Now, to buy a deluxe house or not to buy a deluxe house, that is the question.
I have a deluxe...it's shared storage and you get two chests.
I put cosmetic items in it but I guess with the new cosmetic thing this makes it unnecessary but I have not tried/purchased(?) the new cosmetic sharing thing...

Extra storage: awesome
Extra expensive: bit steep early on.
I didn't have to pay anything for the horse at 35 since I had that Moria goat in the adventurer's pack, so I'm considering getting a deluxe house when I have another two gold.

Are there any other big money sinks later on?
Nothing really. I've only been accumulating more wealth over the months and I used to raid once a week and die a lot. One thing that might cost you a fortune is buying crafting mats from the AH, even the simplest stuff costs a fortune and a full stack of silver ingots or tier2/3 scholar crafting mats would cost you a hobbits yearly wage. As long as you gather your own stuff you can dodge all that.
Biggest expenditures for me are repairs (easily 300s per evening), but one or two skirmishes and I'm good to go again. I also sell dyes after new cosmetic items are released and that nets me a lot of gold.

The biggest expenditures I have found now are trying to craft 65 2nd ages:
5 Legendary Fragments (1-2g each)
1 Symbol of Celimbror (10-15g)
2 Mithril Flakes (250-500s each)
The Symbol and Mithril Flakes can all be obtained through skirmishing. Unfortunately, the Legendary Fragments can only be obtained through the auction house or extreme luck when deconstructing L61+ legendary items.
I cannot even count how many items I have deconstructed by now and have only got 3 Fragments in total. But while levelling between 50-60 I think I ended up with around 100+ Legendary Shards, which are only good for L60 legendary items.
Do i really actually need a herbalist for solo skirmishes? Can i get by with a dps soldier instead? sooooo sick of slowly whittling shit down as a guardian.

10-15g for symbol? That's awesome, they go for ~50g on my server because we haven't had the patch yet.
You get legendary fragments from deconning higher level legendaries, I believe you get a few once they get above lv10.
Unless you're DPS you might as well pick a 3rd age weapon, the extra dps is mostly underwhelming unless it's your job to be kill stuff.
Man I am having a lot of fun with the game but it seems like every other night I still just end up disappointed or frustrated with something that makes me log off with a bad taste in my mouth. I wasn't able to get on much yesterday, and not being able to cap a 10% Class Deed from that day means that it won't be finished for another another day, which is kind of annoying because it's a really important Class Deed.
I love Burglar to death but sometimes I feel like I'm fighting against the class or that things just aren't really fleshed out. I tried the Gambler traits, which ended up being worthless without the Honed Wit Trait (the one I was frustrated I missed progressing), which lets me use Clever Retort outside of Mischief and lowers the cooldown. The Gamble that applies a DoT is pretty good, but the Daze one (Lorebook said it was a Stun, guh) and debuff ones seem less useful.
Some of my Traits unlock additional ways to place Gambles, but they only work from stealth, which means I can't be in Mischief (seriously, the Honed Wit trait which you can't get until a minimum of 10 days after reaching level 40 [despite getting the associated skill at level 32...] is integral to this Trait line) ... and Burgle apparently doesn't work in combat, so it's only useful for opening with, in which case it's a second Daze ... that only works against a narrow subset of humanoids. Buh.
I was also getting annoyed with Addle, which didn't work. At all. Ever. We were doing Skirmishes and most of the time the Lieutenant's awesome "heal myself to full" induction is simply uninterruptable except by Stun/Daze and then anything which should be interruptable by Addle is just either "Resisted" or "Immune," and the Resists are from mobs like 8 levels under me, argh. :x
* The door to the epic area now requires a minimum level of 45 to open.
* Westernesse protection has been removed from several monsters.
* Addressed an incorrect loot assignment.
* Spawn timers on the bosses have been dramatically reduced.
Thank fucking christ.

I'm leveling my burg with The Quiet Knife because of the straight DPS increase, I only use Leaf-Walker from The Gambler for obvious reasons. I might switch later on if I'm going to be in groups more or go a-pvp'ing, but so far I just go for the good ol' "sneak from behind: stab, stab stab stab stab, staaaaabbbbb" tactic.
I'm not sure why you fail at interrupting lieutenants, what's your agility like? I do know some duders are immune to stuns, but I manage to interrupt virtually everything on my Warden.
Can't log on right now, but it was 277 last I checked, mostly thanks to Trollshaws gear.
Also [embarrassingly] my frustrating experience in a Skirmish that drove me to -28% marks last night was apparently because I forgot that I was in a Fellowship to heal one of my lowbie kinmates out on his crafting quest and when I made the Skirmish it automatically created a Duo.
WELL.
I thought they just got a lot harder after level 40!
So, dumb question. Now that this is F2P I am mucking around with my LM again, but it seems that the UI bars that used to pop up when you'd hold down ctrl, shift, or alt are now all up indefinitely, which blocks a not insignificant portion of the screen.
I don't see any option to enable to the toggle version, and google-fu brings nothing. Is this just something they changed, or is there a setting somewhere I am missing?
EDIT: Found it 2 seconds after posting this. I'm an idiot.
I have a question regarding what gets grandfathered in on an old trial account. I created a champion and a loremaster a year ago, and I see that they start with all their bags. What other goodies do they get since their creation preceded F2P?

Would you mind posting where the option is? I may have accidentally done the same thing.
My kin was so ill prepared to do BG last night. You need a Loremaster at least in your raid group or the instance is nearly impossible to do, for sure if you want to do the challenges. It was actually really nice wiping for 4 hours on the first boss. Haven't seen a actual challenge in LOTRO in a real long time. The first boss whacked my once for 32,300 damage.

LMs or Burglars are rather vital, indeed. Durchest is the only fight in game that has not been reduced to a science, no one knows exactly how the -threat debuff is distributed and that makes the fight really random. The HM is extremely difficult because of this. I think it's a bit harder than the last boss of the instance, but I've never tried either Durchest HM or Lieutenant.
Also, did everyone have 120 radiance? That can make a huuuuge difference.
Yeah everyone had at least 120 - 140 rad. We all worked really hard for the last two weeks to get everyone geared up for it.
The gauntlet was a pain at first. We realized that you have to just take it slowly and in little bits at a time otherwise you'll activate spawns at certain points be overwhelmed.
Heh, best part of leveling a Burg is that whenever I do an instance, we have at least one Burg.
Seriously, I can't imagine running something like 3-man Garth on-level without a Burg (or apparently LM, I admit I've seen so few I have no idea what their CC is or how it works ) ... there's a bunch of pulls of 3-4 Hillmen at the start of Barrows, for instance, where 1-2 are elites and the rest are signatures. Guhh.
The 3-man Garths actually seem ridiculously tight in terms of "wanted/needed classes," so I honestly didn't try to find a group and don't care to. I ended up doing 6-man Garth at level 39, 7 levels overleveled, and most of the pulls were the exact same size as those in 3-man Garth ... the only difference is that in the 3-mans, maaybe sooometimes some of the mobs are Signature instead of Elite. Guh!
Meh, I want to see some end-game stuff in LotRO. Oh well, in time.
Don't be in a rush to get there. Honestly leveling up alts and enjoying the game world is a lot more fun. There is a huge grind to get to the end game stuff and very little end game content to actually do.
Did they add more Lieutenants in F2P? I've been doing Stand at Amon Sul on Duo and there are new ones popping up.
The ones you get change depending on size, tier and level. I haven't heard anything about new ones, but you never know. Patch still hasn't reached European shores.

Oh, I'm certainly not rushing anything. It just gets a bit boring when all my quests in North Downs and Lonelands are turning green and grey. :P

The Narsil questline in Evendim sends you to Trollshawls/Rivendel and a few of the repeatable from the Rangers Offensive send you scouting over the bridge and through the shawls.
I got a quest sending me into Angmar, but it's still red. Not sure how to get into Ettenmoors. Should I just walk over to Trollshaws?
I am running out of quests -- have A brother's Plea, A pilgrimage to the Past, Techniques of the Masters, Hillmen of the North, and Orders from the Front. Not sure if those open up new hubs in North Downs or something.

Personally, as a scholar I make 1g a day on the AH on a slow day. Made 2 so far today, 5 after dumping a ton of hunter stuff last week.

Update: this works. make a dwarf on each server, talk to Dwalin and get your turbine points. 10 per server.
It's only once per account if you buy the quest. Then he stops giving you tp and you get the horn once per server I think.
