I'll be glad when betrayal is removed from firefight. Tired of getting booted because people insist on both picking rocketfight and standing right next to enemies.
Is there another way of getting down from the spire without jumping? (Not using jetpacks)
I try to sprint and jump so that i land on one of the orange "exhausts" so that I land safely
You can reach the orange safety bumpers without sprint. Jump off, look straight down and use your movement stick to aim yourself.
yea, you can inch it a little. it's possible to hit the thruster itself too if you land toward the parts furthest away from the spire since it's slanted
a few times I have survived a fall off the spire by hitting a portion of the base too (I'll slides off and end up with like 1 HP). but you'll die from that more often than not.

I had some of my best games tonight playing with SAE Stick. Got my first sniper spree and managed to pull off a game going 10-1. Thanks to today's challenges requiring me to use the AR I've started liking that gun.

same thing happened to me the other night. 2/3rds through the last wave too.

I managed to bang it out today with the challenges and getting a couple of commendations. Not as painful as WO3, but still a little tough. Thankfully the EVA helmet is a nice reward to showcase my blue visor. I can't wait until it's showing off a gold visor.

Geese don't seem particularly susceptible to Armor Lock. Pretty sure it's because their front end makes them just glance off of AL players rather than hit them and explode. Scorpions don't explode if they hit an AL player, either; they just drive right over them.
You can still blow up Mongeese with AL, but I think you have to get them to hit just right rather than just hit AL and watch them explode. I figure it's a fair trade considering how tough it is for a Mongoose to splatter someone anyway.

They're not too vulnerable to exploding them with it, no... but hitting them with an EMP off it to freeze up the 'goose does work. Requires some really nice timing though.

Lol I always fail at jumping off the core. And surviving that is. Usually I just throw the shit and chase it on the way down. Ive seen a few catch it whilst falling.
I have one gripe with Elite slayer. Since there is no longer a Mauler, the shotgun on maps (Swordbase, Asylum, Reflection) is replaced with a freakin plasma repeater. Goodbye single best sword counter.

Anyone else having issues logging onto Live? My console is connecting to the internet but not any further.
That shit is so fun, and good credits too. I was getting close to 1400 every game. Later in the night I teamed up with some friends and the games weren't even close. "Invasion" would end in less than 12 minutes, total. "Invasion Slayer" looked something like 100-40 without trying.
anyway, great matches. It got a bit boring later where the matches essentially turned into "will our scorpions or snipers kill them first?"
Which brings up a problem. In the old games, if you were good, you earned a higher "rank". You would be matched to people with higher skill. Matchmaking in reach is matching players with similar experience, essentially. A great player that plays 1000 games will have marginally more credits (and ranking) than a decent player that plays 1000 games. Great players won't really ever face a challenge, since winning doesn't give you significantly more credits than losing. Similarly, a great player that has won 500 games will end up facing a poor player that lost 1000 games. Those people shouldn't be matched up.
There is still the trueskill level like in Halo 3, its just hidden now IIRC. I'd say give the game a bit more time for people to reach their level, then you should see more even matchups.

Vehicles with boost are the only ones actually really vulnerable to destruction by armor lock.
Somewhat related, getting a splatter when a boosting ghost t-boned my hog was pretty sweet.
Which is bullshit. If someone in a vehicle wants to roll the dice and go for a splatter, the guy with armor lock should be the one to come out on top. I guess maybe it shouldn't kill the passengers instantly, but maybe just blow up the vehicle and toss the guys out. That would be a lot more epic than just bouncing off.
But perhaps I'm bitter that land mines no longer exist. I loved the hell out of those in H3. I didn't care if I got kills with it (though I usually did), the resulting explosion and chaos always made for hilarity.
Looks like I'll be doing an hour's worth of Gruntpocalypse this afternoon to pad the weekly challenge and take care of the dailies.
I don't think playing any of the games in the Score Attack playlist (which includes Gruntpocalypse) count towards the weekly challenge. I'm pretty sure you have to be in the Firefight playlist where you play with 3 other players. I found this out the hard way, having played 5 consecutive games of Gruntpocalypse and then seeing 0/50 on my challenge screen.

It counts if you make it all the way through the game. If you run out of lives, it doesn't.

Oh really, that's an interesting fact
And thats why I thought it was tits when I blew up a mongoose with two people with AL.
Now, how do people actually record and take pictures of stuff?
I've got a bad case of lovin' you.

no need to be snippy. I thought maybe you hadn't played on a map that they were placed on
