I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.
Hey Guys, I won a PS3 last week at our company Gold tournament. It's the Call of duty Black ops edtion with the game and a 160GB. Not a huge CoD fan so still wondering if I'll keep the game or sell it.
1- Any "must have" PS3 exclusifs? I own an Xbox 360 so I am not interested in cross plateform games. So far, out of some reading, and because they could be had cheap, I bought the original InFamous (always got intruiged in the game) and uncharted 2 (have a friend who has the orignal and will allow me to borrow it). Wondering if down the road there are other must have PS3 exclusifs that I should look into.
2- Is the Playstation Plus subscription worth it? Beside some free games and trials, what would be the reason to pay 50$ a year for this? (what's stupid is a flyer that came with the console says I can get 2 years for the price of one, yet on the website and on the playstation network from the console, I can't sign up for that deal).
thanks in advance!
Beyond the good recommendations already given, be sure to check out the PSN exclusives. I'm also a 360 owner as well, and a lot of my favorite gems on both consoles are the digital-distro titles. In particulary, Wipeout HD is gorgeous and silky smooth, Shatter is a great techno-remix of Breakout/Arkanoid, and Tetris PSN is really fun.
And re: Uncharted 2, so far it's easily my favorite game on the system, even though I was also late to the party on the PS3. UC1 was kind of hit-and-miss for me, but UC2 remedied most of my problems with the first game (mostly the fiddly gunplay and weird difficulty spikes), so if you borrow the first one and start to feel it flagging, feel free to skip ahead to the second one.
Been playing Ass Creed 2 for the last several nights, staying up way too late. Haven't been this immersed for a long time. This is one of the few games that I actually WANT to do the side quests for (though the city races can go to hell and die, they're bullshit). The rest is really fun though.
Guess we're back to normal since the Store Update is up.

So, a lot of people like Outland. It is out now and it is pretty cheap! Also, everyone still enjoying their free PS+ gets to buy Braid at a really really cheap price. Even though I didn't care for the game personally, a lot of people do so you might want to see where you fall for it. (And remember, games bought at a discount while in PS+ don't expire when your subscription lapses. Only free games do.)
It looks like I'm going to have to pick up a PSN card and finally buy a game off of PSN when this comes out. Well, as long as it's good of course.
He's also in that Castlevania game, if you're willing to play a game just for him.
I'm mostly interested in the War of the Worlds part of it. The 1953 film is still one of my favourite oldie Sci-fi films and having Captain Picard doing the narration is basically the icing on the cake.

Anyways, thanks to Diarmuid for the PAL update as usual. Now that we're back to normal, I mean. And, continuing the normalcy, here's the Comic Store update that I'm not sure most of us pay attention to.

After reading the book I've been put off pretty much all adaptations of War of the Worlds, not that they're bad films, it's just I'd absolutely kill for a film to be made around the original period. Aliens invading the 1890's? Sign me up!
That said I'm a HUGE Another World and Flashback fan, so I'm looking forward to this an awful lot.
I say make sure to download every single free thing from PSN+, since it'll stay permanently tied to your account. Free is free, after all.
That's what I've been doing. Also downloaded Lilo and Stitch for PS1.
Then quickly deleted it.
Wish they put Hercules instead. I heard that one was good.
Well, themes and avatars stay
Everything else goes kaput once your PS+ expires
As I understand it, you lose access to the games but they're still tied to your account so if you ever resubscribe you can download them again.
And while we're on the subject of PS Plus...
The two extra months of Plus have been applied to my account according to the services section and that's great, but the 'free' games I downloaded from the Plus section still have the original expiration date.
Is this something that will update itself automatically when the time comes or am I going to have deal with some bullshit come September?
Now that we're back to normal, I mean. And, continuing the normalcy, here's the Comic Store update that I'm not sure most of us pay attention to.
I always look for your comic post here since it is convenient for me. Don't know if that is any help for your work. Thanks for always posting the update.
I logged into my account and did the password reset jazz when PSN came back up, but I had to leave the country (to escape danger!) before the freebies came back up. When my friend tries to log on with my account, it just tells him "you can't log in under another user's account." Anyone have any ideas or know a solution?

Sounds like he's trying to sign into your account while still in his PS3 profile. He should make a new "JAEF" profile and use your credentials to sign in while in the new one.
How does one get their name/ID on the master list in the OP? I've been on PSN forever as "therealstupid", but I only play a few games and sporadically at that.

Hey, cool. Appreciate the feedback. As long as even just a couple of people are interested in the Comic store, I'll keep posting it. (Admittedly, one of those couple of people is always me. I don't buy, yet, but I do quite enjoy the comic reader.)

Posting like this can do it! I have you down for USA located by your location, and if you want to let me know whether or not you have a headset, I can edit that in, but as far as being on the master list at all, you're on it now.
* Braid (PlayStation Plus price $3.75, regular price $14.99)
I wanted to make sure to point this out, as it's a ridiculously great price (an almost Steam-worthy discount) for a ridiculously good game. As a puzzle game, it's easily worth one playthrough; as an artistic statement, I found it one of the most effective and provocative games I've played this entire generation, but even if you don't care for the games-as-fart debate it's worth a runthrough for the ingenious puzzles.
I just double-dipped on it when I saw the discount, just to run through it again on PS3 (already have it on XBLA), and I ended up playing through the whole thing again tonight. I heart Braid.
Could a non-Australian resident please take a look at their PSN Store to see if Wipeout HD is still available for sale? On my PSN only the Fury expansion is available and you're unable to play it without the base game

Yeah, I love Braid, and that price is impulse-buy low. One of my greatest memories of 2009 was starting it for the first time (late to the party) around midnight and playing it to completion in one go. The ending blew me away and I fell back into my chair, exhausted, and then maybe paced around a bit before bed. Did the same thing with Portal - I'm a proponent of the midnight-to-morning experience for short, critically-acclaimed games.
So glad the PS store is back up. Tried for 20 minutes to redeem a card this morning to put $20 in my wallet. Fucking store knows it's a good code, knows it's worth $20, and errors out when I say "yes" to "add funds to wallet?" I just want to buy Akimi Village, jerks!
So Outland is good, yeah? I could go for a decent platformer these days...
Yeah, it's great. It controls a liiiiittle differently than I expected, but it looks good and it's a lot of fun. I want to try the co-op soon.
I wish the demo was a bit longer. I've heard it's good, and I already bought this unreturnable PSN card, so I might as well pick it up. But the demo didn't give me a great feel for the game. I didn't get to use many of the powers I hear you get, Metroid style, and I thought the sword fighting was kind of bad.
I've bought the game, and it is fun. A little frustrating (also, if you have any friends cross-continent you're going to have some... interesting... lag if you try to co-op with them), but it's fun all in all. There seems to be infinite continues and you lose nothing for dying, so while that does remove the challenge it also removes some frustration.

Never understood why they didn't just put BoF3 on PSN in both the US and EU, considering it was actually released on UMD at least in EU. (Not sure if it's up on PSN there or not)
Sooo I just tried to log in and it seems PSN is down. I checked the playstation forums and it seems its been down for several hours. Anyone having any luck connecting? I really hope this isn't more hacking bullshit. :x

Never understood why they didn't just put BoF3 on PSN in both the US and EU, considering it was actually released on UMD at least in EU. (Not sure if it's up on PSN there or not)
