Just watched the replay, its not worth watching really, entertaining in a newbie sort of way, he just had good placement of his supply depots on his area, seems like a good idea for terran players, but he stuffed his econ early by building so many, If I would have went straight Baneling bust first, i would have crushed him....
As you can see the maps are in no discernible order and I no longer have a dropdown to filter them. Also, I'm missing a ton of maps on this screen; the only non-novice ladder map available is Steppes of War. Does anyone know what caused this, or how to fix it?
(I have the same problem when creating a Multiplayer game; I literally can only create games on Steppes of War as far as 1v1 ladder maps go)
Yeah, that's broken.
Balls. Anyone know where the maps are stored? That might help me fix it.
I got this problem before. Go into C/program data/blizzard entertainment/ and delete the battle.net folder. You need 'view hidden folders' on to get there. NB: this is for windows vista, but XP and 7 should have similar paths to fix it.
I don't have anything like that =\. I searched for everything battle.net or Blizzard related to be sure, with hidden file searching enabled. I did find a Battle.net folder in my main installation directory but all it has is two necessary mpq files that break the game when deleted.
The folder for me was in a different place ( different windows versions I assume ) for me using xp it was in documents and setting\all users\application data\blizz etc..
Whoops, you were actually completely correct the first time. I'm on Windows 7 and I just placed too much faith in its search function, which evidently isn't really searching hidden shit when it says it is.
Ugh my will to play is being drained out of me, I've lost a bunch of games in a row. I've lost a bunch of games against toss, way more than statisically normal, including a number of times where I thought I was doing well where Im left scratching my head wondering why I lost. I haven't played against a z in days, don't know whats up with that.

I think I need to do a big analysis session and train up my game but I don't know if I have the energy for it.
I watched this one because it had the least downloads :P I only watched up until you got the Thors, explain why below.
Your opening is back to front, you are sacrificing scv's to build rax, unless you are getting cheesed and need your forces out right now, no need to deviate from 10 depot, 12 rax, 13 refinery, 15 orbital cmd. Normal 3 rax is fine, keep pumping scv's non-stop, and marine/marauder whatever from your first rax, and as your resources go up, build a 2nd rax, 3rd rax as resources allow, don't stop making scv's unless you desperately need units right right now.
Personally against P I get a ghost academy up before my 3rd rax, and have 1 normal rax, 2 with tech labs, and pump a few ghosts between marauders as gas allows, and non-stop marines. You might not like ghosts though that's fine. Then I push out at whatever time, after stim etc, before they typically get colossi etc and get my expo.
Rest of the game macro, good stuff. Lots of scv's, good mule/scan usage. Upgrading units good good.
Then you started doing stuff you couldn't support, and without the need to. Factory, armoury, starport. There's nothing wrong with that if you need it, he goes fast colossus maybe so you throw down a factory to get a starport, swap the reactor over and pump vikings.
But you stayed on 1 base way too long, when you should be looking to get a 2nd base asap. When you first scanned you saw he had a cannon up, bam expand! Forges are not need to build zealots/sentries/stalkers, all those resources he has uselessly spent on turtling up you can spend on a CC. To me I would've thought he's using cannons to fast expand and would've double expanded and thrown up a couple of bunkers at each expo. But he didn't he did nothing then put up a nexus at a silly spot which leads me to the last point of scouting.
Taking the xelnagas is good, goodgoodgood as Day9 says. Then nothing aaarg I was thinking, he could've had a nexus at every patch and no units! However unlikely you've no way of knowing.
So in short, fix your opening, money spending is good, expand more more more, scout more Just solidifying your fundamentals.
I just wish that Nydus worms weren't audible in THE WHOLE GODDAMN MAP.
Ok but only if Nukes get to work the same way.
Ok but only if nydus unloads quicker.

Terrible decision. All 3 games ended up on Scorched Haven
Game 1 - I'm just getting my 2nd (of 4) warpgate up, I've scouted one of my opponents when.. wait whats that in my base? Canon rush. You have to be kidding me. I briefly try to get away but its the 2nd canon and I only have 1 zealot out. Quit.
Game 2, same map. "Watch out for a cannon rush, they seem popular on this map." "I'm doing that." Cannon rush hurts the Terran, Protoss counters undefended base with 2 gate and partner quits. Ten minutes later I concede as waves of Immortals and marauders overrun my stalkers.
As I leave "man you gave up too early, I won that game (Game 1)."
I then played an OK 3v3 where I decided to expand early to the gold and ended up giving thousands away to my partners because I had more than I could spend. The other three spent most of the game trying to take down my bases (got 2nd gold as well) while I churned out gate units and a huge marauder and crazy huge ling army (like 150 food of zerglings) was built up. Won that one
Game 3, same map. Two Protoss vs Zerg and Toss. My partner again says "yeah I use cannons." He then fast expands using a forge and cannons. OK cool, I can get on board. I expand as well to the natural. We're both building some units but not a whole lot when suddenly he expands in the middle (gold) and starts building tons of cannons around it. I say "lol why not?" I'm clearly playing with an innovative thinker. I've got 9 gates, 2 robo and a starport and I'm getting all these upgrades and we keep fighting off pushes in the gold. And then I get dropped in my main and lose most of my tech and my main/natural. And the gold mines out. And he still isn't pushing.
We ended up getting starved out of the gold because we didn't have a way to spend it fast enough (which seems impossible). I look at stats... he's a Bronze. It wasn't innovation but ignorance and I slapped my forehead. I should have played better instead of following his lead but just a weird game.
... I just played some guy in bronze league, and he was slightly favored to win the match. I sent 16 speedlings into his base, and he had one zealot built.
I wanted to give him a hug. It was like my games right after placement, but in reverse.

I didn't get that from the game at all. The big thing is that you were at 106 food, and he was at 60 something. You could have easily swept it then and there. Granted, you didn't know this, but that's only because you didn't attack, poke, prod, etc against him.
Watching the next game, I also noticed you at 11 marines, not attacking against a single stalker. Again, you couldn't have known it was a single stalker unless you went and looked, but that's why you go and look.
I had a guy over commit to reapers and I was going factport, killed his initial reapers and rolled up his ramp with 2 tanks 2 marauders a banshee and 2 marines, killed 3 reapers in his base and 2 rines.:(
I heard once that the whole "slightly favored" thing only considers your W/L ratio - whoever has the better one is favored, regardless of league or actual match history, etc.
I played an hour+ game versus a zerg today and won, but he did something strange. Are you supposed to be able to neural parasite while burrowed, or is that an exploit?
Why isn't there an actual...you know...infest terran spell? It doesn't make any sense that the infestor spawns humans that are already infested from inside them. WTF is that, really? When does this infesting occur and why can't I do it?

I believe it's an exploit but I think Blizzard is actually making it normal in the patch. Or I may be mixing fake patch notes - I really don't know anymore.
I heard once that the whole "slightly favored" thing only considers your W/L ratio - whoever has the better one is favored, regardless of league or actual match history, etc.
No idea if that's true, though.
It compares your rating VS your opponent's MMR. According to team liquid, it means that two opponents can see each other as both favored. For example, two bronze players who both regularly beat platinums will face each other and both see a favored opponent, then one of them will win and get 20 points while the other one loses 1 point. This is also why a player who has a lower MMR than rating will just hemorrhage points, gaining only 1-2 on a win while losing 20 on a loss.
I always had hard time vs Terran because the good ones (1000+ points) just kite my zealots or focus fire my stalkers. While Immortals are too slow to get into combat. These guys are better players than me, I have no clue how to deal with it just yet..
Let me say for the record that I didn't come up with the Immortal exploit, that was discovered by two other guys(simultaneously). Their name will remain anonymous but just take it from me, that the project as a whole is developed by a small team of guys who are just doing this for fun.
Here is a replay that does it justice. The replay is Protoss vs Protoss.
If you think I maphaxed, I didn't. As you could see in the bad replay(OP post) I had no idea the guys scv was still in my base ready to scout out my dark templars.
Anyway to solve all these problems I decided to use sentries.
This replay shows something I built for sentries so I can relax in my base and make Immortals while the enemy tries to get in. There is no maphax because I don't believe in it...
Sure there is a lot of haters out there and I really don't blame you for being a hater. I'm the opposite of you, but that is just the fact of life there is always going to be polar opposites. Pro-gamers and Pro-exploiters.
It makes sense to hate me because I tilt the games advantage for myself.. But there are other ways of looking at it.
For one this isn't public, and it never will be. All involved have been there and done that, we have no intention of ruining the game for everyone. Secondly we're not trying to keep it a massive secret, we don't care if you find out about what we discover, it's purely for entertainment. We are not trying to keep it a secret and sneak into some tournament league diminishing the integrity of the game, we are just playing as you do, with a few bent rules.
I guess if you have been hurt by warp'n immortals, on behalf of our small team, we're sorry. Just look on the bright side, not many people get to go up against these things.
Peace.
There's like this weird sort of morality built around their decisions. I mean, my reaction would be "if you're going to hack in one way, why not every way?" but it looks like it's more complicated than that.

All macro is retarded cheese. You should just reaper rush and then double-click an SCV and hit S.
That's how the pros do it, cheesemonger.

though, if Immortals were warpgate units, it'd certainly make their cost:benefit ratio a little more favorable
(okay, a lot more)
Make nukes go off in less than half the time.
Screw double robo, the quad-robo rush is born.
Make the red dot bigger.
Make the nydus worm castable under buildings and it destroys the building when it pops up.
Make Immortals immortal.

Mostly because it was underused on corruptors and they weren't really worth their cost and couldn't contribute anything vs a ground army.
