I liked in the beta how rallies were attack move. So you literally could simply focus on macro and never turn your screen to the battle cause you could just stream your units if you so chose.
Played a fun, long-ass, mistaken ridden match with TRoss tonight. It was a TvT, so expect the usually crap. We both made tons of mistakes and would love some advice on how to get better.

That list isn't totally correct. Idra got 2nd in IEM and isn't listed there, and that was a much bigger tourney than most of those that were counted. I don't know what other kind of omissions it may have

He also says on the second page that he may update the list for players with 2nd place wins only, it was simply too time consuming at first.
Heh. I had a ridiculous moment in an FFA today: I went to snipe a zerg army during a fight with five ghosts, and instead launched a bunch of nukes (either 3 or 5, not sure how many I had in my silos.)
That's right people, the hotkey for sniper round is R. The hotkey for sniper round is not N.
What's miraculous is that: they connected. Zerg wiped my army, but then got slammed by my nukes. Pretty happy about the whole thing.
Yeah. I mean, people give me shit in here for bitching about Zerg being underpowered, but I don't really feel bad when stuff like this comes up and Blizzard themselves acknowledges that there are balance issues that need to be addressed.

Yeah, I don't know so many people (even out of those who wish no one would talk about balance) that don't think Zerg need some help. We've just... gone over it. Zerg got smacked hard by the nerf stick in beta. It never really went on long enough to let them recover from the roach food nerf. Zerg will get a bit of help. Be patient, young Skywalker.
bah! cant find that ZvT 2 base muta vs mmm replay. it was yesterday too, must have been one game past the number of replays it saves man you should be able to go back and dl old replays anytime. the score screen is nice and all, but I want the whole thing!

Zerg needs lots of help, protoss needs a little help. The zealot nerf is going to make this much, much worse.
I think every single game I've ever won of SC2, I've won because of macro.
One day I will meet a man worse at micro than me. One day.
I need to get more into the macro mentality, especially as a zerg player. I crap out around the 8-9 minute mark, and I'm in the not-sure-what-to-do-next stage. Every time I have good macro, I win. Every time I botch it, I get pwnd (I know, obvious realization). I just need to be more consistent.
Zerg seem to me to have the hardest macro. I'm not judging them as UP, I'm just saying. The upshot is that good or great macro pays more dividends for zerg than for toss or terran.

sure, it pays dividends that then get crushed by stimmed marines, sieged tanks, etc etc etc...
i guess that they can try to fix it with tweaks, but the skew towards terran looks to be a bit more drastic than Blizz is admitting.
it's just not something you can do on the fly. even though I don't play terran a lot I can skill hit 4 mmee while moving my units around. zerg you have to look at your minimap and target stuff.

No, Protoss are mostly fine. The zealot nerf will help tremendously in making PvP enjoyable again. Later in the game the 5-second delay means you'll perhaps have an extra warpgate; the difference will be very minor.
I sort of wish they'd buff carriers and make the DT building a little cheaper. DTs see occasional use I suppose, but I'm the only player I've run into who uses carriers "for real" and half of that is because I think they're cool. In almost all cases void rays and/or colossi are more effective.

The zealot nerf means that you'll have less of them for a meat shield to the stalker-raping marauders. i think that removing stalkers "armored" designation away would improve balance issues a lot. EMPs take away such a huge hunk of protoss health, that a group of a dozen marauders and 3-4 ghosts can completely destroy a well built 4gate army.
Immortals are crazy expensive, build horribly slowly, require an extremely expensive (slow to produce) building, and have a range of 5, with no splash. This is the counter to the faster, (much) longer ranged, cheaper tank, quicker build time, that also does splash? You shouldnt have to get to Tier 3 to get units that do damage to more than 1 unit at a time.
Terrans can heal their army fairly rapidly with either medivacs or scv repair. There is no healing mechanic for Protoss outside of waiting for shield regen. BW had Shield Batteries.
The cost, build times, and food consumption of PvT equivalent units and buildings are completely out of whack. If P is supposed to be more expensive, because they're more powerful, then make the individual units actually more powerful.
---
And PvT isn't the biggest problem. Zerg's are just fucked 7 ways to sunday, by both Terran and Protoss.
The Battle.Net login screen says...
"We will be performing scheduled maintenance beginning on Tuesday, September 14, at 5:00 AM PDT and we expect the service to be available again at approximately 11:00 AM PDT. During this time the Battle.net servers and any online games will be unavailable for play."
I believe that translates to 8:00 AM EDT and 2:00 PM EDT.
FINALLY NEW PATCH?!

There was a game in the IEM where the toss player, very far behind, massed carriers and HTs in the middle.
Storms forced vikings to flee while the carriers killed them and cleaned everything else up.
It would be hard to imagine any other combo keeping him alive that long against mass siege tanks, vikings and marauders. It was very cool to see such good use of carriers.
I'm blanking on the players involved, unfortunately.

Eh, toss get the best early harassment in the game in the form of the probe. Continued on into early game - they can poke bunkers with stalkers and run away, recharge shield, and then continue.
Ghosts are ridiculously expensive, take a long time to build, and need at least 25 seconds to have enough for an emp.
Like...ghosts just aren't that broken and toss have plenty of ways to respond to them. I know because I lose to toss players on fairly regular occasions. You basically need to deviate from your tech path just to make a unique building dedicated to ghosts - and that building and the unit itself are mineral and gas intensive.
They are pretty much useful only because of emp in the TvP match up (snipe/cloak is arguably useful to kill HT, but requires VERY good micro) - so what you do is you engage outside of your base, force him to use it if he's pushing early game, back off, recharge shield, and then laugh - because in order to get that ghost and push early he had to sacrifice either army or econ.

So I played a long PvT and feel like a should have either won a lot earlier or lost. What is the most important thing for me to work on?
I'm guessing:
1. Hotkeys
2. Macro
3. a lot of other stuff.
