Can I sidetrack this thread for a moment in search of recommendations for a PS3 RPG? (edit) Actually, 360 is okay, too.

You can probably get the first Agarest on 360 for much cheaper if you want to try it. And Rune Factory is an ACTION RPG which may not fit in the "traditional" slot for you.
I am comfortable with some action in my RPG. The variety of activity in Rune Factory is what appeals to me.
Also, Ar Tonelico is kind of expensive and hard to find. If I were interested, is the European version any different?
Not that I've heard.

I have the requirements for Professor (Sorcerer and Healer level 25), but it will not fucking give me the bill to pass. I've almost got my whole team together now, so just let me have it!
The requirements for professor are actually Onmyo Monk and Healer at 20+.

UGH
I could not agree more. Really not happy with the quality of this. And honestly, I mostly got it for stuff like the requirements to unlock classes so I don't have to keep going back to the computer to look it up while I'm playing.
Who do I contact if I preordered from gamestop and got a bad DLC code? Gamestop itself or NISA?
Definitely approach Gamestop first since they provided the code as a condition of your purchase. But... Don't hold much hope that they will come through - especially if the code was printed on you're receipt (I had issues back when they first started using the receipt system at my local store and they were morons about it).
That said, NIS is ran by a bunch of crazy nice people and I'm sure they would help you if Gamestop fails to deliver.

Which we would love to do, but unfortunately for this DLC stuff you'll have to go through GameStop since they ran that promo on their own and we basically have zero contact/influence on that end of things.
Houk: What do I do with my duplicate Desco figurine? I didn't get a Fallen Angel Flonne. Is there a chance I could just mail it back to NIS America and get the right one sent out? I'd hate to be a bother but FA Flonne is kyuuuuuute.

E-mail/call store support and they should be able to help you. I haven't heard of other people getting duplicate figures this time around, but in the past when that happened we had replacements available to send out.
I curse the man who invented the data shop. I'm on my 4th cycle now, because I keep losing to the story bosses and triggering the special endings, saving them into the record and starting again, because I figure... why not do it now and get it over with.
I'm also burning through tons of cash buying every new item in the shop since it gets recorded in the log. Though at least this also contributes to raising the shop rank.

Ughh, after grinding 5-2 all day yesterday, I've most likely outleveled all the main story content, with most of my guys sitting pretty in the forties/fifties when the enemies are still only in their early thirties. Just a few more reincarnations and I'll plow through the rest of the story....
So here is a dumb question.
Where the heck do you make new characters? I know I saw the option once and now I can't seem to find it. I THINK I've checked all the NPCs but clearly I'm missing something. I thought it was either at the cam-pain guy or the guy who teaches/boosts skills.
What silly thing am I overlooking?

On the Cam-Pain map, use the "Call Senate" option (I think that's the name... the one where you suggest bills), Create New Character is one of the bills.

Yeah, in Disgaea you make new characters by passing bills in the Dark Assembly/Senate/whatever they decide to call it in that game.
Grrr. Can someone list the various types of mystery rooms? Last night i was playing around with item world for the first time, and doing pretty well...around level 8 I found a mystery room. it had 3 level 7000 monsters in it and a few npc's about my level and one bossy guy at level 7000 telling me to get in position. I was even able to talk to the monsters so i kinda doubted I was going to be expected to fight them with my level 20 guy. I tried talking to the bossy npc again and a fight started. got royally smeared and the bossy guy wasnt even helping.

That happened in D3 with some of the item world merchants if you talked to them more than once
yeah so last night i unlocked the item world, and decided to delve right into a level 5+ gun for my thief, I had forgotten how quickly things ramped up and by the 3rd level I was fighting things 4 levels over me, had to use a gency exit, not happy.
on top of that i accidentally sold another gency to rosenqueen trying to get enough money to buy a big shiny sword

Why fight them, when you can run to the exit? In most cases, all you need are some good throwers and someone with Triple Strike. You only need a gency on a really bad map. I'm just starting chapter 5 and my Valvatorez is level 98, with some pretty decent equipment. He and my star mage are tearing things up.
when/how do you teach characters the moves of other characters?
I know i can get people to use heal if they stand next to a healer who is the subordinate in a group they lead
but there must be a way to permanently teach them

The same way as in Disgaea 3. The Character World. (It's similar to the Item World, but for your party members) At the end of it, you can teach a different character the skills of the one you're going through for 10 times the normal mana cost.

it's probably "make a genius" or something like that
gotta save up some mana
wanna have desco know Giga Heal!!
btw i haven't done any grinding or item world (outside of that one mandatory item) and I'm in the final chapter. Heart Cannon abuse is hilarious
yeah umm, wtf is up with the heart cannon? I once had my thief attacking 8 times in a row after a gang bang on a boss, it was beyond ridiculous.
also, I assume the "make stronger enemies" applies to story mode maps also? so If I happen to decide to grind to get all human classes, but I out level the story, I can just pass a bill and have the story maps level up so I'm not one shotting everything?

i'm kind of sad they cut a lot of the human classes, as I barely ever touch monster classes. Sure there are always way more classes then you could ever field but I think it gave you a lot of customization of your forces

I can do some pretty cool matches with the figures, too.

Spent all day pretty much grinding item world for levels and innocents. Still trying to unlock the professor class though...
I do have 96 Managers now, so that's a plus.

It was in 3.
Which makes it disappointing that they went back to being lazy for 4.

Anyone know of a 100% correct class list?

It's also based off the thief's level, the rank of the item, and its rarity.
For instance, no more male Archers or Kunochi.
