Vlad was doing good mid (almost killed me at 5) but then he tried again at 6 and that is a poor idea
he puddled away just in time but wait no I had two DoTs on him and he died
and then it snowballed and snowballed until I was an untouchable god
I'm trying to decide between him and kennen.
They are both so damn fun.
Get Malzahar so that when I play with you I can be Kennen.
Edit: And, I mean, wow, Akali is really hard to play. I just want to reiterate that. If I choose Akali and I'm playing with anyone, I'm TRYING TO LEARN
Well, WCG was less of a stomp than I was expecting. I guess that's to be expected, considering that two of the players on CLG (Kobe and Elementz) aren't really part of the team that plays together on ladder. On ladder, the team is basically all asian people (Lilballz, etc.) + Hotshot (you should watch the stream when he plays with them, it's hilarious. Lots of people talking in Mandarin, and Hotshot speaking in broken Engrish for some reason to try to fit in).
A bit disappointing that observer mode was so ghetto, and that lag played such a huge part in the finals.
Also, for people saying that the games were decided by mistakes, well, that's to be expected. The skill level of the top players is not super high right now because:
1) None of the Asian players were allowed into WCG
2) LoL lacks basic features required for a competitive game, like observer and replay, which means not many competitive players are attracted to the game.
Before we get into specifics or horribly derail this thread, the above post is also racism by definition.
So uh, why be selective when just making a simple observation? "AWESOME LOL PLAYERS ARE ASIAN" "BRAZILIAN PLAYERS ALL BAD"
Sorry if I was being unclear, but I meant Asian nationality, not Asian ethnicity. Currently, 6 of the top 10 players were denied entry into CLG because of lack of North American or European citizenship.
All of these top 15 players:
grandjudge, a Lilac, LilBallz, Laoching, nolja, Many Reason, Sabertiger
live somewhere in Asia and therefore were not allowed to play.
I'm not saying that all players living in Asia are good. I'm basically just referring to those 7 names above. I watched Hotshot's stream a lot, and I can tell you the team that most consistently gave them trouble wasn't AoN (they won like 90% of their games against AoN), but grandjudge's team (grandjudge, a Lilac, nolja, Many Reason, then someone else maybe Sabertiger?).
Besides being really good, grandjudge is just one of my favorite players to watch (he plays really aggressive heroes like Singed, Kassadin, Shaco). Also Many Reason is perhaps the best Anivia player, and he pulls off some insanely clutch walls.
I'm just lamenting that one of the top teams and two players from the other top team weren't allowed to play because of citizenship in a supposedly international tournament.
are we talking about ubergeek here? because from levels 1-20, I would on several occasions have 19+ deaths. I'm pretty terrible at this game. Just keep playing and having fun.
Well Zolnab, Incog and I tried queiing and things didn't go well. First game one moron takes jax, but has a high ping during the loading screen and disconnects, never comes back. However, the other team was so bad we were rocking them in teamfights. We still had to surrender. Second attempt we got in, I took Kennen and Zol took Tris again. Of course, this means our 2 pubs should take Ez and Kog. ~Facepalm~ So Incog takes Amumu, and we face a Mord, Kat, Nidalee, Gangplank,....and someone I can't recall. We lost by 10 minutes in since Ez wasn't roaming around ganking and Kog was terrible.

I honestly think you just need to stick with one char and keep playing to have fun.
If having fun means queing with lvl 30s, so be it, but play a character you WANT to play.
I've found it's much easier to learn a character you're interested in and think they're rad, then a character you SHOULD play.
It is also a hell of a lot funner.
I feel bad cause you're new and I don't want you to get discouraged. You're not even that bad, you're actually quite decent, just there's so much to learn in the beginning, such a huge learning curve.
Ah, seems like just yesterday that ubergeek was just a noob learning the character's skills. Now he is complaining about noobs in the queue. The cycle is complete. Well, not really a cycle I guess, more like a straight line:
Be a noob -> Complain about noobs -> Stop caring and play AP Teemo

Well my learning curve has come to the realization that if it was a straight up fight with none of this mastery or runes bullshit, and everyone had all the summoner spells available at lv 1, then there'd be an even playing field based solely on player skill. Being expected to 1). grind 30 levels before you're fully on an even level of all available options, and 2). not having the roster available to everyone at the start, allowing people to cherry pick the most favored with IP for the current metagame, but the lv 1's have to get stomped by vlads and kog maws, and to a lesser extent 3). in a normal game all you get is blind pick, you learn nothing about counter picking and banning, etc. So once you do get high enough for rnaked you get tossed into the deep end again (assuming you haven't played this type of game before).
Now I can fully understand their revenue model, but the sheer amount of cash and/or IP (with playtime) you need to have everything you need to make a well informed decision as far as what champ to take into a fight is staggering.
Yeah that a rant up there all right. Needed to vent, sorry. It's just they made everything so very restrictive from the outset, and they want to be taken seriously in competitive gaming, and they barely have a spectator mode thrown together. It's just a bunch of odd decisions that put new guys at a bigger disadvantage than there ever needed to be.

This all leads back to you needing to just find a champ you are into a bunch.
Everything you mentioned above falls into place once you dig a champion a lot.
Skills, counters, extent of your abilities and when to engage/when not to will all come into play when you get super comfortable with a champion.

Yea, I'm sad that support has been so neglected lately with all the new champs. I love playing support the most but I never get any new ones. Yeah, there have been tanks like Galio, Shen, Garen, etc. But I want me more support! I think I will be playing more Kayle now. Because Kayle is a BOSS.

I die so much with Kayle and I can never, ever rape like people do with her.
I don't get it.
People melt bitches with her.
Also I want support so bad, a bard is just what this game needs now.

Yep, that's Sona. She should be out soon, and then I think Irelia after her?
"Shurelia, what should I do I have lost every game for the last 2 days, should I just get a gun and blow my brains out or quit playing.....because this has just become terrible. I cannot even have fun with this game, the amount of stupidity and losses has pushed me over the edge! So what should I do for this problem, end my life or quit this game?"

Kennen so far is what I like, but I can't help but think it's because he's one of the ones that most say is OP. Problem is I can't afford to drop all my IP on him. I'm sure there are others that I'd be good at, but they aren't free right now. Maybe Mordekaiser, or Pants, or Nidalee. Twisted Fate looks like he could be fun, and I know Teemo is "bad" but I've seen him played enough to know that if you get it to work he -is- fun. Then there's guys like Vlad and Warwick, and if I was 30 and had the runes I could make a good showing with Zilean. The trend of them introducing more and more heroes doesn't make this easier. At some point they have to stop making new ones, right?
guess they haven't seen my zero losses (since i hit level 30 and learned how to play anivia well)
