I hate the AC design. Makes her look way more generic, and makes her look kinda like Rinoa. Her original design had more character to it, and the boobs were only ridicuous in the CG stuff.

Incidentally, was there new pics or artwork of her in Dissidia? Or are they just referring to the TGS trailer?

She's been shown in a scan as also having her AC outfit.

There we go. I found a site that had it, but it wouldn't let me direct link the image.

I like it, a lot. Aside from the more realistic body shape, she appears to have muscle tone as well.

Also love how she's posing from her EX attack. She is so going to be top tier. Get ready to weep, Terra.

I'm just glad I won't have to use her in her boring-ass new outfit.

I don't get the complaints, her boobs really aren't much smaller than on her original character artwork from FF7.

I used that argument with the AC render. It's not so much that her cup size deflated, it's that the rest of her body was made proportional to it. Nomura mentioned how with the original game, he had to draw the characters in a pseudo SD style so they could be properly rendered in the game. FFVIII was the first instance of his "real" style. Obviously this made Tifa stick out more than intended, and the CG renders...well, who knows what was going on with those. Maybe a Gainax intern or something.

Of course, some people just want to believe she's nothing but a pair of tits with hair on top (Retronauts reference) regardless of what you say. I'm just relieved Square hasn't given in to that sentiment, at least as far as game appearances go.

And my only complaint with the AC look is the lack of a dolphin tail, but this was done for technical reasons. I justify it by thinking it's an homage to Garnet in FFIX (who in turn was an homage to Tifa originaly).

But honestly, I love all the AC designs over the original ones. For me they're all superior in every possible way, even Cloud's silly one glove.

I'm not a fan of the more realistic direction in general. I liked my Tifa and my FF7 slightly more anime-style.

    So in other words...
    ffviionthewaytosmileepi.jpg
    This?

Also, the scan apparently reveals that Tifa doesn't recognize Cloud either.

Which is slightly annoying, because it's probably a gimmick so as to keep their relationship open, ever appeasing the raving Aerith fans.

Most of the AC designs were better, except Barret. Something about his outfit just struck me as a bit silly looking. His gun arm was better though.

Well I meant more the original style, which was a little more cartoonish. But looking at that screen I will say I find that design a lot better looking in 2D animation over the AC CG look.

The metrosexual fishnet shirt, probably. Still dug the cornrows, though.

Also, it was a metal arm that transformed into a gun-arm. ;)

Can't wait to see what Tifa's third outfit will be. Cowgirl would be cool, but something brand new would be even better. Or maybe do like Lightning and cosplay another character.

As much as something new and crazy would be nice, judging by previous alts like Lightning's, it'll probably just be Amano Tifa.

There is not a singular FMV ending to CC.

There are various in-game conversations that depend on who's in your party for the final boss and the "movie" that plays during the credits is FMV cut with scenes from in-game. The "bad" ending also has a similar deal with a different focus. Either way, they play in a small box during the credit roll.

Everything else in the ending(s) are in-game scenes.

The other questions I don't know.

CC has a canonical ending, it's the good one you get from beating the game via the Chrono Cross.

It has an FMV that features Kid/Schala running around Tokyo.

FF:CC is 100% in engine and the ending is the best damn part of the whole game.

That video is only at the end of the credits and it's mixed in with all the other "fmv"/in-game scenes. It's not like something you could rip out and save.

Though it's pretty easy to find on youtube.

It just wasn't a straight FMV like other games.

Also, the bit at the very end with Kid in Tokyo isn't FMV. That's live film.

The most perfect FMV ending in an FF was IX's. If that doesn't tug at your heart strings, nothing will.

7's ending was and still is terrible.

So I have resumed Final Fantasy XIII after putting it down 6 months ago. It's the only game I can play with a broken right wrist and I am actually really enjoying it. Just started the second disc. How long does the game take to complete (roughly)?

I've been there. Broken each wrist. If you have a PC there's a lot more gaming options open once your wrist heals enough that you can move your fingers. Diablo 2 works pretty well since you can bind spell switching to the mousewheel, if you wanna play lefthanded. Any other incidental commands like inventory can be just mashing your working fingers on the appropriate button. I've also had some fair success WASDing in FPS games with broken left wrist. Mousing with the broken right wrist was a lot harder since the cast gets in the way.

As far as console games, with a broken right wrist, the original Super Smash Bros is very playable, since you can move the joystick with your palm. I was good enough that way to take out level 9 CPU players easily, and least put up a good fight against my friend. edit: Wait, shit, that was when I broke my left wrist. get them confused sometimes.

VIII is already enough about Laguna.

Any more would have made it too good for human comprehension.

They already had to make the real story of the game make no sense to try and balance out his awesomeness.
