marines dropped in a mineral line are stupidly hard to stop with lings, you just cannot get to them becuase they are surrounded by minerals
This was my absolute favorite thing to do way back in the beta when I played Terran. I would tech straight for a reactor'd starport and fourteen to sixteen marines with stim, then drop in the mineral line. The hatchery+geysers make a fantastic choke at roach range, and if anything really goes awry you can hop back into the dropship and head out.
It didn't always work, of course, but it was my favorite play.
I stopped this really weird marine all-in. 3 Rax, 2 reactors, 1 tech lab and he pushed with stim. Barely held off the 1st and 2nd attack, and when the 3rd came I had a colossus and dude was like "wtf" and quit. Felt good.
Just finished watching the games after carefully avoiding the results being spoiled through phone-browsing.
Man. Wonderful play from fruitdealer.
To every Zerg who's ever called someone a noob for suggesting you try using nydus, infestors or ultras in a high level game: neener neener neeeeeeeeeener.

Yeah, a Stalker should always beat a Zealot - but that's not taking into account that if the Stalker runs away the Zealots just go into the mineral line. Doesn't matter if he has way more Zealots and is forcing you to not be able to mine.
A stalker only wins with micro. Which I'm sure is what you meant. I just wanted to make sure noone gets the wrong idea.
What's so frustrating about the korean four gate is that stalkers take so damn long to kill a zealot (15 shots). That's forever when he just ignores your stalkers and tears through the mineral line.
Personally, I feel stalkers should just do 14 flat damage, but that probably is too much. I don't know. I realize I'm not pro or anything, but stalkers feel so worthless w/ their crappy DPS.

woof. 6pool beats me more often than I would like. it's especially difficult now with the zealot nerf. they'll go after my gateway pylon, i'll have to pull my probes, and then lose! urrrrrge
Put the pylon down behind your buildings at your choke. Once you see the 6pool happening (Because you scouted at 9) sacrifice probe production as needed to get that wall together.
I just played a game where I had apparently razed 32 structures when my opponent had only built 31. How does that work? Does rocks count as a structure? Even then, I think he had a few left, unless my dark templar destroyed those while I wasn't looking.

So I just won a long TvT (ugh most boring matchup ever) and I think my opponent learned the hard way the importance of upgrades. It ended up being a Siege Tank standoff for a while in the middle of the map when we both start going Cattlebruisers/Vikings. My air numbers were not very high for whatever reason, but I was 200/200 with 3-3 ups on my stuff, he was 200/200 with 0-0 on his crafts. Needless to say, his puny choke point defense fell and he proceeded to get rolled.

what really screws them is their "armored' stat. Sure, they do 16 to another armored, meanwhile, they're getting raped by whatever they're facing that is also armored.
Well I wanted to do some drops but this guy literally just had his base edge coated in turrets with vikings hovering everywhere I wanted to go. I was able to do some expansion denial early, which I think allowed me to get my advantage. The map was Lost Temple I believe. His 3 bases were pretty well protected, it was kind of mentally exhausting, because any one mistake could have won or lost the game for me when he took the middle.

TvT is better now that MM has a place. Marauders were already popular pre-patch because they could stim and catch up to tanks and now marines don't get 1-shotted so they can stick around to stim and shoot enemy vikings and run back to get heals
Yeah I ended up massing some marines since I had so many minerals floating, when my Vikings/BCs were taking on his (after I had exhausted my Yamatos on some tanks) I just stimmed all those marines (2/2 ups) and took out his remaining tanks and turrets.
I rather dislike when people just won't leave when they've obviously lost. I destroy this guy's entire base, but he has another by the yellow minerals, where he has built a million photon cannons as protection against my void rays. When I see this I inform him that I will destroy him with colossi. I win by doing so.

So hilarious results from the carrier rush I tried today.
My opponent goes 3-gate fast blink stalkers, the exact counter he needed. My carrier pops, his buddies blink up into my base and focus it down to nothing. It was so funny I don't even mind.
Korean commentators are pretty fun though, one guy is talking semi coherently, if exited, then suddenly the other guy just interrupts him "PLAGYUUU PLAGYUU PLAGYUUUUUUUU".
Hilarious.

Brood war is incredibly much more complicated and technical than sc2 right now, it really shows when there guys play.
