Just screwing around with my naked eye:

    Horizontal blocks - ~3200
    Vertical blocks - ~3016

This is assuming one pixel of the overhead is four meters in-game. It's probably slightly more. When I say Horizontal and Vertical, I mean X and Y axis, not Z-depth, and not counting the generated areas beyond the chasm.

I would love to uncap the server to accomodate more people, but it gets a little hairy with 30+ people all hammering away at different places at once.

Tonight I'm going to up it from 24 to 30 as a test run.

Heh, this is a thing I was also doing for a bit last night, except it was during a regular day/night cycle. I led a couple out of Samurai's dojo through the basement of my house-in-development, and was fortunate that it was still night. I led them over to the giant cock statue, and sacrificed the zombies to Cactus God between its testicles at sunrise.

Also... looks like my steam group invite request may have been overlooked a few pages back? Here's another link to my profile. Thanks in advance!

I had this vision of carving out the mountain that I built my lavaland home over into a giant skull with lava running out the eyes and nose/mouth.

Then I loaded the rendered image and realized two things.
    1. It would face away from the camera and so the image would never see it.
    2. Someone has already done this.

Looks like it's back to the drawing (MS Paint) board to come up with something new. At least my float castle platform was adequately covered in torches so that it stands out clearly.

Love that you put up the rendered image Ein. Thanks!

Thats my skull that you see from the warpdrop of lavaland. Its only a flat skull right now, It took me a few hours to route the lava properly to have it flow from the mouth.

Feel free to add to it, when i get the time i'm going to try to shape it and add thickness so it looks better.

Also i set up a little treefarm and forge/workshop/chest platform over some water in the opposite direction you are dropped into lava land. Its open for anyone to take from it just try to replace what you take if you can, or if you chop a tree plant a new one. If you can't no big deal.

    So guys

    I have a new demand

When/if we get working minecarts, I need someone to set up shop near our main Skyrail station in Columbia:
    gi-bio-cover-backs-02.jpg

Your 'skyhooks' will have to be Minecarts, but that's hardly a downside.

Ok. How does one create a spring? I've been playing on another server (ColRapture always full) and I can't even MOVE water, let alone get it sustaining. I dig a hole, I drop a bucket of water, it sits for a minute, then gone. If I dig a 2x2x1 hole, as per "The Internets", and drop water in opposite corners, same, just sits for a sec and disappears.

By default, the server seems to hook itself up to a gig of RAM, which it uses about 70% of according to the server GUI when it's running. I've tried giving it more, but the server just won't start when I do anything > 1GB.

In terms of CPU use, in the task manager it jumps from between 15% to 60% or so every so often. Hovers more around the low end.

Truthfully, what might help the most is a better internet connection on the thing. On a good day, I've got 20MBPS/down and 3/up.

I've considered something like Amazon's servers, but Linux and I have never come close to an understanding, and with my current setup it's easy to adminster the server via VNC.

Also, this "Ein's server is ALWAYS FULL" thing is a myth. I have 8 people atm. :P

lol, they rent SMP servers now, and I'd pay the fee if it meant that we could host more people, but I don't think it goes higher than 20. I could be wrong, though.

$35 a month is nothing to me if we all could play together.

Yeah, I suspect it is the bandwidth that's your main issue. I've got a server that runs Classic pretty well (I've had 20 people with no lag), but it's an old box with only 512MB RAM, and also runs a web server. I don't think SMP would like the lower RAM all that much, especially with a map the size of ColRapture. I might experiment with putting SMP on there, just to see how badly it pukes.

Many lessons from the Bible are delivered to the player through intuitive immersion: For example, the player learns through trial and error to build his shelter on solid rock instead of falling sand, much as we should build our lives on the rock of Jesus.

    Awesome.
Also, the only animals in the game you can kill for food are pigs. This emphasizes the New Covenant with Jesus where we can now eat delicious ham -- a common ground we share with most Secularized people.

That's your holy spirit, yearning to soar with angels over the sea of troubles and godlessness, in accordance with scripture.
It's this multiplayer mode, in both Alpha and Classic, that's the true strength of Minecraft as not just a Biblical game, but a witnessing platform. Once Secular gamers are hooked on the innovative, open-ended, gameplay and have had many key Biblical values sowed in their minds, then they will be receptive to being approached by Minecraft missionaries in the multiplayer servers.

This entire site is gold. It's far too much work for Poe's law. I mean, check out the secular game reviews - he gives every one (with a few exceptions) ZERO CROSSES.

The picture next to his review of HEAVEN has me thinking some pretty impure thoughts.

    Then there's this:
Portal's story is based on the idea of the "Singularity" taught by Atheist prophet Raymond Kurzwell. The Singularity has been called Atheism's version of the Rapture, only twisted and evil. According to Singularity believers, humans will eventually create intelligent computers just like God created us, then the computers will become smarter than us and kill humanity like Atheists claim that humans "outgrew" and "killed" God. (Darwinists refer to this replay of events as "Recapitulation Theory" or the "Biogenetic Law.") This is of course nonsense. Humans cannot create intelligence... only God can do that! And computers can never be truly intelligent since they don't have souls (unless God decides they should, and then He will do the ensoulment Himself, not Atheist computer programmers).

    Emphasis mine.

It's a joke. Has to be.

    Previous Poll:
    Do you use "cheat codes"?

    -No, they are not Christian
-No, I like to solve a game on my own
-Only if I can't get past a level
-Yes, but God knows I am a sinner and will forgive me

    results...

Yes, but God knows I am a sinner and will forgive me 50% 1235

No, they are not Christian 19% 469

No, I like to solve a game on my own 16% 402

    Only if I can 15% 380

    total votes: 2486

    And TETRIS:
UPDATE (1.8.2009): The Secular media must be reading my reviews because shortly after I exposed Tetris for what it really is, they started trying to counter my exposé (without mentioning it, naturally) by promoting a so-called "study" hastily printed in some Darwinist online journal that claims Tetris is beneficial to mental health. They say soldiers should play Tetris within 6 hours of being in combat to keep them from having post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The only way that could happen is if all our soldiers were equipped with Tetris games in the field! And how did they learn this? They showed subjects some sort of snuff film with like people being killed (where did they get this? do the police know about it?) then had the subjects play Tetris.

AND Games like RDR, L4D, Fable:
Note: I have not played this game since it is rated "M" and isn't allowed on the Fellowship U campus

I think this is real. This kind of guy does NOT represent Christianity or Christian values, but rather the "fundamentalist" side of it. It's a shame that there are people as closed-off as this guy out there giving such a poor impression of religion as a whole.

Mobs still spawn. They just can't be killed with a weapon. You have to set them on fire (which is turned off on Ein's server) or drag them into sunlight, drown them, or run them into a cacti.

The mossy cobblestone still exists in rooms with mob spawners. I'm pretty sure last night or the night before someone found a room like that on Ein's server.
