Oh god this DD-WRT stuff has literally given me a headache. Urgh.

Edit: To elaborate, I bought what I thought was a DD-WRT router from wal-mart, only to get home, look online, and discover that, nope, doesn't work. Going right back to the store tomorrow it seems.

My roommate is on the hunt for one (so we don't have to run CAT5 through the living room), so if anyone finds a place online that is selling them cheaply, I'd be interested in finding out as well.

I saw some on clearance at a local radio shack. I believe the older models are being phased out for the wireless N ones.

For the price they are charging, I'd rather buy a new slim arcade unit.

ASUS' 520gc is cheap and nearly effortless to flash with DD-WRT.

Edit: OP is obv. aware of this, but for others who are curious: a custom router firmware like DD-WRT allows you to set up a wireless router as a bridge, making it possible to use a cheapo router to connect wired-only devices to your existing wifi network.

I realized this morning that we use the stock Linksys router here at my workplace, and I'm awfully tempted to swap it out for the Belkin N router I bought yesterday and take the Linksys home to flash...

...but knowing my luck I'll likely brick the thing and then I'll be out the $30 for the router I bought anyway.

Radio Shack, eh? There's one down the road, I'll drop in during my lunch break.

I got one from a Gamestop (with my employee-friend's discount) used for like 54 bucks. Yeah.
