Dang, was hoping to see those in open word. Can't imagine the carnage from just 2-3 of those converging from different sides on a POI. Should be less load then OCT attacks for sure.

I'm surprised how cheap VIP time is on the market. Just got a week's worth for 2,850 credits, which is...like...way less than it would be in beans (fuck math).

Honestly not even sure what the point of beans is at this point. Gold vending tokens, I guess?

2850 credits is 28.5 beans. It's 40 beans for 7 days in the store.

I'm really enjoying the game so far.

The only real gripe I have is that I feel like the world has such a huge and neat number of little areas to explore, but there isn't really anything to do there. It would be nice if the game rewarded exploration a bit more. Perhaps with little quests/missions that don't show up on the map until they're triggered by someone walking by, or lore pickups, or unique bosses, etc.

It's probably my approach to the game, but I feel like there's no reason to go to a place unless a mission directs you there, which is a shame since the world is so well designed.

There are lore pickups (little blue squares on the ground that glow, they are audio snippets of story items), and there are nodes you can throw a charge at to detonate for small amounts of resources. There are also wounded bandits, and random boss spawns (seismic activity ones are my favorite). I really like fighting the big boss critters in this game.

That's probably not going to happen until the PvE side of things has had a little more time to get going solid like.

There is an open world pop zone, and that arena at sunken works if memory serves.

Sorry if this is an question answered one too many times already but how does one contact the PA group in this game? I've leveled a Dread up to Lv5 and an Engineer up to 2 or 3. Would have done more but this mission I got, A Father In Need, decided to bug out by having the NPC I'm supposed to chat with at the beginning hiding inside a box.

Search Pax Arcadia at the army terminal in Copa. And just abandon that job if it glitched out.

Not that I could tell last night. If you grab boing from the addon area of the official forum you can mostly get around it though.

Next patch they are doubling event spawns and patching a bunch of bugs that have been stopping event spawns in Sertao and DT.

Is there a guide or wiki for this, where I can browse some general info before I start playing? A search pulled up a bunch of places that just seemed to be guessing based on trailers and rumors from beta.

Dang, have not played my recluse since they put out 1.0, this frame is almost playing in god mode. Granted I was previous slogging it out trying to get dragonfly from 30-34 but jeez I can't imagine how silly this frame was before last hotfix.

This is with just trash mods and green/white gear ~5-10 levels under current. so. many. numbers.

I love hitting a few hisser nests on my firecat then getting a whole bunch of the fuckers to surround me before using all of my abilities and immediately collecting all the loot.

Dragonfly is basically an immortal god right now. If you think dread frames are tough to kill... you haven't been rolling with 10% damage>heals, an HLM that regens several hundred HP/second at level 8, two nuke/heal combo skills and a ranged death cloud. The ranged death cloud is the least impressive skill in the kit.

This game definitely feels very...computery. All of the enemies just kind of slide around the screen and dart about at crazy speeds. I tried to play the sniper class, but guys just appear out of thin air, so there's no real chance to snipe. Also random other players just running into the middle of your fight disrupting it. So I just spray randomly with the infinite ammo backup gun.

I feel like there must be more to the game, but it seems very unfinished or not well thought out right now.

I think Recluse is still tankier then a dragonfly.

That being said, heal pillar and heal ball are amazing. Heal wave is nice but the other two are just great for doing damage and healing yourself.

Though for what it's worth: currently any perks that up poison damage do up the damage dragonfly heals do to enemies.

My big problem with dragonfly was it killing much slower and constantly running out of ammo. Couldn't do a solo ares in serato without at least one death. Main gun ammo usage is just out if wack. With others it can keep the murder train rolling at a brisk pace, it just doesn't work well solo for me.

Yes, ammo packs are inexpensive if crafted. A class that needs constant cy infusion to play is badly flawed in my mind though.

Yeah, the bio rifle badly needs help on the ammo situation. I usually have an ar out.

Just about to hit 40 on my first frame, Dreadnaught. Gonna go for a Recluse next, as was my plan before, which is all the more reinforced by the above posts.

Still having fun with the game as a casual shoot all the things little world to romp around in. Found a few broken escort missions in Devil's Tusk last night which were made worse by the cliffy lava filled terrain and the crazy Chosen events everywhere though. That wasn't so great.

Dragonfly ammo use with a decently modded gun and actively using abilities to murder dudes never bothered me. And I'm 40 and use it as my primary farmer.

Maybe I'm just weird or used to it.

Might be a function of power factor and timing too. Most of the ability's I'm using on it are green with ~10-15% cooldown and it's taking 2-3 ability's since around level 30 to reliably kill a small pack. Taking a full mag of alt-fire to down humanoid packs now as well. As a point if reference primary fire is doing ~575 a hit at level 34 if memory serves.

    Edit-
Should be a fair bit higher but since last patch replacement gear has gotten scarce, ditto for modes. Still have 40-50 green modules in 25-30 range but almost nothing new since I started leveling frames from 30-35.

Not to sound impatient but it's been three days since I've applied to join the PA group. Any chance of someone putting the rubber stamp on my entry soon?

Glad you said something. The army screen is mostly pointless so it's probably not looked at.

Odd that there is evidently no way to see army folks online.

Patch "the middle of next week."

Dunno, I think they try to stuff too much stuff on each patch. Hopefully they'll learn people appreciate smaller, faster patches.

So I hit Lv10 with my Dread and I'm wondering if there's anything I should be doing around now to make things easier. I've noticed that there's a lack of gear-drops in the game, so should I be doing any sort of crafting?

  • Options
    DreadBertDreadBert Registered User regular
Yeah about the same here on drops, R5 seems to define Uncommon as about 10% of the dropped items.

White/Green isn't too expensive to craft, but probably not worth it though (check hybrid mat prices). Best recommendation I have to is to convert crystite -> credits and just buy a basic kit off market. Sub 20 green stuff can be gotten for ~50cr or a bit more for blues if you check market from time to time. A solid secondary is really handy as all frames can use it as well.

Blues are nice and all but I've found that you can get by Ok with greens and trash white/green modules in the 20-35 range if you avoid dps check stuff like escort/defend.

  • Options
    PolaritiePolaritie Sleepy Registered User regular
Eh, white crafting is fine, especially for modules, because you want all your slots filled for the power rating bonus.

Green though, yeah - just flip the hybrids for credits. Once you get to BWA, just farm the fuck out of it for primary and secondary.

I have a slightly insane level 24 SMG thanks to a couple runs a while back.

In other news, they moved up the Dreadnought bonus to midweek. This weekened? +25% xp on everything.
