I'm in the process of applying for a job, and part of the application requires you to attach an mp3 demo. The catch being that they've limited the filesize, it has to be 2mb. My demo is not 2mb, and try as I might I've not been able to get it down that low.
I've got a 3.1mb mp3 version of the file. I'm assuming my best option would just be to compress it somehow, but if there's another thing I can do I'm open to options.
I've tried looking for a free compressor, and most of what I come across either doesn't do that, or I need to buy. Can anyone point me in the right direction of a compressor, or tell me some way I can get this file trimmed down in size?

Compressing the file could make it larger, try re-processing the file using Audacity and the lame mp3 encoder by lowering the kilobytes settings to something like 96k.
