Snappy got a hard luck life and crafted a bonk helm. She's looking for an engineer hat, hotrod and 10 gallon prefered. PM her or maybe find her on Steam if you want to trade.
Hard luck life indeed. I also have a vintage Soldier's Stash and vintage Hustler's Hallmark if those are more desired. I would even be willing to do a 2-for-1 deal, if necessary. Send me a PM on here or contact me on steam. Cheers.
I like to log in, play for 1-2 maps, and quit. Surf some forums, play some geometry wars, etc. Maybe play some more TF2 in an hour or two. I don't really play TF2 for extended amounts of time.
Is this why I never find fucking anything, ever? It seems like the game only lets me find an item if I play for at least 90 minutes straight.
The drop system is currently spaced. You roll not for whether you'll get an item, but when. Hit that amount of playtime, and your next weapon drops. The intervals are pretty widely spaced, so yeah, sometimes you'll go a whole (reasonable) play session without seeing a drop.
So basically, I should make a habit of "play until something drops"?
christ I'm turning into sith, this game just makes me angry now with the endless amount of bullshit
the need to grind for new weapons makes it even worse. Achievements were alright because you could see constant progress towards getting what you want, now it's "maybe it could be the next drop in half an hour or you might have to wait a week to craft what you want". Fuck supporting a system of purchasing weapons in a game I've already paid for, too. And before you say 'nuhh you didn't pay for the updates': No, I paid for the game with the expectation of patches for bugfixes. Getting all the updates is nice, but it in no way puts me in some sort of moral debt to valve.

They should give the winning team and the MVPs of the losing teams scrap metal. Or something.
I'm not sweating weapons too much because I've played long enough to craft most of the shit I really wanted quickly. Hats, however, should remain wholly cosmetic items. Craftable or not, it's silly to suddenly change something like that.

My fish is the best fish. You can't grasp the form of my fish. Now I just need nametags for everything else and I can reference every classic video game I've ever played.
I just want to browse for a particular hat :P I don't want to have to set up trades of "I'll give this hat for any of these hats." I want to do the opposite "I'll give any of these hats for this hat."

Come'on, I just want some Goggles.
the whole system is terrible. half the people don't respond and the other half expect to get 3 hats for every one they give up.
The degreaser idea is to use it as a flare gun combo.
Virtually unknown fact:
Officially if you flare someone whos on fire from "medium distance" the flare crits.
I messed around with it last night, and the flare seems to crit the burning victim from any range. Though the closest I got was just outside of melee.
Sad fact:
Flares crit for 49 damage.
So if you flame a guy, airblast him, and flare him, if the flare hits, your damage goes up just slightly.
Youre probably better off just flaming him, unless they make it so all the burn crits after the flare tick as well.
I feel like that would raise the Pyro's skill ceiling, which valve has stated as wanting to do. Burn+flare is significantly harder than Burn+axe, and way beyond w+m1.
Crit burn ticks at one point wouldve been OP. But as of right now a person can be extinguished by health packs, water, medics, scouts, heavys, snipers, and engie dispensers. Thats a pretty darn good ammount.
The problem with the idea is that it totally laughs in the face of the idea that a pyro is an ambusher. This would make it more of a duelist, requiring the enemy to be alone.
in conclusion: Pyro is pretty okay, could be better. Even if it was, a Heavy would still be better in most situations that the pyro is good in.
It makes flame-> axestinguisher a viable combo. Messing around with 2 other guys in a server tonight, they were outside my spawn taunting as soldier and demo (I think). I walked out, saw them, flamed and axestinguished both before the taunts finished or they could react.
You can axtinguish people so fast they don't even have time to react. It's possible to kill heavies before they spin up and tear you to shreads. Alternatively if they run away you can switch to shotgun/flare faster and get a couple extra shots in.

A rank 2 metal or polycount weapon (preferably not the knife, black box, or degreaser) would be a good trade
