as cool as lava must look in person, I would not be hanging out next to that lava.
I think I'd be fine around it, due to my years of experience with "the ground is lava" and "step on a crack".
Fun fact: When I was a kid, for some reason the game was "whoever touches the ground is the kaka monster."
We'd start a round by calling out, "Whoever touches the ground is the kaka monster!" and my siblings and I would leap off the ground and onto whatever furniture was available. Then I would push one of the two onto the floor and it would end in crying. Not because anyone got hurt, but because my siblings were alyways pissed off about having to be a kaka monster.
The one thing I miss about AC1 is the random "save dude from random thugs" points littered throughout the city. Not because they were a great bit of gameplay, but it is quite fun to do them all while blasting the 60's Batman theme as the soundtrack.
I just replayed AC2 and did the DLC stuff to the point where all I had left to do was collecting feathers and treasures and races/courier missions (and screw all that), so I'm also pretty excited for Brotherhood to come out now. I really hope the parkour fad in video games never goes away, because any game with entertaining jumping (AC, Prince of Persia, Mirror's Edge, Crackdown) is an easy sell for me.
I was afraid my apartment might have had a minor gas leak, but I smelled gas at my workplace as well- I'm thinking now the me spilling gas while fueling my car up on Saturday and then driving 5 hours might have had the result of infusing gas smell into my hair.
Simple solution; shave off all your hair and light it on fire. That'll get rid of the gas smell and replace it with the much more pleasant 'burning hair' smell.
@metal: kaka monster sounds like a reptile of some sort.
I really liked Mirror's Edge. It had a good enough depth and difficulty that pulling things off well was very satisfying, rather than having everything done automatically for you.

I liked Mirrors Edge too... but i think the game wants me to hate it. Some of the open areas are really poorly designed- they give you no clue about where to go which really ruins the flow of everything.
I liked ME too, though I think its going to take a sequel of some sort for it to really reach its full potential. It was a great game that tried a new perspective, and I loved how you could shoot and kill, or you could just disarm and run. Also it was a perfect length, as it never became a chore to get to the end. Falling off a building and hitting the ground made me cringe every time.
I'd like to see another one that expanded upon the gameplay and ideas within the first game.
How many of you guys believe in ghosts? Just curious. Not necessarily "spirits of dead people"...but whatever you may think ghosts may be (if you do believe in 'em).
Personally, I do believe in them. I've had a few experiences that helped convince me. What about you guys?
I really don't believe too much in ghosts, but I think the word ghost automatically puts my mind into skeptic mode. Spirits and demons are things that seem not only more scary, but more tangible.
My wife believes in everything supernatural. It's a topic that rarely doesn't descend into an argument.
I don't believe in UFO's or anything concerning "aliens visiting our planet"...although I definitely believe that there is other life in the universe. There is at least some bacteria out there, hangin' out.

Absolutely, I think you'd be incredibly naive or arrogant to believe that there were absolutely no other life forms in the universe. I think it's unlikely that we've been visited by aliens, but I don't rule it out either.
Most astrophysicists would tell you that we really know fuck all about the universe.
Haha, I already made my position on ghosts clear, but at the time you didn't have the sack to tell me off as I made fun of your invisible ooga-booga people.
The only way I could buy into ghosts would be as some sort of extra-dimensional presence like another reality occasionally brushing up against ours or our brains trying to process input we can't understand by making it a person, not as some sort of mystical/spiritual presence. Science ghosts, not magic ghosts.
I too do not believe in ghosts or angels or anything like that! But I can definitely understand why people want to convince themselves that those things exist.
It's kind of depressing to think "when i die it is over, my mind will cease to exist and my body will be a slab of meat like any other dead animal". But I tend to think of it more in terms of "welp, my time here is limited. I'd better try to do stuff that makes me happy and maybe make a difference before i am gone".
I believe aliens may exist somewhere in the universe due to the sheer amount of crap there is out there, but I don't pretend to know what they may be like or anything.
I think it would be great if all the traditional supernatural stories were true, but I believe that people just make stuff up in an effort to deal with the fact that humans are nothing special in the grand scheme of things.
Why do humans supposedly have ghosts, but cockroaches don't? Why do people never see neanderthal ghosts? Why is there no concrete scientific proof for any of it, only personal anecdotes and urban legends? People are free to believe what they want, as long as they don't try to convince others that something is true just because they think it is. If you can prove it, then go ahead!
I'd love for ghosts to exist, and to know that there is something else after death. But until proven otherwise I'll continue to believe that my consciousness will cease to exist when I die, and I'll try to be as happy as I can in the time I have.

PFFT. No way man, I understand that other people have differing [tiny]wrong[/tiny] opinions. :P
But I'm pretty sure that we passed the Manatee Mailbox around then and I interrupted the conversation to comment on it.
Also if people don't believe in ghosts, they probably won't believe my stories anyway...and if they can't figure out an explanation they just tell me I'm lying . Kinda like my stories about a friend and I knowing where certain cards were in a deck...and being able to guess numbers that the other was thinking (in ranges of 20 numbers to 60 numbers).

This is what I think, too! I believe that whatever it is can be backed by some scientific explanation...and I don't believe that ghosts are necessarily "dead people's spirits" or anything like that.

At 28 seconds I thought he was on some sort of rope swing and was about to swing out over the lava.
Same. Now I am disappointed.

I can't imagine anyone being upset over being a reptile. I was thinking of some sort of goo monster or something.
Also, Sandtraps was possibly the best part of HL2.
KAKAAAAAAAAA!!
