Let's Play Amnesia: The Dark Descent - End - I find his lack of clothes disturbing

Welcome to Let's Play Amnesia: The Dark Descent

amnesiathedarkdescentco.png

I know this one is early and for this reason I suggest that if you plan to play the game for yourself, you do so.

The newest game from the Penumbra Developers. Scares 2.0

Normally I would add what this game is about and how it plays and such. Do I really need to for this one? Surely if you clicked on this thread, you know what to expect:

Horror. Dread. Scares. British man ruining the atmosphere and a lot of very dark rooms.

One last point, if you like what you see in the videos, consider supporting the devs and buying the game from them. They really deserve the cash.

Without anymore yapping, here are the videos.

Videos

Set 1 (It's really dark, however Youtube has made it darker, I'll fix this for newer sets)
Set 2 - Stay out of the water
Set 3 - This weeks nightmares all set
Set 4 - Shoo!
Set 5 - Mr Flappy Jaw
Set 6 - Water? Uh oh.
Set 7 - Must have been cold
Set 8- Thats a good evil lair
Set 9 - Paint the man, cut the lines
Set 10 - Big pockets
Set 11 - I find his lack of clothes disturbing

    Yippie.

Don't turn the brightness up to much as it kinda ruins the effect of some of the scares. Like in fear where you couldn't really see anything it made things far more tense then after you turned the brightness up and were like...Oh theres a mans over there...I'll go kick him now.

Now the question is will Mr. Floppy and the molestomatics make a cameo? Just a cocky little easter egg they might have tossed in to go "Yeah were the dudes who did penumbra...your welcome for all the mental scarring"

I'm proud of myself for managing to make myself beat it before you started this. Can't wait to get home and start watching.

I am conflicted about what to do, leave it super dark or make it a little brighter.

My monitor is super dark. Like the default Amnesia brightness is just black. I don't seem to have brightness controls on the monitor too. Yay Dell!

Also, I bought this day one and have yet to play it. Its too terrifying D:

Just a hair brighter on the playback end, leave it dark for you so you get the full effects of the scares, its just Youtube-wise I'd turn it up in brightness a smidgen.

I had a lot of trouble viewing things on my screen as it basically looked like a black screen till you got to a room and then it brightened up slightly where I could somewhat make out what was in the room. I say just go a touch in brightness...not a lot but just a tiny bit so we can tell whats going on beyond looking into a black abyss for half an hour.

I just don't want to be forced to watch these in the middle of the night so I can make things out as that would cut into my Halo time.

If you can't bump brightness up a hair when you render then don't worry about it, its not worth missing out on the atmosphere and scares because we can't see anything.

Besides if it ends up being a black screen the entire time we'll just call this LPHP* Amnesia: The dark descent. You just have to imagine the horrors that are making the funny British man scream.

Just on the rendering end...not in the actual game or else it would ruin all the potential heart attacks and stained pants that we come to expect after Metro.

Helloween, your reaction after getting the key was very slow... When I got the key to the wine cellar I booked my ass into the closet (I was positive something was there so I kept peeking).

Also use the mouse to interact with things, much easier then moving yourself to move things.

I think that made it even funnier.

When game developers finally prefect the alligator clips to the testes to provide electric feedback then perhaps we might see a bit more hustle :winky:

Its just a game and it just the beginning so you can expect things to get a bit more screamy as time goes on.

On a side note I have my ringtone for my boss as the Metro sausagemonster reaction. It fits so wonderfully when he calls for me to come into work on my day off "Fuck Shit Ass Agaragagahaha" welp there goes my weekend

The level of your tenseness is promising considering almost nothing has happened yet, Helloween. :)
Too bad you missed something near the cave-in after you get the key.
if you look closer at the cave-in from the other side, it spawns a monster right behind you, so you turn around and BLARGH! monster in your face. It then dissolves into thin air.
