I'd like to know too, by the time I got there they weren't letting people in. In previous years I was always able to get in even if I was a few minutes late so that kinda caught me off guard. Is the capacity that much lower than the convention centers' space or did that many people show up to wait in line?
And in case it wasn't clear, the final game was one of those toy-collecting claw games. You know, like where the aliens are from in Toy Story. It had a custom sign, "THE OMEGACLAW".
Before it was revealed, they gave three hints as to what the game was: [Something I don't remember], it's turn based, and it involves resource gathering. LOL

Ancient, turn-based and resource gathering. Then they mentioned that it's the most cruel invention ever created (or something to that effect).

The problem is that the theater had fixed seating, and they were not allowed to have people standing around. That was the nice thing about the old Main Theaters. People could fill in around the back and sides and just stand.
I will say that the orchestra hall style made it very epic when you're on stage. I totally wanted to take a picture when we came out on stage, but when that time came, I couldn't barely think about anything lol.
Also, the seating didn't hinder dancing as much as people thought it would. Plent of peoople were rocking out during the concerts.
The downsides to the theater were the capacity and the fact that people couldn't come and go on a whim. Since it is away from the rest of the con, you have to commit to going to a Main Theater even.

Oh, that's right. When Jeryy mentioned ancient and turn-based (but before mentioning resource gathering), some people around thought it might be chess. I was thinking, "There's no way, we could be here all night," lol, and something like checkers wouldn't be as fun to watch I think. Though I guess with that crowd and atmosphere, I think almost anything could be exciting.

Yeah, that kind of bothered me. In past PAXii, you could go to the main theater to sit down and rest your feet if it wasn't full, and sometimes catch some interesting stuff by accident. The twitter updates from PAX_lines was also not as useful as I would've liked. I'd have preferred if it covered all the theaters, and updated more frequently. Perhaps in addition to twitter, they could set up screens around the convention center next year that list what's going on in all the theaters right that instant (or what's coming up), how much estimated space is left, and maybe even a live webcam feed of the main theater line. It would allow for more spontaneity.
I gather they did live streams of certain main theater events this year, but I never really looked at it. How did it work for those who tried it?
I hate to say it but the theater was not full, where I was sitting (nose bleeds) there was a bunch of extra seats around me, so many that my backpack had it's own seat once the event started. I was surprised it hadn't filled. Though now seeing that they were keeping folks out I'm really confused.
I'm not sure who was doing the counting to figure out it was at capacity but they were not doing that great of a job, there was several dozen seats up where I was.
Seems really lousy people got kept out of the theater when it clearly wasn't full.

(You just say the letters)
I wasn't at PAX but was able to watch the full Saturday concerts via UStream. It was the same feed that I'm sure was projecting on to the monitors
