Hmmm..I think we should shoot for a couple metatags. TBK:Reach 1 & 2, or something such as that? I'd like to say I'd have no problem managing it, though I'd be worried I wouldn't be on often enough to do so. I realize Reach is a pretty huge release with the potential number of PA'ers wanting to be on the list, but it's pretty much the best, most reliable way of gathering everyone up. Let me know what you guys think.
Badman should put my Twitter thing in the OP again. It's basically an infinite clan tag.

I love Joust. You may have sold me on this. I will have to try it out sometime.

I just realized while playing BTB on spire that I'm really not enjoying the maps on reach that much.
Halo 3 had maps (The Pit, Guardian, Construct, Narrows) that were nice and simple that offered fast and frantic gameplay yet you could play tactically with a team. Same with Halo 2 maps, but reach is just...eh I'm not feeling them.
The Blood Gultch remake is really lacking Anti-Vehicle weapons, I mean I had a complete halo 1 flashback when my team decided to let the other team steal our tank and we had two tanks just spawncamping the base. Nothing could be done at that point as it took around 18 deaths for us to finally knock out both tanks, and at that point its to much of a difference in score to make a comeback if you have randoms on your team.
Its great to have these big maps, but I'm hoping that either the community makes or Bungie adds a smaller 4v4 / 5v5 map pack with simple symmetrical maps for us to choose from in matchmaking. Things are great and all as is, but I'm starting to get this feeling of the multiplayer gameplay being really random (as in clusterfuck) half the time rather then a fun somewhat "play smart" type of game that past halos have had.
Not that I'm complaining that much, Reach was so worth the purchase and I've had a ton of fun with it...but I'm starting to miss the smaller simple maps.

I love the maps. Especially since a lot of them are Halo 2 remakes, which were my favorite Halo maps of all time. Playing on Reflection really gives me the feeling that I'm playing Halo 2 on Live again. And that's a good thing for sure.

I'd like some opinions if anybody is willing to try this gametype out, it's my first one so I don't even know if I put it together right. Does my gametype work across all the slayer/team slayer maps, is it fun, etc? It's supposed to be a homage to Scouts-N-Knives in old school CS, so you only have magnums and melee weapons.

Did we ever find out what the flair was for playing Halo 2 on the last day? I know you can have the Halo logo with the 2 inside of it next to your name, but I thought that was just playing Halo 2 period. Was there every anything announced for the people who played on the last day? Or am I wrong and it is the Halo 2 logo next to your name?
It was fun to finally get into the multiplayer with some PA people tonight, I had to leave but I wanted to get the firefight challenge for the day done, so I wasn't ditching you guys to shoot grunts or anything.
The Forge World maps seem to vary in quality, for the most part they're good but I find Asylum absolutely terrible.

It's the Halo 2 logo. They only promised it to the last day people at first because they thought they wouldn't be able to run a query on the entire massive database of Halo 2 games, so they guaranteed what they could do which was the last day.
They found a way (or maybe MS helped them) to crunch through the entire Halo 2 game database, so they were able to give it to everyone that ever played Halo 2.
That shit needs to be segregated from the decent game modes.
Exactly how I feel about invasion slayer.
I think that will get better once people figure out how to play it and capture the points for drops of guns and vehicles. It's fun to play once in a while.

I just realized the drop for guns part last game. I feel stupid.

Right now, that map for me is the Cage map built in Forge World. In fact, a lot of the Forge World maps have that mroe classic feel (not least because most of them are remakes, I guess).

This could be true. Still, the learning curve is horrendously painful. And I get the feeling that if you lose a couple of drops in a row then the problem just compounds itself until there's nothing to do.
Are there natural rocket launcher drops on Invasion Slayer? If so, that'd be really helpful.

Well that kind of sucks. I think the people who played Halo 2 in the past deserve it, but I think the people who played on the last day only deserve something special like was promised. But oh well. What can you do? I'm glad I got to play the last day none the less.

Who knows, maybe they have something cooked up still. AFIAK nobody from the holdout days of Halo 2 (post shutdown) has yet to get anything.
Oh hey, there's a free Invasion premium theme on Marketplace. It's quite nice and bright, compared to the Braid one I was using.
I've been using the braid one for ages. I'll have to check this out; I'm due for a change.
I think tomorrow I am going to forgo finishing the campaign and play online a bit. I've never played through a Halo game on Heroic before, and I need a break.

Ok I've been tweaking my gametype and I think I've found a good balance. At first you started with mags and swords, and the only pickups are swords and hammers. Then I realized if you stated with a sword what's the point of littering the map with them. So I removed your starter sword and now all you have is a mag to start and you have to grab a sword off the ground. Better balancing that way. Anybody try it yet?
New minotaur map 66% complete, should be ready for tomorrow night.

We have an IRC channel for the PA Fighting games and it works great as a place to hang out, shoot the shit, talk and organize games. I was wondering if there'd be any interest in a channel like that for Reach/FPS?

Okay, I went ahead and made the channel. It's just me right now, so other people should join and hang out! The link will set you up with the web client, the channel info if you have a client is just irc.slashnet.org #pashooting
im sorry about that little mishap in Paradiso Territories with the tank and the triple betrayal and everything. but to be fair you did jump right in front of the barrel
if its any consolation: though the tank was drivable afterward, it had no turret
I was running around and tearing it up, when I engaged another person. He was able to kill me, but I threw a grenade before I died and when it went off, it took him down for my 10th kill in a row. And the game actually gave me the killing frenzy despite dying at the same time. So I am glad they are doing that now.
I know they were going for the perfect remake but they need to They need to remove the fucking tanks and add one or two rocket launchers / plasma launchers
Also Spire's more fun when you figure out how to get down with out suiciding / Falcon / Jetpack
