Uwe Boll offends everyone! (Postal the movie)
Posts
All I've ever seen of his was a little bit of House of the Dead, towards the end when clips of the game are thrown in. That was pretty hilarious.
The dude needs money. Aside from a few voiceovers, the guy hasn't done anything significant since News Radio.
And if I remember, Lowtax said the movie ends with Osama and George W. Bush skipping into the sunset.
He's got that poker show on...uh...whatever the hell channel it is.
I love it when people get up in arms over a piece of celluloid.
This needs to be the new pack-in with PlayStation 3.
Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!
Pay no attention to the mouse. Birth of a Nation is what you need to see.
(Please do not gift. My game bank is already full.)
I await the backlash
It's not the content that bothers me, it's the fact that Boll is a giant walking genetic mistake who needs to stay the fuck away from a camera because he doesn't have a single mote of talent in his gigantic German head.
Oh noes! That would be so cutting edge.
Shock value != talent.
(But please, be my guest and make it, wouldn't want to oppress anyone)
I am a freaking nerd.
I dislike Uwe's movies as much as any other gamer, but the way I see it he's just a businessman capitalizing on an opportunity. Like it or not this is how the world works, businesses today thrive on expoitation.
If you want to hate someone, hate the studios that gave him money and permission to make the movies.
Horseshit. You're only saying that because it's Uwe Boll. South Park do this kind of shit all the time.
They've never re-enacted Columbine (Not even Parker and Stone would cross that line, I think. Plus, they're both from Colorado.), but characters on the show shit on camera all the time.
South park has never had anyone shit right onto the camera either. let alone making fun of 911 or reenact Columbine.
edit: beaten but the point still stands.
Oh. They actually do this in Postal?
Why the fuck are we even paying attention to this movie?
Being pedantic doesn't disprove my point. Characters shit on the show all the time, they've poked fun at Osama, 9/11, Aids, Terry Schiavo and plenty of other stuff. If they had a good Columbine joke, they'd make it.
I'm not saying it won't suck, but there's this culture at the moment of "I AM OUTRAGED AT THIS NOT PARTICULARLY BAD THING BECAUSE IT COMES FROM A PERSON OR COMPANY THAT MY E POSSE DO NOT LIKE". Besides, you don't have to watch the fucking film, and was anyone REALLY holding out for an awesome adaptation of Postal of all things?
Shitting onto the camera doesn't sound half as bad as some of the stuff Jackass pulled.

I would see the Imax version for the theater wide barf factor by itself.
It has a needless amount of loading screens.
I was shocked as to how frequent they were compared to playing the demo.
What's the goddamn difference? It's a recording of someone with feces coming out their rear end. It's pretty goddamn disturbing no matter the position of the camera.
When the best argument you can come up with revolves around semantics, you should probably take a step back and rethink your position.
Well people have drank horse cum and ate horse shit on camera, and been filmed walking around shitting on themselves.
I think Jackass has already pretty much desensitized the public to that kind of behavior.
If people do get mad it will be about the 9/11 and Columbine issues.
While South Park does openly mock sensitive political issues in a very non PC way they are always careful to mock them from the view that the vast majority of the public has, and they always make a point to show the absurdity of the situation.
If Boll is just out to piss people off I'm sure he can.
One can hope.
It's worth considering whether you're made about this because of the content itself (fair enough) or because of the person involved (stupid).
Well, he's had a couple of appearences on Scrubs which is arguably the biggest sitcom on network TV right now but, yeah, he hasn't had a major character role since News Radio, which annoys me because News Radio was awesome. It was even pretty good after Phil Hartman was replaced with Jon Lovitz.
Still, in spite of his possible need for the cash I'm going to have to agree with "Oh no, Dave Foley, no!"
I'm sure Uwe will feel really bad about that, for about five seconds, before he falls asleep on his bed of money.
I find it hard to fault a guy for gaming the system and getting richer than I'll ever be. Sure, I have my dignity.. but he's got a mansion.
Seriously. That's like the worst waste of money I can think of.
Besides Bloodrayne.
