I plan on going down tomorrow and swapping out my modem for a newer model, in hopes that it alleviates the issue.

I found the easiest way was simply to bypass the ports for router and go directly through the modem. When I originally did the patch on the 22nd, I tried multiple times for an hour going through the router getting at best 3 local connections and a 25kb/s maximum(though about 1kb/s or less average).
When I went directly through the modem...I waited about 2minutes to get my first "remote connection" and 3 minutes after that I had already gotten 3-4 more remote connections and an average 50kb/s download.
At that point the remote connections skyrocketed and I got some local connections too. My speed ended up reaching approximately 250kb/s+ average, and a comparably fast download.
So if you haven't tried, I would just go directly through the modem.

So whats it look like in the content department? Is it still just the main quest + your guildleves, or are there a lot of side story quests to be found?
Thanks to everybody that did the "level 20 guildleves are really for level 10s, right" party and the stuff following tonight. It kicked like 100 asses. I have soooo much money!
So as I promised today I attempted Dodo Leather and possibly the Strap pending the success of the former. I had an interesting opportunity to have a sort of 'dry run' on that synth through a rank 15 craftleve that requested Dodo Leather as the item in question...
Well at rank 12 Leatherworking, with Master facilities I went 2 for 5 on that, pretty much failing the leve. I was pretty sure I'd need a better tool than the newbie one, and possibly some more ranks. But I said I wouldn't log without trying to synthesize the Dodo Leather Straps, so I tried... First attempt was basically doomed, I had the crystal destabilize on the 4th round (first time since release, for me) I got to 83% Progress, 6 Durability and the crystal was still unstable. Now let me explain, for this rank craft I was lucky to get a return of 12%, super rarely on a Rapid Synth a better tool would have put me in a beyter position with respect to progress earned. With the newbie tool I was pretty much fucked. So I guess I'll try again later....
Haha, not! For some remarkable reason I ended up succeeding with 1 Durability left on the synth. I have no idea how the hell it happened! Pretty much nothing in my body of experience had led me to believe coming back frim that point was possible. So I made 4 squares of Dodo Leather. With one of those I rendered 12 Dodo Leather Straps which, as I expected, was an easier synth. So hit me up if you need a strap!

As far as I can tell, there is very little content outside of what you mentioned. Not too many side quests from what I have seen so far.
Edit: If you could start saving them up for me, that'd be great. Armorers need them to make the shield, and I can see the shield being a high demand item. I plan on churning out shields as soon as I can make them for everyone who needs them.

Thanks much. Earlier in that session, I too, took part in the Claw Shrimp, 11 man raid on r20 leves! It was exciting! We did our first r20 leve at 5* difficulty! Sure failure we thought, but somehow we finished it off via zerg rush with 00:02 (that's two seconds) left on the clock.

I ground my way up to 8 Gld last night in about 2 hours. It cost me 25Kish gil. Exz was mocking me for just not doing leves but this was is fast
Hope to gain many more in the comming days, my limiting factor is shards.
On a completely unrelated note... I have over 25 bone rings. I'm selling them in the wards for around 800. next time im on hit me up if you want some. Ill sell them to LS for like 450 (cost of a bone chip) or will take wind shards for them =p

Relogging fixed the linkshell issue. It seems like if you were online during the <event> then you just had some kind of menu and chat error (I couldn't see any linkshell chatter and didn't see the option to reactivate the shell until after relogging).
If your linkpearl seems to have been deleted, try relogging.

Gonna re-roll real quick after I re-install to my SSD and hope it fixes the weird stuttering that's going on.
Also, my network connect has an "S" of around 35, but the "R" hovers between 600-900. Any good way to fix that?
