after dying ten or so times. Generally, I found it useful to use Shotlock during his big attacks, since you'll be invincible and dealing some damage at the same time.
Going to grind at the Mirage Arena to level up abilities, get new ones and also get the fifth report.

I found the best way to level abilities was to go to Neverland, and inside Skull Rock there'll be a Jellyfish looking Unversed that will split into two smaller copies (up to eight) if you kill it with a keyblade attack.
Attack with your keyblade until it splits into four, then activate the Stitch d-link and keep attacking until you can use Ohana beat and wipe them all out.
I could usually max out an entire deck of commands in 10-20 seconds like that.
Has it occured to anyone that this game really doesn't make any fucking sense as it is a combination of Disney and Final Fantasy archtecture and Storylines are only made up by guesswork of your own interpretation?
Seriously, this game makes NO FUCKING SENSE. However, it is awesome none the less. And I am still pissed that I bought a PSPGo and have to turn around and buy a PSP 3000.
Amazon says it will be a week before I get KH and Invismals.

What's even more painfull is Gamestop will only give you $50 credit for your PSPgo, but they said they have a good reason for that; No one buys the fucking things.

I'm gonna keep mine just because I spent 250 fucking dollars on it. It was an impulse buy because I am deployed and I wanted to play FF7.
It's actually a neat system, it just needs some love from Sony and the Publishers. Which will never happen. Maybe the Nintendo 3DS will push the focus of handhelds back into the spotlight again and maybe someone will think it's a good idea.
Sony should work on their online stuff though, seems glitchy, and forces you to wait a long time for the game to install - and if you drop connection during any of the shit you gotta start over... mehh.
Wow, it has that much? Man, I can't even use the smallest install with the puny memory stick that came with my launch PSP. I basically have to keep it plugged in to keep a charge, too.
Edit: Is it just me, or would anyone else like to see a rerelease of the first two PS2 Kingdom Hearts get an HD remake on PS3, like God of War and Ico/Shadow of the Colossus? The Final Mixes.
... They're actually going forward on those other 13 projects? What, did the game do gangbusters over in Japan? I thought it divebombed over here.
Supposedly it had sales in the same ballpark as XII (so claimed someone in the vg sales thread on the topic, anyways), but this isn't taking into consideration that the development costs for XIII were higher. So, even if you're willing to buy that it did as well as XII (which wasn't an incredible fountain of money itself or anything), you'd have to find out what the budget difference was to even hazard a guess.
So it's anywhere from 'didn't do well' to 'divebombed' but only Square knows for sure. But even if it was DOA or something, this is Final Fantasy here. Square is gonna keep making them, especially if they've already been planned, regardless of their performance.

So I bought 358/2 Days and BBS during the Amazon sale the other day. Initial thoughts:
Days
Whoever said that Organization XIII was made up of one girl and bunch of guys who look like girls was...exaggerating, actually. I'll go so far as to say that it's really only true for Marluxia.
Also, apparently you don't need a heart to be a huge jackass, if Zexion and Larxene are anything to go by.
BBS
You can tell this one was made more with veterans of the series in mind. I had to D-link to restore Terra's HP a couple times in the first section.
I like the default camera controls better here; when I go back to days I'll probably try out the L/R control option.
Went back and gave the final arena challenge another go, and looks like third time's the charm because I beat it. Who knew that the correct answer was to just bring a bunch of Firagas? And three Curagas, and a Faith, but details.

It's been forever since KHII, I don't remember the intricate details about it's story. I wanna play it again, but you know, so much to play...
Anyway, I finished Aqua's scenario on Critical. Level 37 when I beat the final boss, which might have been overleveled or what, but he was just disgustingly easy. That's 3 out of 3 for me, finally. Now how do you unlock the final scenario again?
And how the FUCK do you beat Iron Imprisoner III?

I think you beat all hard bosses with Shotlocks + Way to fill up Shotlocks without dying + Lots of Cures.

I really should have used Shotlock sometime, but I just never remember it exists until after the fights.
Well I went back and got Report 5 from the Arena with Terra and unlocked the final episode. Haven't played it yet tho. Terra is slow as balls but he is strong as hell.

The really hard bosses are immune to Shotlocks.

Guess I haven't fought anything hard yet. Do they just not take damage, or what?
The secret bosses don't take damage. Everyone else (story and arena bosses) do. I've fought the first one, and if you're curious how he works
He's basically bullshit in every way. Almost all of his attacks involve him teleporting, and he opens up with an attack where he teleports into you, invincible, for like eight times before he lets up and them teleports into you for a normal combo. He also has a shotlock of his own, which is one of the only times you can hit him. Oh, and best of all? If you use a cure command, he heals himself. Every time. He doesn't have a limit. Luckily he only has one bar of health; unfortunately, he also has a ridiculous amount of defense, and can basically two-shot you at best, which means if you go in without Second Chance and Once More on, you're fucked. He's pretty tough.
By the way, has anyone ranted on how stupid mini-games are in a while? Because screw mini-games. The last race map cheats so much. The closest I came to winning, I was on my last map and I hit the boosters in the final stretch of the short-cut first - and then an AI opponent just fucking flew past me. Who knew the AI had nitro boosts?
And the rhythm minigame? I hate that more than words can express. The timing for it is awful and having to get a cool/fantastic to unlock the next level of the song, and new songs and rewards just hurts. It's not fun in any way. It doesn't even make sense! Who makes ice cream like that? What kind of idiots are these people?
And the fruitball court. Fuck you, Pete. Fuck you.
I never had issues with the rhythm game, but fruitball is awful. Awful awful awful. I don't even know how you play it, my whole strategy was get smaller fruits and just launch them from the air. Big ones seemed worthless because the AI always hits them back.

I wish the worst things imaginable on the people who designed the mini-games in this game.
The best strategy for fruitball is basically "hit things into the air and then back down a lot and hope for the best." The final match is spectacularly awful, though, and ol' Pete will hit back nearly everything you throw at him. The best I've managed is to lose by five to him so far. Not that I've tried much, because any and all of the minigames begin to gnaw at my sanity after a while.
I don't think any minigame in BBS will match the putridness of the Little Mermaid games in KH2. Especially the first song which nearly caused me to have an aneurysm.
Little Mermaid was terrible, yes, but it was easy as hell. It went by much faster. Though the simple fact that it was so awful makes the inclusion of another rhythm game mind boggling. And now that I think about it, Hundred Acre Woods had some terrible mini-games in the last game, too. I'd really just like them to stop it with those. I don't even play the command board because I like it - after I get what I actually need off of it early on, I just leave it alone.
Just want to point out that aside from the occasional disagreement about Blitzball and the FF8 card game, this only once again proves my point that every mini-game Square makes is utter shit. They do not make good mini-games and they never will. So don't expect the next game to have any good ones either.
I know. That's what I'm saying, I wish they'd stop with the mini games period. Maybe instead of mini games, escort missions and timed missions we can just get more things to hit. I rather enjoy hitting things in these games, you know?
The next game will have a card game with every KH character so far that is strong and weak to all others and the playing board will be some kind of strange 3D Octagon where cards attack through the other side, but not side by side unless you play a special card. But then the octagon will become a trapezoid and a bunch of cards will be removed and then the strategy completely changes. It will be completely obtuse, impossible to figure out, and Square fans will defend it to the death.
At least the final reward for the arena was good! But... you have to play two of the mini games... and you have to unlock most of them, first outside of the arena... and then, top top it off you have to replay them a bunch of times to grind medals...

Well, there's Chocobo Tales. Some of the minigmes in that were entertaining.
I remember replaying that asstastic Chocobo Racing in FFVII because the strategy guide had an error that stated Cloud's Omnislash was one of the random rewards at the race's end.
Did you know that if you win enough races they reward you with one of every possible reward in the races at a shot? And still no Omnislash.
Later I went to the Battle Arena, played a couple of rounds, and then proceeded to throw the strategy guide across the room.

Still. Where the hell is 3?
They need to finish FFXIII Vs? Agito? One of those, before they start KH3, iirc.
