Well, they seem to be figuring out some cross server stuff. The Consignment houses in I9 are cross-server. Heroes and Villains can't trade with each other, but they can trade with all heroes or villains on every server.

Which, hopefully, will allow us to transfer some of that sweet sweet infamy/influence from Virtue to Victory so that all of our team/scheme night guys aren't paupers.
Not that my Virtue guys have any money that wasn't given to me either. My highest Virtue guy is 20.

Man, back in I1, if you were good about selling, you could buy a full set of level 15 DOs at level 12. Upgrade them to level 21 at level 18, and then load up on SOs at 22 and beyond. It would get tight sometimes, and I wouldn't always be able to afford to at least fill up my primary abilities with enhancements.
There was a guy on Victory once, BoBByBoMB, that had SEVEN accounts running at one time. He had some awesome Fire Tanks and could PL w/ the best of em. He played until shortly after I5. Or maybe I6. He came back briefly during the winter event but he died of complications from his leg surgery he recently had.
What we really need is the ability to use the character to character email system in game to send items and influence to other characters.
Its not like the in-game email is used for anything else!
huh?
the game has e-mail?
I can't tell if you're joking or not because it really is a seriously underused feature.
no i'm serious. If you can't mail anything, I could see how it would be underused. Most people have actual e-mail, or IM or whatever if they want to talk to their offline friends. an in-game e-mail system is only really useful if you can mail items/money. Otherwise, what's the point?
So yeah, I didn't know. Now I do, but I won't be using it.
The e-mail was useful before Global chat but now you can just leave offline global messages so it is rather useless. E-mailing items would be bomb diggity.

leave global messages? There's something new for me.
And for the record, I have used the ingame email a few times. Communicating with you guys before global was implemented and then conversing with my cousin. (Both while I was in Guam and about 18+ hours ahead of everyone except Crim and the Spookymuffins.)
Thats happened to my brother before since they don't keep the game cards inside their display box. They didn't seem to give him any trouble about it when he brought it back though.
Well, sorry Nocren... the game crashed, and now I've got to re-download the client.
Should be done soon, though - anyone up for some grouping tonight? I've got a 13 controller, 19 controller, and 6 or so brute that I'm trying to level. Have a few higher-level characters, but I'm kinda bored with them.

You can send a tell to someone's global even if they aren't online. They get them when they logged in. I seem to recall we abused the hell out of Accualt with that feature when global first came out.

No problem Serial. I just helped NAND out for abit then went to dinner.
He went in-depth with every power in his build and for like every IO set. A quicker surface scan and a specific idea of what bonuses you'd rather have could probably tell you what's best, but yea, after reading that it makes me realize that after I9 hits I'm going to have to sit down with all my 50s, figure out what sets they need most, and do some respeccing...
I probably just need to read up on IOs, see how the market develops, and then hope the char planners get up-to-date. I really know almost nothing about IOs, so that guide was... eye-opening.

> turn on light Good start to the day. Pity it's going to be the worst one of your life. The light is now on.
Good lord. IO slotting in I9 sounds like a hassle. Someone tell me that guide is making it sound more complex than it really is.
Thats a full out min/max tweaked build using the special set IOs. The Set IOs are where it gets complicated. The regular IOs are not complicated, at all.
Given the extreme ease with which you can dupe influence on the test server, I really don't think the test period tells us much of anything worth knowing about the economy. Especially when you keep in mind that the Consignment Houses are cross server (but not cross faction. No heroes buying from villains), and will have a much, much, larger pool of people playing with them.
so what's the story with dark astoria? It seems like a creepy cool zone; why doesn't anyone play there? Also; why is everything dead?
The Banished Pantheon tried some spell to kill Paragon City or something, it went wrong and all it did was semi-raise the dead from the Astoria cemetary. Everyone moved out after that.
As for playing there, like all game-launch hazard zones, it has no contacts or story arcs in it, so the only reason to go there is when you have a specific mission to go there.
Yeah, that's why I went there. I wonder if they're going to slowly revamp all the CoH hazard zones like they have with Faultline and Hollows to be more like CoV.
I've been playing mainly CoV the last bit, I was trying to play my Team Night guy to catch up this evening and forgot that unlike CoV, contacts are more than happy to give you missions in totally random ass zones regardless of their level, or what zone the contact is in. Annoying. I like the "contained" missions in CoV, it just makes things more streamlined.
Yea, it's pretty much why we did Police Bands from 1-15 for Team Night...the Safeguard temp powers are nice, but just all the running around would've taken up a big chunk of the two hours.
also, maybe it's just me, but villain missions seem to give a hell of a lot more xp than hero missions.
Maybe it's because 75% of missions on villain side are arcs; 75% of missions (that I've done outside of faultline) on hero side are random trash missions.

I think we'll see absurdly high prices on recipes early on, they will gradually fall. lvl 50 non-set IOs are going to be cheap as fuck after the first few weeks, or so I imagine, because of all the badge hunters trying to get the 60 various new badges which revolve around Inventions. I look forward to it since high lvl IOs are more powerful than SOs.
Oh yeah, the common IOs are going to be dirt fucking cheap. Actually, you guys may as well save your money cause chances are I am going to be mass producing a bunch myself (my name is CJ, and I'm a badgeaholic  ).
The other thing with Dark Astoria, though it doesn't effect everyone the same way: there's a bug in DA's code somewhere that ramps up the data transfer for no particular reason. basically, walking into DA (iirc) more than doubles how much data the game pushes, and lots of people on shittier connections (myself included) get higher amounts of lag and disco errors there. Plus, you know, no contacts. and jumping headlong into buildings in the fog.

It's not jumping into buildings that annoys me, it's landing in the middle of a fuckton of shamans and assorted corpses that pisses me off.
Dark Astoria's my favorite zone in the game, visually.
Back in the days before every mob had a a built-in sniper-ranged attack, I farmed the shit out of that zone on my fire/devices blaster.
...then the nerfing started.
I really miss I1. Not that the game hasn't improved in a lot of ways, since then, but I feel decidedly less super these days.

Then again sitting there and aoeing mobs that don't have a chance to even react is not exactly what I would call feeling super...that just feels cheap.
I felt truly super in the big 8 man purple mob missions where you COULD die but you kicked a lot of ass so you usually didn't..like a comic book.
what I want is a FFA zone where there is nothing but AV's (or heroes), where the ragdoll physics is turned up 100x what it normally is; with semi-destructible buildings and stuff, so you shoot an AV with something with knockback and he flies through 3 buildings.
Just because.
They don't even have to give XP or enhancements. Hell, make it PvP too, I don't care. I just want to be able to blast dudes through stuff; and have the comic book feel of attacks having significant weight to them.
Or not even that extreme. take cargo ship missions. Make the stupid crates destructible. Make the ragdoll physic engine do damage to terrain objects when struck; but not NPC/PC's. I want powers to have "meat". Some do already, but most don't. When I throw a fireball into a group and blasts 75% of the HP off 12 guys, something should change. They shouldn't just take it and start running toward me. I realize not all attacks could/should have knockback/down but I dunno how they'd implement it but this is what I'm saying I want, in some form or another.

Lucky most of it was with time cards, so I never really got just how much I was paying for the game.

So I was gonna wrap up my stuff for my sister, and I notice the top of the CoV time card box is already open. I check it out, and bam
I paid $30 for an empty box
And I'm not gonna have time to return it til Sunday, while my parents are taking stuff down for her tomorrow.
In conclusion, fuck Gamestop.
just wait till you try to get a refund. "fuck gamestop" is going to seem polite.

That man takes his CoX seriously. He probably put more time into that one guide than I have for all 15credits this semester combined.

Because you cant fucking see 2 feet in front of you in that zone?
