Almost like it never happened.
ed: i have an interesting story about last night. I was playing my mini, out grinding slayer deeds in Midgewater Marsh when some random Loremaster started following me around silently. He wouldn't say *anything*. He just kept following me around the marshes, occasionally attacking the mobs I was fighting. It was cutely entertaining enough for the first fifteen minutes or so, then it got annoying. I tried (politely) telling him to piss off, but he still wouldn't respond. I'm not certain he owned a keyboard. Eventually (as I'd anticipated) he got bored and went away when I stopped typing at him. Maybe reporting him for harassment might have had something to do with it. >_>
I pretty much only lurk on here, but I have a 14 Hunter on Landroval named Imir, I've mainly just been playing around to see if I would stick with the game. I like it so far so I think I'll be asking for a Kin invite ingame. Just wanted to say hi before I went ahead and did that.

I found a pretty decent guide to in-game mounts. Deals with all types, starter, normal, rep, fest, deed, etc. Can't believe I never saw this before today:

Most of the Fist traits look rather lackluster from what I've seen, but my warden is only 50 and a half. Does it get any better with that line or should I just stick with Spear/Shield with a couple Fist traits in there?

Isn't fist what you build up if you want to be a threat generating machine?
At least, that's how I understood it.
So yeah, if you want to be a warden tank building up fist is a must.

Let's play Mario Kart or something...
Way of the Fist is practically completely useless unless that warden loves PvMP.

Honestly, the only reason I play is for the eventual PVMP, both on my freep and on my creep. Otherwise, after you've beaten all the PVE content, what else is there to do?

Roll an alt so the kin has more than one active healer at the level cap.
I have a 21 runekeeper. But if the rune-keeper will eventually take more than ~18 buttons to play effectively (6 + shift/alt), I'm probably gonna go meh. :P
Also, I don't really want to do Moria again.
I have a minstrel too that's like 12 and it feels so... weak.
Also, all my alts are like completely filled with recipes I'm gonna create at least ANOTHER alt to be the new mule.
And then rep, and crafting, and skirmish marks and...

Heh. I've actually found that the whole experience is made much more rewarding by the free TPs you get every time you complete a deed. I didn't want to do the grind all over again either, but my mini is now level 27, and I'm still really enjoying it.

Ah hah! You do need me then.
I intend to see you all grovel at my mighty healing feet, and then when all is said and done. I shall rule you all!

Not really. For end-game tanking, shield is almost hands down better than fist. The threat bonuses from fist aren't significant enough to make a difference, especially since your best and arguably second-best taunts are actually shield line (Conviction and Dance of War). On the other hand, the heal bonus from shield is huge, especially the boost your group gets from the stacked conviction bonuses.
Fist is really a PvMP line at this point, which is an odd design quirk.

I'm working on getting my RK up to 65, but as my tank has run off to fight a dragon thats started appearing over some other world I'm having to learn how to safely solo stuff for the first time in 40 levels.
Hit 58 last night though, so it's getting closer.
Saying that, if there's grovelling at the feet of healers going on, I'll quite happily accept some

it's a very common misconception to think wardens need +threat. Threat is never a problem for a good warden, wardens generate the most pure threat of all classes. Our problem is survivability and power. We survive solo fights against elites (I kill 20k mobs without breaking a sweat) with self-heals and operate in groups based on how much power we can afford to blow on building aggro without getting 1-shotted by a Devastating hit.
If you want to be a sturdy tank you're best off with equipping the three masteries and 5 shield traits for the Legendary trait that buffs Conviction. The shield traits should be the +1 ticks to all heals and the -power cost for all shield gambits. Legendary items should further increase your heals (+heal to conviction is a must-have for me). You can make do with replacing 2 shield traits with the reduced jav cooldown and power reduction on quick trust, by the way. I wouldn't tank BG like that, though.
When grouping with wardens I often notice they're wasting loads of power on useless gambits. Pulling an AoE when there's only 1 or 2 mobs around, Dance of War on the mob they've been building threat on (great job stealing FS threat while you're already well on top of the aggro list) and staying glued to the same target for the whole fight (once you've built enough aggro on one mob it's pretty safe to move on to the next mob or build some defence buff gambits to reduce the damage you take).
Huzzah! I got a nice new sword for my captain today, it has the -melee%, +To Amrs, and -Kick. The first 2 refoges have been kind, giving me +Cutting Attack% and -Cry%.
Now I just need a swap Emblem for +Strength of Will%
Then I have completed the Legendary lottery for 3 of my characters, and just need a Burg gamble & DPS bag and a DPS knife.

Speaking of legacies, fuck the legacy system mirite? And I mean...fuck it hard.
So I've heard of items having 4 legacies to start with. Which ones? I've not actually seen it myself. I'm assuming it'll probably be L65 2nd ages or some such.

they are apparently working hard on a way to get rid of much of the random nature of the LI system.

There was a decent 65 2nd age 2H Captain Sword up for bidding of 15g and buyout of 20g with 2 days to go.
I plop down the opening bid, and wait out the 2 days. On the final day with just 1 hour left, someone pops in and pays the buyout.
I had the 5g more, but figured someone would put down another bid or something on it... ahh well, c'est la vie.

I mean, I can replace the whole OP of this thread with

Anyway, I reserve my mockery for 3B only. It's like one of those playground 'I hate you, I love you' things.

Carry on.

I shall probably ask every day in-game until our kin wardens get their legendary trait.
In the meantime, I have to grind out a fuckton of skirmish marks so I can actually BUY my helegrod piece.
Also, where's a good place to get 65 LIs besides skirmish vendors? And what do they cost?

Shield for survival (esp. solo instancing)
