need to practice it on Rock Band first, make sure I've got the falsetto chops
also I got so buddy-buddy with the hostesses and they liked me so much they offered me a card and told them to call their boss to see if they were hiring! wheeee
there was this bar at UA that would do karaoke on tuesdays. This one summer, while I was gone, my friends made it their thing to do that night. When I got back later that summer, they insisted that I go so I could see "3 AM Guy"
See, this bar, to get people in the door, would do a penny pitcher deal that same day (if you don't know what that is, it's a five dollar cover to get in, and then you get free pitchers all night. They call it penny pitcher to get around the fact that it is illegal to give away free alcohol).
Anyway, this one guy would get a table to himself, way before the karaoke would start. He would drink pitcher after pitcher of bud light, and then when karaoke started, he immediately got on the list first, and started things off by singing 3 AM by Matchbox 20. Then he would return to his table, keep drinking into the night, alone, and never sing again.
He did this every Tuesday. I have never seen the phrase "broken man" portrayed so aptly.

In Columbia we have this rad place called the Art Bar and they go all the fuck out every Wednesday for some karaoke; great song selection, cheap booze, everyone goes fucking crazy and it's fairly likely that someone (read: everyone) will do a song shirtless by the end of the night
Me and Cos did Total Eclipse of The Heart, which was less than a rousing success, but later performances of London Calling and Tribute were much better
Glad to say the first, and hopefully laat, time I did Karaoke I was ridiculously drunk and in tokyo.
So yeah, it's crossed off my to do list. Needn't bother again.
The first karaoke night after Dio died my roommate and I were gonna sing Holy Diver in tribute
But he couldn't make it so we didn't
Which is just as well because some dude did Rainbow in the Dark and sounded like he was channeling Dio himself; the man was spot on, fucking perfect

I would love to do karaoke. There are two problems, though.
1. My singing voice is not bad, but it is not good either. It is okay. Thus people are neither awed by my amazingness nor amused by my terribleness. My singing provides no form of entertainment. I am just... boring.
2. I don't drink, so fact number 1 is inescapable.
What do I do?

That guy with the ridiculously long scarf at PAX. Say Hi!

Combined with an underlying insecurity about losing control of my actions.
That's petty much me too. The only drink I've ever tried so far that didn't have that terrible bitter burning alcohol taste was something called a Bay Breeze.

Karaoke is hella fun. I like to mix it up, going from one style to another. Sinatra, Journey, Metallica, Weird Al, Bee Gees, it's all good times.

I really wanna do Careless Whisper
and Because The Night
and I Drove All Night
and maybe Mr. Roboto
and also Faithfully (which is actually the best Journey song, tied with Separate Ways)
If Mr B doesn't have it listed as Roy Orbison, we must demand it be changed before we will return to Karaoke Explosion. Though, I can't go at all this semester because of my damn 8am class.
Total Eclipse of the Heart proved that there is a limit to how drunk you should be to do karaoke. Still fun, at least.

Here is the solution for both of you
Sunny D mixed with Vanilla flavored vodka
Tastes like you're drinking an orange cream soda, and you have to add a lot in order to really taste the vodka

Also, I think it be required that karaoke occurs sometime during PAX East
Man only time I sing is when I'm alone and sound can't escape the room I'm in
Also I have a pretty bad fear of public speaking
Hamlet will be Hamlet
An ineffable tragedy of the human spirit that still resonates, even today.
Whenever I go there, it is pretty much a foregone conclusion that I will be doing Get Back.
Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet is fun, but fucking wrecks my throat.
Really tempted to do Usher's Yeah! at some point.

Although we did just figure out we could pretty easily do Get Low since we all know the song by heart
Well, one out of four.
E: Yes, Ipse, we must.
But if I did I would sing the HELL out of some Tribute
I have the best demon voice

@Ipse I really hope you've actually done that
Let's Stay Together is such a great song and so fun to sing.

And yes I sing Tequilla with my girlfriend pretty regularly, complete with Pee Wee dancing (except not on the tables because we'd get thrown out)
