I think we should stay with the redbox chars in this adventure!
My char would benefit from changing but we started this to get a feel for the redbox and emulate the game a new DnD player would have.

Should we survive this adventure and continue I vote for incorporating other sources but for now lets try to keep it in the box.(red)

Following stuff I wrote while still more in favor of incorporating HoTFL in this game.
Lets get this first battle done before changing our chars ;)
And hope that we dont get a total party kill.

Since we are on the subject on incorpatating HotFL.
I would realy like to turn my char into a knight (striker to defender). I think the redbox realy is missing a defender. All those shifting of goblins would be awesome for opportunity attacks :)

I rolled up a char and played him through the tower of the wichtingy.

    initial char: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8IRYIVM8

After the Solo adventure he earned 90gp and a Frost Fury Battleaxe +1 (this probably isnt applicable to our adventure since Klopfer got rescued by the "stranger" thus didnt see the tower)

.... but I think we should stay with the redbox chars since we are trying to emulate the experience of just playing with that box in this adventure.

Edendir focuses intently on the Goblin. A ghoul pulls itself from the ground beside the goblin and lunges at it. Meanwhile Edendir takes cover behind group of rocks just off the road.
    Standard:
Phantasmal Force VS Goblin: 1d20+4 20
    damage goblin: 1d10+4 9
Goblin grants combat advantage and cant make OA

    Move: Left 4, up 3

That makes it official, we will stick to the Red Box material.

Edendir has phantasmal forces (renamed phantasmal assault in HoFL) and stone blood (removed in HoFL). I'll control him until Warabit gets back.

One wolf sprints past Flipan, snapping in his direction as it goes by. The second bites at Klopfer, its teeth harmlessly grinding on the haft of his axe, before it leaps back.

Wolves, melee attack (bite) x2: 2#1d20+7 10 15, both miss!

Flipan felt energy surge through him again.

I need to start contributing to this fight, I've been doing nothing but standing around

Flipan dashed forward, at the instruction of his comrade he flanked the bloodied goblin and struck out.

Move: Flank Bloodied Goblin (NW of goblin 1)

    Standard Action: Defensive Strike
    Bonuses: Dex, CA, Prof
    Defensive Strike at Bloodied Goblin: 1d20+3+4+1+2 28 1d6+4 9 2d6 5
One thing I'm not sure about, If I use the power, Defensive strike, do I do 1d4 damage or 1d6 and do I still get the proficiency bonus to attack?

We're sticking with the Red Box, so you're still using a dagger, meaning you still do 1d4. If you were using a short sword, you wouldn't be using defensive strike. :P

For quickness of play, though, I'll assume the same damage.

Technically you can only charge the wolf from your current position if you succeed on the Athletics check to get over the rocks, though you could certainly use a move action to adjust to the right a square before starting the charge.

I'll assume the latter unless you intentionally want to go over the rocks for some reason.

One of the wolves delivers a nasty bite to Klopfer's arm before darting away to rejoin its packmate, flanking Loni. The second wolf tears a gash in Loni's calf then scampers out of his weapon's reach.
Wolf2: Bites Klopfer, shifts 4, then moves adjacent to Loni, providing combat advantage to Wolf1 for flanking.
Wolf1: Bites Loni, shifts 4 away, then moves 4 more.
I didn't include combat advantage below, so Wolf1 hits an AC of 20 instead of 18.
    Wolves, melee attack (bite) x2: 2#1d20+7 18 (+2=20) 24, both hit! Damage: 2#1d6+5 9 11, Loni is knocked prone!

Loni stands up groggily and takes a swing at the nearest wolf. His mace caves the wounded animals skull in dropping it at Loni’s feet. Slightly invigorated by this late victory he turns to face the last wolf.

Flipan realizes that one of the wolves is still up.

"Man my reflexes are really slow today."

Flipan wastes no more time and rushes down, lunging at the end of his sprint to slash at the wolf.

MOVE: Down to 2 squares above the wolf:

    Free Action: Backstab

Standard: Deft strike: move two down to diagonally above the wolf and then use the backstab to gain combat advantage.

    Deft Strike against Wolf: 1d20+3+4+1+2 30 1d4+4 7 2d6 11 = 22 damage (see spoiler)
I think I missed a +3 to power from backstab on that so it should be 1d4+4+3 +2d6, since its a crit I think I do

    22 damage total
