The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Thunderbolts #148, in which everyone has lunch and then fights ninjas. Previously, the team had found an Asgardian girl that had been adopted by trolls. Currently, she's living in the Raft, until such time as they can figure out what to do with her.
Also, I guess this came out today? Anyone want to give me some info on that? I've been waiting for Gail to get around to it ever since that issue of BoP where they discuss Beetle's death.

I was disappointed by TB #148 this week. It just felt like a forced tie-in. The jail stuff in the beginning was much more interesting, like the Troll scene and like Crossbones below:
But the actual stuff with Shadowland, could care less about.
But! Marvel Universe vs. the Punisher finishes strong, despite Marvel being jerks and not giving this issue a nice laminate cover like the first 3 issues had. Here's a hint: that cover is accurate:
Maberry writes the best Deadpool so far of current Marvel writers.
Frank is tortured badly by Kingpin, but Deadpool breaks free and saves him (Frank responds by blowing him up again). Then Frank kills everyone:
Kind of wish that was the 616 Spider-Man.
And Frank sends the 68 survivors away, while he stays in Manhattan to clean up the mess.
And finally, the villain in Emerald Warriors #2 is hella creepy, plus Guy and Kilowog bicker like Mini Marvels Hawkeye and Iron Man:
Zardor is a strong psychic like Despero (three eyes and everything), who is abducting psychics to control the Guardians with one mega "hive mind" type telepathy thing. And he vomits up snakes to eat their eyes so they can only see with their minds, freaky stuff.
Blue Elephant, that's not cool, just letting the red lantern munch on some gardener salad while you stand there.
Why are you jailed anyways? You post so many images for these and the awesome moments thread. It's annoying having to click links now, ahaha.
And the Ghost Rider tie in for Shadowland had some good moments in it.
One he was screaming at god while riding across the ocean on a whale so he can kill a bunch of ninja in Japan. Another he calls in an army of angels to help him wipe out the Hand and Snakeroot leaders. Pretty awesome issue all around. Wasn't even expecting it, but saw Clayton Crain's art and had to pick it up. Dude was made to draw Ghost Rider.
One time thing. Called in a favour from god for putting up with his bullshit all the time. And it was nice seeing some Clayton Crain art that wasnt just black and muddy and looking like someone spilled coffee on his art and it is now some art house interpretation painting.
Iron Man #30 finally delivered some actual Iron Man action, and tied up some stuff that had been coming to a head since the first issue. It was a good one.
Deadpool's Canadian...why would he want to be Captain America as a kid and why are they getting American daily news?
Wasn't there a recent thing that revealed Wade was an American, who relocated to Canada and took part in the Weapon X program? I may be wrong, but I thought I read that somewhere.
Also, given the reporter's speech is kind of Deadpool-ian, I get the feeling that memory's probably not 100% authentic.
OK that Deadpool scan gives me faith the series is still good. I'm getting the 4th trade in November but I'll get the 5th volume in hardcover format on Amazon along with the most recent Thunderbolts.
In X-Factor #209, the gang goes to Las Vegas in pursuit of Hela, who has absconded with Pip the Troll. Then they lose Longshot and Layla.
I really love that splash page, as it kind of smacks you in the face as you turn to it. And the following one is a nice little showcase for all the supporting cast members. Emanuela Lupacchino's totally killing it on pencils. There's something kind of Dodson-esque about his work.
Really, I've said it before, but if you're not following X-Factor since the relaunch with #200, you're missing out. It has a great feel that's one part noir and one part superheroics, has a large, really cool cast, and is consistently fun to read.
I actually kept waiting for that to happen, especially as the story progresses, and Longshot keeps taking the casino for more money. But hey, he's a lucky dude.
Shatterstar actually has a reason for being overreactive, and gets some comeuppance for it later.
One time thing. Called in a favour from god for putting up with his bullshit all the time.
I'm willing to bet it won't be a one time thing. But God won't send them in again unless its really hit the fan.
Also, i didn't realise the hand is THAT evil. I mean i knew they were bad guys, but i didn't think they were "God will send his angels to smite them" bad.

God is all about the smiting. A bet he's been dying for someone to call down his wrath on some deserving sinners. Besides Ghost Rider would have probably just killed the shit out of everyone there anyway because its not like there's anything a random ninja can actually do to him.
There's no such thing as overkill. Just "open fire," and "I need to reload."
Personally, I kind of like the punk rock look. Plus, at least it's an easy thing to change back. You really just need her to say, "Yeah, I ran out of styling mousse, so I bought some extensions."
I think it works for the present incarnation of the Thunderbolts, which presents the team as more of a powder keg than a vehicle for redemption. If the tone of the series changes again, then they'll bring back her old look.
My only beef with this week's issue is that the team leaders keep getting the crap kicked out of them.
The first issue ended with Mach V, Songbird, and Fixer all collapsing in convulsions on the final page, and since then Mach V got messed up during the cave mission and is currently comatose, Songbird was the only team member to get overwhelmed and need assistance during the prison riot, and now Fixer and Songbird both get taken out of the fight before it even starts. You'd think those guys, as the ones who have to keep a leash on the others, would be a bit better at not getting wrecked.
Granted, everyone's taken their licks in this series, but those stand out for some reason.

Juggernaut is very tolerant. He was friends with that French-Canadian fish kid during Austen's run, and was friends with Black Tom when no one else would be.
I don't know who the villain Crossbones choked with a spork was. He's called Mason, but that's not the Tinkerer, and the Tinkerer's son was a good guy.
Why did they give Songbird the ugliest makeover ever? Who at Marvel thought this was the best way to go with the character??
I think it's a throwback to her former identity as Screaming Mimi, which is this persona she sometimes adopts when she has to be super-badass (not a split personality so much as a way of thinking). Pretty sure Mimi had terrible hair. It's supposed to be ugly, because the Dark Reign made her ugly. INSIDE.
My motw - Empowered, Book 6. Love it. Finally got a look at the oft-mentioned supravil Deathmonger, who is actually fucking terrifying for such a humor-oriented title. This book's got some really great and creative concepts going on.

I'd wait months for art that good on my other books.

Although wasn't the first X-Force trade all CC art and it looked much better than Necrosha? Was X-Force delayed any at the start?
This issue is basically Breakfast Club mixed in with Saw and Face/Off, with a bit of Single White Female, like so:

Blame moonstone. And I like her new look. It grew on me. Art like this sold me on it as well.

Well, Wade did kick him in the nuts that one time, so it's only fair.
