Whelp, I'm not going to be fighting a vampire and star spawn turn 1, so let's just sit in the shop so's I can buy something. Maybe they'll lose interest and go away :P
No movement for Bob Jenkins.
Hope I'm not jumping the gun, this will be my action when everyone is ready.
speed/sneak 3/2 (run, professor! run!)
fight/will 3/0 (screw willpower, harvey doesn't need it.)
lore/luck 5/2 (gotta have a little luck, just in case)
also, El Skid:
you can move to the Graveyard / Black Cave without having to mess with those monsters.

It's my understanding that moving into the streets (where the monsters are) would mean I'd have to sneak or fight both of them. How would I go to the graveyard without entering the streets?

EDIT2: JESUS CHRIST, I am inadvertently that guy who was playing it wrong the whole time. I feel shame.
The sexy researcher from Miskatronic U exits the library and carefully makes her way to the [strike]Science building[/strike], searching for insight into the actual nature of the emerging threat. The streets on campus are deserted and thankfully quiet and uneventful. The [strike]science building[/strike], on the other hand, provides her with many clues about the emerging monsters.
edit - crap, somebody else already went there. Which order are we playing in ? Could we maybe discuss things amongst ourselves beforehand or are we charging willy-nilly. I needed those clue tokens to make it to 5. Well, time and space, here I come. Bump up speed by 1, move to The Unnamable
It's ok, I'll go to the Unnamable. Probably fun times there.
But, you know. We don't talk about it.
Next turn I'll go visit the gate.

My intent is to not have an encounter but just look through a bunch of stuff at the general store, remembering Bob gets to look at an extra card to purchase.
Fuck. It converted the text back to an image. I'm going to get my hands on Photoshop...
In the meantime, Jenny gets a buck from her Trust Fund (to $11) and her move was set at 2, so she *can* make it to the shop. Everyone moves except for Mr Jenkins.
Mandy -> The Unnameable for +1 Clue
Joe -> Hibb's Roadhouse for +1 Clue
Mary -> Historical Society for +1 Clue
Jenny -> Curiositie Shoppe
Professor -> Science Building for +2 Clues
Encounters will be coming later. Feel free to discuss strategies and register at orokos or dicetower for future rolling. (Use 'Penny Horror 1' as a campaign name for roll tracking.)

Nope. Though two one handed weapons is a pretty good start, regardless

Alrighty. Getting the encounters doled out. This has been the most work-intensive game I've hosted so far. I'm envisioning having an update done by "after lunch."
Bob Jenkins must purchase one of: Lucky Cigarette Case, Food, Lucky Cigarette Case, Lantern.
Mandy Thompson runs into some dude named Eric Colt who tries to shake her up with a hair-raising Mythos tale. Does she listen?
Joe Diamond digs up a clue over lunch, but needs to pass a Luck (-1) check.
Sister Mary pokes around at the Historical Society and is given a book written in French called 'Cultes des Goules' by a friendly old professor.
Jenny Barnes... are you shopping or having a location encounter?
Harvey Walters strolls into the Department of Alchemy and is greeted by a horror-striken professor chanting, and waving an ancient artifact in Harvey's face. Mr Walters is now Blessed.

Errrrmm... After much hemming and haw-ing, Bob decides on the Lantern, paying $3.

So, I guess I just lucked out and got an item, or do I have to choose to take it?
If so, I do.
Pretty sure you automatically take it- there's no reason not to. If nothing else, you can potentially discard it when something knocks you out to save other useful stuff.
-A gate would appear at the Unvisited Isle, so there is a Monster Surge. (6 freaking monsters!)
-2 Cultists, a Hound of Tindalos, a Fire Vampire, and a Star Spawn, all spill out of the Gate on the Unvisited Isle.
-A Gug is reported to be on the Outskirts of town.
-A Clue appears in the Science Building and is snapped up by Harvey (good work Professor!)
-The Cultists and Star Spawn saunter to the Merchants District from the Unvisited Isle. The other Star Spawn moves to Easttown. The Vampire heads to French Hill.
-Some crazy kids playing Ouija during a picnic cause 2 more monsters to arrive in the Outskirts. The Terror level rises, the Outskirts are emptied and Ruby Standish calls it quits! (I guess the monsters chase after her.)
And after all of that... back to the Upkeep phase. Jenny gets a dollar!
