Disgaea PSP outsold Disgaea DS, I believe, which is why there's a Disgaea 2 PSP and not a Disgaea 2 DS.
(Also because it'd look like garbage)
It'd look like Disgaea 1 DS with Disgaea 2's sprites. And I'd be fine with that. Although I can understand why they went with the PSP. Why they continue to support Sony after the Makai Wars mess, I don't get -- from what I understand, Sony helped them get started and there's some loyalty thing going on.
Having said that, I fully expect SOMETHING from them using the 3DS.
Okay people... don't hate me but.... I HATED PHANTOM BRAVE!!! *Dodges flying objects*
Loved the story but I hated the gameplay. That free roam shit just blows.
The confine system can go fuck itself... as well as the limited turns before Phantoms disappeared. Nothing's worse than going well through most of the fight... only to be stuck with the weak green-haired girl and no weapon expertise whatsoever.
Makai Kingdom seemed to fix it by limiting the confine system to character creation only, and not limiting character turns in battle, making it a better game.

The stupid thing about my save on Phantom Brave is that the "weak green-haired girl" ended up being my highest level character, purely because she was the only one who was always in battle.

Sad, isn't it? The only interesting part is that you could use the dead enemies's bodies for their specific skills. It was always interesting to grab Walnut and use Burgundy.
According to the official guide, Phantom Brave's method to breaking the game wide open and making it your bitch was apparently to craft a WMD for Marona and make her a walking God. I bought the game but never did get past the first chapter. One of these days when I finally sit down and play it, I'll probably do just that.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the free roam, the other systems though..

PB is tricky, but it's easy when you know how to exploit the system. Don't summon the phantoms until you're ready, and use them with the appropriate items. Also, Ash is a war machine on his last turn.
Yeah, a lot of the levels are essentially resource management puzzles. Figure out what objects you're going to want to use for confining, and then figure out how much force you'll need to clear your way to them. Summon too many phantoms too early, and you'll be wasting power you need later.
I do like how much flexibility you have in stat use for attacks. There are even attack abilities that key off of RES, so you can turn your healer into a decently powerful zapper.
Aaand NIS America announces having licensed WORKING! (which they are renaming WAGNARIA!!). I think they're honestly going to try and licence all the anime they have cameos for in ZHP -- I think I saw a Wagnaria katana in ZHP someplace?
I am so terrified this dive into Anime is going to turn out badly for them. These are all solid titles that were pirated to hell and back on the various weeaboo torrent sites, but... The Anime industry is dead in the US mainly cause Weeaboos harp on about how noble the grey area they're hiding in is, but said harping doesn't translate into sales.

It's obviously been successful for them, because they keep doing it.

I wasn't really a fan of it, either. I did use it, though. Big Bang is the best skill for grinding in all of ever and I wasn't about to not let it get passed around.

I didn't like it at all, but at least Item World is still as broken as ever. I hope D4 did away with that.

Good to know I'm not the only one. That means we stand a good chance of it not being in 4!
It's kinda hinted at in D3's Raspberyl Mode. Looks like it's been quite a few years since then, though...
Hey, as long as she's still naiive and a bit crazy, I could care less what she's classed as.
Dude, she just nuked the world with Evangelion Cross-bombs....
This isn't the Flonne I know....
Crosses of LOVE!
Wait, that girl in the opening didn't look like Flonne...there's no way in hell she'd be without her ribbon. Maybe the angel class? The opening didn't show a single cross-over cameo, so I sincerely doubt it.
EDIT: Wait, no, there it is... the ribbon. I still have doubts.

Because I have nothing else right now for PSP and cj kept talking about it I decided to finish my Asagi mode run in Prinny. Chapter 5 has one of the most frustratingly difficult jumps ever. It's such a load of crap. There doesn't seem to be a video online so let me try and describe it.
Okay so since this is Prinny you're obviously above nothing. This jump is after a stupid vehicle section that can't be avoided and a bunch of other crap that takes like 40 seconds to get through. Now these two platforms have a fire wheel going back and forth in a half-circle in-between them, which obviously knocks you into the pit. It carries over into the middle of each platform, so unless you're on the far edge from them you will get hit. So just jump over the thing right? Ahaha, not so fast smart guy. There's a ceiling above the platforms and the platforms go in a little bit. If you touch the ceilings you'll lose your momentum and fall just short of the platform. So you have to go into the wheel's path. So you've timed it and got past the wheel huh? Well FUCK YOU there's a mothman on the other side. His first goal is to fly directly above you. Guess what you're fucked now. You can't jump to hit it because he's there, you can't move over because the wheel will hit you, and he's too high to just slash at. So what happens? You die. Because he'll drill the spot you're standing on and knock you into the pit (or just kill you). Okay so now you've died to him 20 times and you finally landed on the very tip and started slashing like a motherfucker and the mothman just barely touched it and kept running into it. He's dead now. Well I guess you've wo- HAHAHA FUCK YOU did you really think they wouldn't put a goddamn archer behind that mothman? Because they did and it can randomly see you up on your platform. If it does see you you lose yet again. Oh yeah you better believe it because that triple shot goes up there. What's behind that archer? It's the boss. Yeah. You're that close. Oh and the archer is also sitting on the very edge of the platform. So you have to ground pound off her to even have a chance and in the time it takes to pound you'll probably die. So good luck with that.
38 minutes later I finally passed that stupid jump. The Asagi DLC hell jump has nothing on the nonsense of that jump. Every single element of it is working against you.

I know exactly what jump you refer to. I had to go BACK through it to get a missing lucky doll.
By the way, you can cheese past that vehicle jump. Get on the ledge before the downward descent, and you can spin dash, bounce off the mothmans, and avoid it entirely.
If Asagi mode had dolls and I had to redo that jump I would slit my own throat. So I don't know what variation of the level you did that has it, but I want to believe it was missing at least one element that made it so horrible. That was far and away the worst jump, but Asagi mode is supposed to be hard. The vehicle section would have been nice to skip, but it's fine. It's basically impossible to fail it if you know where to shoot so it mostly just wasted time.
On the plus side I did get the Mothman file during one of those runs. So hooray for me?

Valbatose's theme sounds awesome.
I particularly like that the character portraits when they're speaking are more animated.
My Mao is never going to learn an attack skill that has higher than a D rating. Blegh. Terrible system.

Also, my favorite Disgaea plot(2) centered around a love story, so I'm optimistic.
