I think the most furstrating thing when I play is when I know exactly what my opponent is doing and I still fail to counter it.
I was playing a Terran on Lost Temple who was pretty obviously going heavy MMM so I'm like "ok, I need lings and blings, eventually getting infestors" Did I get any of those? Nope! Instead I got like...some roaches and lings which died basically instantly.
That happens to me too. Watching a stream, I'll know exactly what a guy should do. While playing, I'll have a fairly good idea. When it comes to executing it, it's like my fingers have some master plan that my brain doesn't know about. My fingers like to suicide units, make dumb engagements, not pull back early enough, and build units that have no place in the match up.
Last night I was playing a ZvT on Scrap Station. He'd walled in/I'd contained, so I expanded and started teching. My fingers decided that I wanted a Hydra den against MMM/Tank/Hellion (I could see he was getting Thors too). Why? No fucking clue. My brain said "his base has several openings for Muta harass" while my fingers said "hahaha suck my cock you're getting Hydras"
i'm pretty curious to see how the no queens thing turned out. i don't watch the daily live, so i'll catch it tomorrow... but i can't imagine getting NO queens is viable. maybe not getting 1 per hatch and finding a good balance on teching instead?
You'd be surprised, it was some pretty neat stuff.

Well, 2 more no-show matches for the alienware tournament. Maybe I will make it to the round of 120 after all...
And I even got to catch the last half of today's Day9 daily. Queenless zerg is clearly OP! Don't nerf it!
Edit: The patch was announced to be released on Tuesday the 21st during the downtime. Why would anyone think it was "moved up" when they see this on the login screen?
I'm doing an experiment on a trial account to see how high I can get by 6-pooling every game. I placed in Gold and am now 8-2 (the 2 lost games being on Desert Oasis). Normally I don't find cheesing funny; I'm just curious how well it does. However, I can't help but share this replay:
I just... I shattered his dreams. There is no conversation. There is only a man's project, and it is toppled.
Just tried 4 games rushing to Carriers. The first 3 died horribly to marauder rush / 4 gate / 6 pool (eep), but the fourth I got matched up against a zerg who fast expanded and teched up to mutas. It was deliciously one sided for me
"We will be performing scheduled maintenance beginning on Tuesday, September 21, at 5:00AM PDT and we expect the service to be available again at approximately 11:00AM PDT." at the login screen!!
Patch date moved up a day?!?!?!?

It's an intriguing process.
I know the feeling. my (botched) 5rr just lost to early zealot aggression which I would have won if my treacherous fingers didnt fuck me over at every turn. just terrible awful micro, units sitting there doing notihng, drones getting slaughtered ugh it was horrendous. way too much to pay attention to at once.
also lost a zvz to a guy who got corrupters vs my early muta and kept me from expanding
and a zvp to mass stalkers 4 gate. god I hate 4 gate. lololol I'm gonna build tons of units and rape you now. the strategy is literally just build tons of guys.
think im 2-3 on the night.. shoulda stopped when I was 2-0
He didn't scout and only had like...8 units by the end game there, grats on the win but doubt it'll make it.
Looks like he's of the "THOR WINS EVERYTHING" mentality. Yeah sure, it's a huge unit that kicks ass in the singleplayer campaign, but it's just the looks.
hurr durr let me fly this thor all around the map while I let my minerals float to 2500+
block your ramp with 2 gates and put a pylon near his base to psych him out.
This has potential. I was thinking about faking a cannon rush, myself, but it's hard to think when I have to keep swatting down the recurrent thought that "that way I can fast expand!".
what is their range anyway? It doesn't seem very far.
If by lame you mean totally awesome, but crappy, then you're right. Their range is 8, although it doesn't really help like it might for other units since the interceptors are quite vulnerable to the sorts of units you'd normally abuse cliffs to attack.

the thing is terrans already do most of those and they work because everything they do is awesome.
Except no orbital command, you just wouldn't ever not want that... except maybe if you proxy'd your entire base except for your CC which you still wanted to defend... hmmm.
Maybe a no siege tank rush? I always loved unsieged tanks.

I started typing a similar response and was horrified by the end when I realized I wasn't even joking.

Hmm. Orb seemed to be getting a lot mileage out of fast carriers + templars + chargelots. Like, he was trashing his opponents and was geeking out over how awesome it felt.

I may have to try that and see how it goes.
Orb is pretty 'flavor of the week' type of guy. Gotta' takes what he says with a mountain of salt. In that same game, he was complaining Terran was OP because they could repair.
As soon as someone stops his build, he'll start raving how easy it is for another race to stop the mighty carrier fleet.

I'll believe it, but it did seem to be fairly successful, and hey, may as well screw around for the Day9 thing.
Maybe after I've seriously laddered some more and gotten promoted to Diamond >.>
which would be coming any day now because more than half of my games are against Diamonds now, and I'm still winning.

I just think it's funny that they don't get nearly anything(besides weap/armor upgrades) but I could think of ... a speed upgrade maybe?

blizzard has generally done patches on tuesdays, at least recently

PARASITE.
I would sign up for the PA 1v1 but noon est is like, 1 or 2 am here, I was hoping you guys would do it at night there.
Would there be interest in a 1v1 tourney over a longer period of time seeing as this is a more casual community?

Parasite is great because it can see detected units.
I wouldn't even mind spawn broodlings if, I guess, it were 50 energy or something Blizzard thinks is balanced.
Zerg has a few gaps in between it's teeth.
They go so well with Roaches.
on edit, whats the email address for funday monday replays? - i'm going to send him my first cut, and then after a week of refining.

yeh, the first VRs were for defense on top of the zealots. i was disappointed that i had no resistance.

Every fool I play is like "sniff... I smell a ridiculous tech choice! Charge!" and then I get kerploded.
I wonder if a straight carrier rush is the way to pull this off. Against a lazy opponent it could work, I suppose.
[Edit: Day9 is doing some kind of carrier thing, it seems. I may try for this, although I've never seen his show.]

He already said what it would be.
The terran challenge:
No Orbital Command
No Marines
Factory units only
Barracks units only
Banshee/Viking only
Can only attack buildings with nukes
forced fast expo
