The graphics and atmosphere, at least for the first chapter, are just miles ahead of Halo 3.
So far I think I prefer ODST's night vision to Reaches, but we shall see. They're the same, in effect, but I liked the style of ODST's.

I don't have the game yet, but I've glanced at the achievements and I don't see any for skulls. Are there any skulls in Reach?
I liked the first elite fight, especially if you're on a high difficulty

Wow, how many trees did they kill to make all the supplementary materials?
The framerate is awful, the graphics are barely better than Halo 3 if not just different. Jaggies also seem to be worse. Maybe I don't play enough console FPS's, but I'm finding it impossible to aim and hit anything, even at slow camera movement speeds. I've bought and played every Halo campaign to completion but Reach feels like absolutely nothing new to a bigger degree than any of the previous games. I'm trying to be as open minded as I can, but maybe I can't get past my general boredom with the shooting in every Halo game after the first. I'll still finish this, but for some reason I thought this game would show some actual change since the last game.

So just as Reach was finishing installing the internet decided to stop working for the house for some reason. So I've played through the first few levels offline. Now it's working again, just in time for me to go to sleep for a while, hooray! :?
Tried the first level out on Legendary, that took a while... knocked it down to Heroic for the rest of it so far. Good challenge right now, fun but not impossible.
Went to GameStop, picked up my reserved copy, traded up for someones canceled Limited Edition, went to Best Buy for my friend to pick up a copy, and I wound up getting a Reach beanie and an inflatable energy sword for buying a 1 month Netflix card.
Got home, unboxed and stared at the beautiful contents, entered in all the codes, got pissed because there was an error, installed the game, re-downloaded all the content, and fell into bliss.
Also as I played I enjoyed myself a Halo 3 Game Fuel. I'm not even joking.
Best-Buy seems to be overstocking, when I went there, they had big stacks of legendary editions, and enough limiteds to go around.
So after buying my limited edition, I walked out with:
Limited Edition Halo:Reach
UNSC shirt (which I am wearing)
UNSC hat (which I wore on the drive home)
Inflatable energy sword
so much swag.

Woo, finally have Reach! As expected, two customers genuinely asked if I had played the game yet, so mad.
Played through a couple of campaign missions, it feels strange getting back into Halo after so much CoD, but it didn't take long for me to get back into the groove. I'm enjoying the campaign so far.
I love that you can see the armour/emblem your friends are using, nice to see the different tastes in armour.

there are collectables in reach. That's all I know. I have no idea what they are, but yes there is hidden stuff like the skulls to collect
