So, Grandia... any good?
I'm watching the Persona 4 Endurance Run on Giant Bomb and kinda getting the jones for some JRPG'ing, but when I tried to buy Grandia, the PSN store refused to accept my card and now it just says that funds aren't being added and I'm wondering if I should take that as a sign.

That list is fantastic, Unco. Thanks for it. I'll add the section in later on tonight.
No problem. I could've gotten better full 720p screens for a few of them but figured you wouldn't want them that big and couldn't be bothered downscaling them. Some others around here can probably come up with some more games, EA just announced a couple for example and I'm sure Cantido's around looking to promote Double Fine's next few downloadable titles.
PSNStores is a good place to get PSN news btw, it's run by the guy that does GAF's weekly PSN update threads.
Any interest in a PSN secret santa? Tentatively speaking.
That'd be neat but a bit awkward considering how stupid Sony are with the different regions stores. If cross-region gifting were possible it'd be a hell of a lot easier.
Nope. I vaguely remember there being the ability to gift either money or games when the PS3 launched but they took that functionality out pretty quickly.

Amazon.com sells download codes for quite a few PSN games, so you could simply buy the game from Amazon and then send the person an email/PSN message with the code for an indirect gifting.
edit: It's also the only way to purchase the Disney PS1 games that were removed from the store.

I missed my chance to get the Disney PS1 games before they were yanked. Read your comment and went to Amazon to find them. Either my search words fail or Amazon hid it from the search... Think you could help?
I want to find these games so badly I actually registered just to ask.

Well, it looks like I was only partly right. Out of the Five Disney PS1 games that I remember hitting the PSN, only Hercules, The Emperor's New Groove, and Toy Story Racer are still available.
I can't seem find Tarzan or Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
Crazy Taxi – This downloadable game brings the Director’s Cut of the arcade classic Crazy Taxi to PlayStation 3. Buckle up — it’s sheer asphalt anarchy! Crazy Taxi screeches offers one wild and hilarious joy-riding jaunt. As a fearless cabbie with attitude, you’re driven by a single goal: to rack up the mega-bucks in fares and tips before your shift ends.
Peggle (PSP) – Wield mystifying Magic Powers, rack up huge bonus points and make shots you’ll smile about for weeks. Amidst all this fevered action, only one question remains: Can you become a Peggle Master?
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 (PSP) – Pro Evolution Soccer 2011reinvigorates the series with the most advanced set of improved gameplay additions, control options and to catch up with the evolution of the real-life soccer.
3D Ultra MiniGolf Adventures 2 – In 3D Ultra MiniGolf Adventures 2, players are challenged to navigate their ball beyond obstacles using the help of secret shortcuts, game-changing power-ups and traps to sabotage the competition. Putt through over 50 fun-filled holes in diverse locations, such as a Haunted Manor, a Manic Museum and a Winter Wonderland.
Sky Fighters (Demo Available) – This is an action game in which players pilot small planes through combat objectives in a World War II-like setting. Players travel through a 2D game world and complete various missions. Players use bombs, missiles, and machine guns to destroy targets (e.g., planes, tanks, trucks, buildings).
PSone Imports
Sonic Wings Special – A compilation of all three popular top-down strafing shooters from Video System. Each games features 2-player simultaneous play, multiple playable jet fighters (each with its own anime-styled pilot, special attacks, and — in SW3 — a unique storyline path through the game’s various stages), and a massive amount of destructible scenery that yielded money for powering up your fighter.
Money Idol Exchanger – Money Idol Exchanger is a stacking game similar to the Magical Drop, Astro Pop, and Puzzle Bobble series whereby players race to prevent a perpetually falling array of coins in different values from filling up the screen.
PlayStation minis
Who’s That Flying?! – Who’s That Flying!? is a wildly different kind of shooter from the creators of Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess. In it, you are the mysterious and powerful creature known only as the “Guardian of Earth.” Your steely eye and Hyper-Powered Laser Arm have kept the citizens of Earth safe for generations (as well as proving a hit with the ladies). Now, you must not only defend your cities from the ravenous hordes of Doom Beasts, you must defend yourself against accusations of gross incompetence from the Galactic Council of Justice!
DynoGems – DynoGems is an addictive and challenging puzzle game! Grab and group four or more diamonds of the same color to eliminate them from the screen, until you fill the level bar.
Jewel Keepers: Easter Island – One day Professor “H”, the world-class expert on Easter Island, received a strange letter from its capital Hanga Roa. It was a cry for help from somebody unknown. It said that something bad was going on the island. Without any hesitation, Professor, together with his assistant Joel and his granddaughter Ivie, rushed to the island, where the puzzles, mysteries and quests awaited them. Can you help him to reveal the biggest secret of Easter Island?
So, quite a few things coming out this week.
Crazy Taxi, which I imagine will have a few people posting in here (Status updates at least. What parts of the soundtrack are out, if custom soundtracks are allowed, etc.), some new PSOne Imports, a few odds and ends games, Peggle for PSP (UnbreakableVow might suddenly miss his PSP somewhat), and Who's That Flying?! for reals this time. Apparently it was pulled last minute the last time it was going to be put up because of a nasty crashing bug or something.

I just posted this in another PSP thread, but there'll be an Atlas sale on North America's PSN store.
Is there a way to look up the full list of Atlas games on the PSN?
Hm, weird... the wikipedia article of PSN games says Steambot chronicles is an Irem game, but it's part of the Atlast sale. I think I'm missing something.
Well... maybe I should ask first. Are Crimson Gem Saga or Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble as good as they look? I might nab P3P too just because I always wished I could play P3 with P4's battle system.
Kenka Bancho looked pretty awesome and I'm pretty sure a lot of people liked it. It had some HP-spongey bosses though, apparently. Though you likely can't go wrong for that sale price if you're even slightly interested in Brawlers.
Also, Dead Nation finally has a release date. It is November 30th. (The day after for PAL-Land) Will be $14.99/€12.99 / £9.99 and will apparently have a Platinum trophy? That's different.
I rate Crimson Gem Saga as a solid meh. It's a competently executed by-the-numbers JRPG, but that's all. Haven't tried Kenka Bancho.
Really? I've heard it's got a good story, not aspiring to be more than what it is: a solid by-the-book RPG. Also makes fun of itself.
I think these may be the "glass half-empty" and "glass half-full" perspectives respectively. I didn't find anything in the game mechanics to be interesting enough to keep me playing through the fairly standard story, but I've certainly played worse RPGs -- even without digging down to the Magna Carta: Tears of Blood level of "worse".
Fig-D : if you haven't played it, I'd go for Riviera before Crimson Gem Saga. Not everybody likes Sting's game or character designs, though, and it does look like a PSP port of a GBA port of a WonderSwan Color game (which it is).
Crimson Gem Saga is a pretty solid B RPG. Gameplay is pretty unbalanced (equipment costs a ton of gold later on, but you can cheese through battles if you purchase the right skills) and some of the puzzles were annoying, but I enjoyed the first 2/3rds of the game before getting bored of it.

The Prince of Persia Trilogy will be available for download exclusively on the PlayStation Network, giving you the opportunity to re-live the critically-acclaimed developed by Ubisoft’s Montreal studios. These PS2 classics have been upgraded with HD graphics and are ready for 3D-enabled televisions for the first time ever!
Prince of Persia The Sands of Time PS3
Do you remember fighting the Vizier? Chasing the Dagger of Time? Trying to save Farah? Well, that was 7 years ago… This huge PS2 hit is prettier than ever on your PS3 in 720p, and for the lucky owners of a 3DTV, added 3D effects to immerse you more than ever in this awesome Arabian Nights tale from Jordan Mechner and Ubisoft Montreal. Getting this game on PSN is simpler than reversing time, right? So don’t wait, jump, wall run, solve puzzles and rewind time today on PSN with Prince of Persia The Sands of Time.
Prince of Persia Warrior Within and Prince of Persia The Two Thrones, the 2 other chapters of this epic tale, will be available in December. Each game will be available for download on the PlayStation Store for $14.99. To join the Prince in his quest for total awesomeness – Prince the warrior, not the singer – visit us on Facebook.
So NA does get the SoT trilogy, just not on a disc.
Oh, wow, the Update isn't that late tonight. Hopefully it's -actually- up.

So, wow. Lot of content. Something for PS3 and PSP peoples both, which is rare enough. Interesting to me is that Blade Kitten is already permanently cheaper. I guess it didn't sell that well!
Edit: I gotta say, I'm not really impressed with the PoP trilogy being Download only. I'll hold out hope for a disk since I honestly don't have the time it would take to download them, otherwise, well, I have Sands of Time for PS2 already. Damn awful internet.
Edit 2: Also worth mentioning is that now Canada can buy PS3 Protection plans. I guess they couldn't before.

If you want them on disc, import it. I don't think there's any chance of it coming out in the US.
Speaking of re-releases and discs, GameStop has a Dreamcast Collection listed on their website. Right now there is no info, and it's only listed for the Xbox 360, but from the complete lack of information I am going to extrapolate that sometime early next year the released DC games (Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5, Bass Fishing, and whatever others are released in the near future) will probably be available on disc.
The thought occurred to me that it might be a 360 exclusive retail release due to the fact that so many people are buying the 4GB systems and don't have any hard disc space to spare, but hopefully that's not the case.
So if for some reason you want to play the DC re-releases but you can't download them from the PSN, in a few months your problems might be solved.
edit: But then again, the price is listed at $29.99, so that would imply there wouldn't be many games included.

I likely will if that's my only route to go. But as it stands, I've got far too many games on my plate to even worry about them.

You could say the same thing about the Mega Drive Collection though and look at how many they put in that. I'm hoping for a decent selection (including Skies of Arcadia) and far better ports than the shit they've put on the PSN.
I'd be far more enthused about a Saturn Collection though, I'd kill the hobo running Sega if they'd give me a completely localised version of Shining Force 3.

For the most part, yes. You can also put the data from a PSP memory card onto your computer, save it, put another card in, and transfer it that way.

Not yet. Going to try it out with some Pan Sonic this weekend.
It's a JRPG without the emo bullshit, retardedly awkward love triangles, and "... " statements.
In short, it's awesome.
