Every time I fly over Sunken Harbor I get a notice that I am in a pvp area, but I have no idea if it is still even possible to participate in that.

Yeah you pick up a PvP flag in the BH arena. No one is ever in there when I go in though.

Protip: Do not do job board missions that lead to the pvp area as a group if one of your group members is an engineer class...or at least tell him to not deploy turrets.

So, something I've noticed is that if one person takes a board mission in a group and solos it, everyone gets the reward.

I don't know if you can have everyone take a mission and just get quintuple rewards rate, or if you'd need to have one person thump and another mission, or what.

Thanks for the info. Was surprised that you can buy armour certs on the exchange. And at a 1/3 the price they are on the bean store.

Any tips on things to sell for a low level guy?
    Is it mostly thumper components?

Best advice? Bones. But really just do whatever, and occasionally during a down period just press T to open the market, click the sell tab and drag n drop whatever crafting stuff or random gear to see if any buy orders are up. Fill whatever you can. Sell any purple drops for 900cr

That's actually REALLY good advice. Thanks.

e: Oh hey, look at that. During the firefall live broadcast they announced anyone who's ever bought red beans gets some for free! Just go to their web page and sign in to your account and click the 'redeem' button on the 'my account' page. I got 100 free beans.

    Again, thanks :)

Will have to try and sell my inventory when I get off work.

Another question. Is there any pattern to the ore density in an areal? Or is the map devided into squares where the density is lowered every time someone thumps?

Saturday I found a place with 100% iron. And it seemed like my second thump got the same return as the first one. I stopped after the second one to let one of the random people helping me place one.

I guess that brings up another question. What is the eticette on placing thumpers. Do you 'own' the location until you get bored of placing the thumper?

What's the best way to get lots of crystite fast? Solo thumping with a Thump 1 was pretty paltry for the time commitment. World events are about the same. Job boards seem better overall but I would like another opinion.

Do I need better thumps? Sqaud thumping? BWA runs?

Definitely best bet is higher level thumping.

Honestly everyone should just rush to 40, stuff is just so much easier once you can start putzing around DT. Even thumping for profits is so much easier.

How hands-off is it to thump with an Engineer? Thinking about finding a spot and then just watching series on the other monitor.

I've been seeing engineers put their thumpers up on narrow cliffs where there is only one way to it. They then will set up shop just above the thumper and waste anything that comes near.

Turrets are flimsy. When you thump with them you have to think on how to protect them while they protect the thumper.

...and when you are done with that; take a folding
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.

It used to be extremely hands off. Now, like Bri said, I have to guard the turrets and usually lose three or four during a thump.

Also you need to pay attention or a random 6 chosen drop pods falling on your thumper will make you sad.

Please tell me what dark gods you made a pact with to get duration that high, best I've managed is a little under 3 min duration. I've been generally going through two complete sets between duration and them getting one shotted. Pretty much gone to other frames for thumping these days.

With the caveat that I've only done it up to level 15, I find that dropping a sentinel pod and setting up my turret farm within its AOE works really well.

Last night, I randomly hooked up with @hatedinamerica‌ and a couple pubs and we did a few Personal Thumps before dropping the Stock Squad Thumper in the area outside Thump Dump.

Dear GODS the amount of Chosen was INSANE. Like a full on invasion.

    Loved it.

Anyone have a rundown for sensible crafting and research routes?

Should I just focus on one line of research or try to spread it around a bit? I feel like it makes more sense to be focused but I have this URGE to craft EVERYthing. Advice?

BTW - I remember someone offering the full fledged Personal Thumper 1, not the Stock, for giveaway. If that offer is still available, I would appreciate one. I'm still a lowly 13 Dread/14 Recon (due to the weekend) with nothing in any of the others.

As a side note, I actually liked using the Recon frame. If they continue them, the bonus XP weekends will probably get me to try all of the base frames, so kudos to the devs for that.

Outside of green modules, small stim packs, and a couple voucher patterns can't say I've made anything though I can build almost all modules, dread abilitys, and a lot of cores. Hybrid modules are just insane and it's generally cheaper to sell the mats and just buy blues from market.

Every time I see a Bastion thumping, its near a wall, and the turrets are up on the wall, and nothing ever bothers going after them as long as they aren't in the way.

That's a good way to do it.

Notable crafts I can make if anyone is interested: Level 22 Rocket Turret. Level 17 blue fusion cannon, level 18 purple plasma cannon (and 17 blue plasma cannon). I was experimenting with AOE mods. Level 12 green and blue burning cryo grenade (recon). level 10 green and blue Sharpeye R36 (increased zoom rifle for recon). And Personal Thumper III's... but they're ridiculously expensive resource wise.

@Dreadbert Oh, no dark gods are worshipped. I have the full complement despawn while thumping, but i was just talking about the ones I lose to getting one-shotted.

I'm always up for Firefalling with PA peeps, so interested parties should shoot me some friend requests. IGN is hatedinamerica of course.

I managed to remember that the Steam marketplace existed this morning, so I sold off all my TF2 items and some cards; got enough to get another $5 worth of beans with a few bucks left over for the next batch. :D

Also, I've now gotten all my frames up to at least 5. Dreadnaught and Recon are around 13-15 or so. Not sure what I want to take to 20 and beyond yet, but I'm really enjoying the Recon and Assault. Afterburner is super nice for exploring.

We have three people raid ready in Bundy, as of a few hours ago. I don't know how well they are geared but I can't imagine it's too bad.

I really want to give these a shot.

So, earlier tonight, @hatedinamerica‌ and I were doing some thumping. I forget where we were, but it was a good location. We had just seen the Tornado off in the distance, but didn't think much of it other than "that thing is huge".

You can see where this is going.

In the middle of the thumping, I notice the trees swaying. And look up and see the damn thing headed right fraking toward hated's thumper. I chat/yell quickly that the tornado is headed right for us. It gets closer and closer, all the time we are shooting and defending and I am waiting for it to just tear across the thumper and destroy it. Instead, the thumper hits 100% and hated sends it back into the sky. We immediately are swarmed by the damn nado's escorts. We spend the next 10 - 15 minutes trying to take that damn thing down. We did along with some randoms who I think had been fighting the thing as it approached us, but the both of us died right as the last shard exploded into a thousand escort mob creatures. Seriously, save your HKMs for that insanity.

I was amused as hell. Random events conspired to make a compelling story and memory for me.

Yes, that was so much fun! Frickin huge ass tornado.

I can't believe I didn't notice it was coming right at us until it was RIGHT FUCKING THERE. I guess I was in the zone defending the thumper, trying to stay alive.

  • Options

Actually tornadoes home on thumpers. I carry several stock personal thumpers just to pull them back to good spots.

BWA boss does not appear to drop loot. There is a loot popup when it gets the killing blow. Two guns and a chance of necro module, or bwa paint evidently.

Yeah, tornadoes are intelligent mobs, they zero in on targets just like any other mob. It's great.

You don't even need a thumper to lead it around on a leash; just being the primary damage dealer to it will make it follow you around beautifully. Of course, that gets complicated once other folks jump in. :D

I have to admit that, while the game feels rough around the edges and has some drawbacks/limitations, I am having fun with it.

The madness of tossing down a squad thumper in a level 16 zone while only being level 11; the terror of seeing a swirling vortex of energy barreling down on you; the absolute chaos of a squad fending off invaders of all shapes and sizes as the thumper nears both it's completion and destruction point.

It is a fun game and I'm not even 20th level yet. And I'm enjoying the "job chains" with the interlocking stories.

I just have to accept that there are things that just don't quite seem to work or work in a way I don't understand yet.

But all in all, I'm glad I tried it. I may stick with it for a little while at the very least.

Got a Dragonfly pilot license from a gold token last night before bed. Liking it so far but I'm only up to level 5 or so, so I don't have all the abilities unlocked yet. Thinking I'm gonna take my Recon to 25 first to get the alleged bike you can get then, since after the bonus xp weekend, it's my highest level frame.

Also, I am clear-cutting the shit out of my Steam inventory to make as many pennies as I can to buy a few more Red Beans here and there. Got a Firefall foil so when that sells I'll be around $5 again.

I logged in the other day and realized I had a mountain of Crystite and Research. So I have all the thumpers in the world now and a bunch of stuff for Recluse. If I'm on I'm around on my character called Punches. I still don't know what levels mean, but I have a few level 20s and I can make a few thumpers.
