Honestly, I don't know why they would bother chasing those GoW numbers.
I think GoW was just a right place, right time deal because I honestly don't understand the appeal of playing an average action game with really nice setting and a protagonist whose angry all the time.
Also, in the first 2 GOW games, Kratos had some range (not a WHOLE lot but some) as a character. And the people you were killing were bigger assholes than Kratos. In GOW3 that little bit of likability Kratos had, and being less of a dick than the gods, was out the window. So the spectacle, presentation and level design were still intact, but the story went in the toilet.

What I didn't like in 3 especially was how many situations there were when I'm forced to do something incredible stupid, just because Kratos is.... Kratos.
I wished cutscenes back, so that I could complain, but not be bothered by it.

Actually, I was pretty firmly in Kratos' corner in GOW 3.
The gods were egotistical self serving monsters that needed to die.
The hardest difficulty that you can set the game to on the first playthrough is probably somewhere between easy and normal for any other Devil May Cry game. I died a couple times on Nephilim, but that was mostly due to me being dumb. There's an area late in the game where you takes tons of damage from mistimed platforming. I don't think I ever died twice in a single chapter.

Just got through the first mission on the hardest starting difficulty. Um.
There are two lower difficulties. Do the enemies just impale themselves on your sword and eat your bullets?
They wanted the this game to be more accessible to general players. The difficulties do get harder as you unlock them. You have two more to go before you get to the one hit kills difficulties.

Typically I never play through games more than once unless they are a rogue-like or something. So I doubt i'll be experiencing any of those other difficulties. Guess I should have paid more attention to what this game was about. Shame. My fault though.

That's more like it.
I don't actually know if that's a person or just a channel where someone posts random japanese vidjas from nico nico. And by random I mean cherry picks all the best ones.
If I could read japanese I'd probably be able to work it out.

(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.
Before anyone replies be aware that the QA for this game was actually handled by Capcom.
Oh I don't doubt that for a second.
The airborne spinning enemy glitch doesn't bother me too much. This is UE3, we know it can be goofy, and that stuff can be hard to reliably duplicate.
Dante flying? That actually excites me. I put the game down for awhile to focus on titles I hadn't beat yet, but now I just want to fly around and see areas and angles I was never meant to.

The flying is one of them glitches I can get behind.
The bugged bosses is just face palmy though. Especially the one which bugged out when he was a long way away shooting e&i.
That's like, beginner dmc 101. How the hell?
I wonder what game that reminds me of.
I think that boss may just be broken. He froze for me like that a number of times, and I was just using standard melee attacks. He'd recover if I stopped damaging him, but otherwise he would just stay stunlocked indefinitely.

Public Service Announcement: Bloody Palace DLC will be released on 02/20/13 for XBL/PSN. Still no word on Vergil's Downfall.
I'm sad they haven't said anything more about Vergils Downfall, its like the lower than expected sales numbers just made them think "Well hell, why bother."

Doubt it is that.
Just that storyline stuff tends to take a bit longer than new gameplay modes. And chances are they were working on the Bloody Palace stuff before the game was in stores.

Public Service Announcement II: Vergil's Downfall DLC will be released on 02/28/13 for XBL/PSN.
I believe it is six new missions totaling roughly 3-5 hours of gameplay. That's fairly substantial; I'm stoked.
I just got this game yesterday as a valentine's day present. Nothing says I love you like "I want to watch you kill demons in cool and interesting ways."

I don't like Kratos. I don't know a lot of people that do.
But is that really wrong? Movies aren't afraid of casting jerks and psychopaths as protagonists, I don't see why games can't do the same thing. There may not be a lot of substance in GoW but I applaud them for sticking with a character who hates absolutely everyone, including himself.
No one else trying out the Vergil DLC? I am loving it so far. All of his moves are just so fun. It is just wrong that this doesn't add him as playable in the main game. I want more stuff to do with him

because they all fuck sheet up imo
if you hold down the attack coming out of anything the backswing is converted into the overdrive pose and your sword charges up
but you cant charge it while swanging
You hold the button down and it charges up. You can absolutely work it into combos, and it is good for building style.

HaH's final boss was somewhat challenging
what do i have to look forward to? should i crank up the difficulty all the way sit down and prepare to pull out my hair?
awww man

For the most part, yeah.
When it comes to the crunch though, it does not help.
The crunch being Mission 20.

All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.
Time to go break some level geometry.
