Pfffft. Like I need clothes or a blanket in Australian summer. I pretty much exclusively wear shorts and no shirt.
Having extra mousing space is so nice. Also cloth pads are the nicest.

that's very nice. I have a big razer one but it's plastic not cloth. I don't hate it but I don't love it.

damn I can't believe I still haven't taken pics for this thread. I want to.

edit - the whole setup is nice

I recommend that you turn the video off after the first minute or so. They start missing notes and it all goes to hell.

    Ouch Vari.

The only problem with that desk, and all the furniture in my room, is dust. Oh god the dust. It looks red in bright light but is really quite a dark brown. So all the dust shows up. It forces me to clean it though which is good I suppose. Sometimes I draw in the doust.

Yep, love the desk. Bought it during college and kept it every since. Three years owning the desk and still going strong. You can see the wear in the pic; I think it gives the table some character :)

That's an A1200. I have two. They're like, not expensive.

Getting an accelerator card so they're actually useful as more than an A500 with lots of ram is expensive though, luckily nice people have made new ones which are actually the cheapest ones you can get. Expect them to sell out fast. Same site also sells hella overpriced, but very good condition refurbished A1200s.

It's funny every time I post what I've done to my desk, one or two people drool over my amiga. I don't even have an SCSI kit.

Oops, didn't even see your name there, I thought it was someone else posting with an A1200. Thanks for the heads up on the site, I'm really tempted to get one with the wi-fi adapter and 120GB hard disk they're offering.

Don't buy a 120GB drive, you'll never get anywhere near filling it, unless you have a sudden urge to play your entire MP3 collection on it (very possible). Realistically 4GB is more than enough. A better use for your money is that accelerator card.

if you get a Wi-Fi card, remember these things suck for the internet so it's really only useful for IRC and downloading files.

There's also people on certain, electronic bays, selling 4GB CF card kits to replace the internal HD, preloaded with thousands of games, demos and a really good workbench setup. But buying one would make games companies cry because it's piracy of software they don't sell, so I'm totally not recommending them at all. No sir.

This isn't the first time you've posted your workstation; I remember when I first saw your setup, about two years ago? It struck me so strongly that I kept an eye out for that desk on Craigslist. One day I found it for $30 from a business that was closing... I wish I'd bought three, haha.

    Later that year I picked up a 32" 1080p TV on Black Friday. Last year I moved, and since then I picked up a few more things and did some other things. This is the result;

    desk1d.jpg

It's cord hell underneath but I'm proud of it, especially of the DIY Ikea shelf that holds up my 360 and vents my DVR. Thanks for the inspiration =)

I have a friend who attached a sheet of pegboard underneath his desk and zip-tied all his Gordian knot of cables and infrastructure to it; "the invisible datacenter." Kinda like this. My setup isn't complicated, so I'm not sure how hard it would be to replicate.

Nicely done. They are good desks. I was careful to keep the surface clear of wires but underneath, I don't really bother to keep them under control.

The three thousand screws on charted paper give it away. The engineering that go into them is amazing, but repairing them is always a pain in the ass.
