Mixin chemicals lol [SOLVED]

I just poured an entire bottle of Drano Max Gel down my horrifically clogged shower drain, then waited 40 minutes and turned on the hot water. No moar clog! *FF victory theme*

Now, I waited a few days too many to get this sucker unclogged, and my tub looks and smells like ass. I am itching to get in there with Clorox wipes and/or some Comet, but I do not particularly wish to create fumes that will harm or kill me, or my two cats, whose food dishes and litter box are only separated from the tub by a poorly-closing door; bonus points for not killing the guinea pigs whose cages are in the next room (the little buggers have extremely sensitive respiratory systems).

I understand from Google that bleach and ammonia are no-nos, of course. (Hi, this thread!) But how long should I wait before mixing Drano and, say, Comet? The Clorox wipes are for parts of the tub untouched by Drano, mostly the yucky far end, but the Comet will get washed down the drain once I'm done scrubbing. The Drano label (and sites) just indicate you shouldn't mix it with other chemicals, period. How long is safe, d'you guys think?

The drain is unclogged? I don't see the concern if the drain is unclogged, just run the water and scrub it down.

If you are obsessively concerned open the window

It's pretty poorly ventilated, or else I'd'a just shrugged and gone ahead. I'll just shoo the cats out and do it in a few minutes, then.

If you want to be extra safe, put a fan up in there while you do it also. That should allay any of your concerns

Piping hot water. Just let it run on its own for a few minutes. Chances are some of the draino is still on the wrong side of the trap, or there's still some muck down there that hasn't been washed out yet, with some draino in it.

You could also fill the bathtub with hot water, then drain it all out so that it washes away any left over chemicals.

Well, the tub is clean now, and the cats are chewing on each other in a non-killed fashion. I'll run some more hot water before I use it again, but that should be it. Thanks, dudes.

for future reference draino has no ammonia or bleach in it.

Its pretty much lye, and aluminum powder.

[Insert stock image of some dude holding his thumb up and smiling. Possibly, he's Jesus. I don't know, I'm too tired to look for it.]
