It's that time of the year again. The time when we fill out a lot of paper work and hopefully get some of the money that we've paid the government over the last year back.
I just got my W2 today and filed my return online about an hour ago. I'm at least getting more than I did last year.
Anyone else file yet?
Can we get the chemicals in. 'Cause anything's better than this.

Thanks to having a father who is an accountant, I will be getting a tax refund of a little over $3000.

How? I'm getting only 10% of that.
Do you make a ton or do you have them deduct a lot over the year?

Man, I don't know what to do about my taxes. I'm on a fellowship that doesn't get the taxes taken out beforehand, but I was on payroll for two months over the summer working two jobs for the university, so they took out much more taxes than I actually owe in the end. Plus, I spent ~$1500 on dental care, and I think I can use this as a deduction but I frankly don't know how. I might be screwed, and I might be in great shape. I just don't know.

Funny you mention that; there's a possibility I'll be moving out of the country this year.

The problem is that I'll be moving back in about a year.
Good mother-in-law or Evil mother-in-law that wants to see you thrown in jail for tax fraud?
good. she cooks me dinner on sundays.
Do you taste poison? Even a little?
She's a little light on the salt, and every meal somehow involves corn, but it is otherwise okay.
On the Cob? Creamed? DETAILS MAN.
you know that part of Forest Gump where the retard goes on and on about the different kinds of shrimp that can be prepared? Just replace shrimp with corn.

Yay me?
Hopefully, I won't have a repeat of last year, where I had to pay over $1000 in taxes
You have until April to do it. But you can do it anytime you get your W2.

Maybe I'll actually do them this year but that also means I'll have to do the other 3 years prior to that.
Hmmm.
Too bad it all goes to the wife...
I have heard that getting more than $1100 or so back is wasteful. Your deductions were too high and you could have better invested the other monies.

Nothing. Do it.
Did you do no deductions?
I did minimum last year and had to pay $150. I did a little more this year and got money back.
unless you count on a refund... then you're just dumb.
I put ketchup on my corn.
Does that make me less of a man?
Yep, good ol' naporeon is about to get the dry thumb, folks.
