Anyone besides the winning Omeganaut going to this? I'll be there on the 19th. I missed out on getting the premium passes, so I think I'm going to be waiting in line outside for a long time. Time for Mario Kart!

I may or may not be. Haven't quite decided yet as I haven't looked at what else I'm doing.. I went two years ago, but the line moves actually pretty fast from what I remember. At least, the one outside. The stuff inside is kinda slow.

Do you have any suggestions for what to do there/how to see the most of the expo hall? I only have one day, so I'd like a good game plan.

I will be there. And I will probably be hanging out with the IGN editors who will be there.
I have access to both business days and the public days and I am staying at the Hotel Francs.

I think we should get Kwolf to buy us all a round of drinks when we see him. We all know that he's got plenty of money to spend in Japan. :winky:

For seeing the expo hall, I just kinda wander around till something catches my eye. I tend to steer away from the blockbusters because really, you can go anywhere to find information on Need For Speed or Medal of Honor. I like going for the lesser known games that might otherwise fall off my radar. Any of you got Japanese cell phones or may e going to rent one? Might be fun to try and meetup at the show.

I am going to contact AT&T today to find exactly how much it will cost for me to send text messages to and make calls to my friend's Japanese cell phone from my iPhone. If it seems to expensive or they can't tell me, I will rent a cell phone at the airport.

I'm eventually going to get a Softbank phone, as per the recommendation of my friend, but I can't do that until I get my alien registration card. I hadn't heard about rental phones, though. I might get one until my card comes through.
mentok: from what I understand, American phones just don't work in Japan. I could be wrong, though. If AT&T comes through for you, I'll be pleasantly surprised!

Meeting up would be pretty cool. I may bring a PAX shirt or a PAX badge so that I'm recognizable in case I don't have a phone :P

I've been staying in Akasaka without internet, so I haven't been able to post until now (in Kyoto, on my way back to Tokyo later today). I forgot all of my PAX stuff in the States (:(), but I'll be wearing a dark blue polo shirt with the Nintendo logo on it. I may not have internet for another few days after I leave Kyoto, so I hope to run into you guys at TGS!
