I thought a catchy subject line would hook more of you in here.

Anyway, the problem goes something like this:

- Have CRT Dell monitor.

- Wiped my hard drive last night (don't ask) with the drivers on it.

- Did a Windows XP install.

- Monitor worked fine.

- Unhooked entire PC system and moved it to another room - monitor now won't display jack shit.

- I LOST THE GODDAMN DRIVER CD

- Help?

TL;DR: I apologize to anyone who really hates lists.

Did your video card come unmounted from the motherboard? Also make sure your monitor is set for whatever kind of cable you are using, be that analog or digital.

If your monitor is not displaying anything even at POST, it's nothing to do with drivers. You've either:

    -Plugged something in wrong

    -Unseated your video card

    -Are shit out of luck.

Sorry for those of you that hate lists.

Can you get the built in menu on your monitor to display by pressing any of the buttons of the front? If so, you may just have it set to VGA mode while you're using a DVI cable or vice versa.
