I use Tritton AX Pros and I love them, true surround sound, Take a liitle bit to get use to but when you can here guys below you its neat.
They are also comfy as fraggle rock.
I need some help. I was never a big Halo guy and I am really struggling to do good at multiplayer. I did the arena stuff, figuring that'd be a good way to get in and learn since it's a small team, limited starting weapons/abilities, focused gameplay.
But I can't really seem to do good... some games I'll get like 3 kills, and those were just pure luck.
What are some good overall strategies/suggestions/advice?
Specifically:
DMR:
Under what circumstances/distance should I not be using the scope? Every time I do I feel like I shouldn't have. Can I still be precise and headshot even when not zoomed in?
I feel like guys put me down with 3 shots from the DMR, where as I don't think I've ever taken someone down in under 5 or 6 (yes I am aiming for the head)
Stategy:
Is the winning strategy to just play like a dick (and I don't mean this in a bad way, honest). When I lose it's so fucking frustrating cause it's people just hiding around corners or running away the second the battle sways in my direction. And if I try to follow to finish the kill, 9 times out of 10 I die. Should I just move on and not worry about the kill? Should I just be constantly running away? I'm just honestly confused as to HOW I should be playing this game and approaching battles.
Shotgun:
WTF!? It takes like 3 shots.. unless it's someone shooting at me... then it's 1?
RAWR! I dunno, I like video games. I consider myself good at video games, shooters in particular. But for the life of me I just can't figure this one out. Help?

Hey guys!
Helloween, Kikoskia and me just finished work on our little remake of the Unreal Tournament map "Facing Worlds". It's a 2 team CTF map, build for a maximum of 6vs6. It would be great if you could test it out and give us feedback! Here's the download link and some screenshots:
Have fun!

I'll join you T4CT, but I don't have a working mic.
I really enjoy playing with the Bees, but just don't have a taste for Invasion. Which seems to be what many of you play these days. Having 6 doesn't mean we HAVE to play Invasion, right? Two randoms in BTB won't kill us.

A great way to practice head shots (DMR and pistol for example) is to do a matchmaking co-op firefirefight point score. Pick gruntpocolypse game type. It'll be you, your DMR, a pistol and lots of grunts.
When you see the confetti, you scored a headshot.

You need 1) Practice and 2) To find your style. After that a lot of it will come naturally...although you will still suck at some things (most people have weaknesses, this is ok).
"Playing like a dick" like you put it is completely valid, or, as they say in the D&D world "Honor = Dumb". Do not be afraid to run if the going gets tough, hide around corners and ambush guys or gang up on one lone guy. If you can do it without cheating then it's legitimate.
On that note: Stick near a team member at all times! It's not desperate, it's not stupid. Halo is built around the concept that the more guns on a target the better. And for long range it's always good to have or be backup
On the DMR? I wouldn't recommend it as your primary weapon until you've built up your accuracy. The scope can be very jarring and hard to aim at first. To answer your question though? It takes 4 shots + 1 headshot to take someone down (4 shots for shields placed anywhere, one to the head to finish once shields go down).
On the shotgun front? It takes one shot at very close range to take someone down. Aim for the middle of the body, not the head.
In close range battle, learn to love melee. It does a lot of damage and kills instantly from the back. In med range, grenades. They can clear out an enemy in cover, get a retreating enemy, or take down someone's shields before they see you.
Learn to love your radar: If you have a radar, use it. Anyone who's new who I play with always forgets to use it and they often get jumped by people who simply follow them. PROTIP: You show up on the radar if you are walking or moving. If you stand still you don't show up, if you crouch & move you don't show up either.
Try all the loadouts and figure out what you like. Loadouts are different in their usefulness depending on what you're using so try different loadouts with different weapons.
PROTIP: You show up on the radar if you are walking or moving. If you stand still you don't show up, if you crouch & move you don't show up either.
You show up on radar if you're moving full speed, you can walk your guy and not appear
you know if you're showing up on radar because your green dot will appear in the middle of your radar HUD.
Really?
Awesome, thanks.

He's like that one Sergeant that always follows you around in Halo 3. You'll recognize his voice as soon as you hear it. You do know you can sample them before you buy them, right?

Second protip: Talking in game chat provides a small sonar pulse from your radar dot, even if the dot itself isn't visible, and thus can/will give away your location.

correct, it's 4 shots with the DMR or 5 with the pistol ANYWHERE to take down shields and then one to the head or 3 to the body
Do you show up if you are standing and looking arround but not walking anywhere?
Really?
Awesome, thanks.
