How does the Real ID join game thing work? Aren't you supposed to be able to join friends' games uninvited through Real ID? I can't find the option anywhere.

Ok, so I'm getting the casts uploaded, first two are up on the channel now, last should be done in like an hour or so. However the volume of my voice is abit high, so adjust the video volume accordingly. Sorry about that, I'm still getting stuff dialed in. I'd redo things to fix it but this is all just too time consuming so I'm rolling with it and will try to improve it next time. Hope you guys still enjoy the casts.
Heh in retrospect, compared to the awesome livestream casting they are doing for the second tournament my efforts seem cumbersome and amateur. Oh well, cool that they have some uber casters to cover this stuff. I like the idea of community events like this getting commentated, adds something extra and fun to it.

Yeah I was expecting a lot of sick high level micro but it was mostly "did you know x could y" stuff.
Oh wow. I've been promoted to gold. I don't really think I deserve it, considering that I do pretty much the same thing every game. And what I do is absolutely terrible at defending against rushes.
Also, I don't really feel like I had won the last game properly. Everything I had had been wiped out by my opponents missile turrets because I forgot colossi can be attacked as air.
Still looking for buddies to do 2v2 and 3v3 coop insane achievements. Been walking people through the 15 insane win streak achievement but I need a ton more games.
Requirements: a pulse and the ability to cannon/bunker/pool rush.

I just... I do not understand how I lost this. I know I shouldnt've chased his Probe with so many of my own, and I'm not sure the transition to Stalkers was a great idea, but I just got absolutely smashed, and it didn't seem like my opponent did anything special. Was it all just because I lost the Zealot fight at 7:20?
Yeah, but he was up to 1,000 at one point, and ended up dumping them all into useless cannons. I know my macro wasn't great, but his was worse yet he kept flooding me with units.

I don't play protoss (and am not very good), so take this with a grain of salt, but here's what I saw.
- As you said, you shouldn't have chased his probe with five of your own. You had five probes not mining for over a minute and a half...by my estimates, that cost you over 250 minerals.
- You weren't spending your minerals. It wasn't so much that you weren't constantly making units, it's that you could've supported another gateway.
- You still should've won the fight at 7:20. You had numbers, but he outmicroed you. Several of his zealots were on the verge of death for half that fight, but never got attacked. Do you play with health bars displayed? Doing so would make this sort of thing jump out at you.
every 4v4 i play that goes beyond 10 or 15 minutes i give a lecture to my team mates about my 'gains from splash' theory.
which is that, really in general but especially if the game goes past that mark, we need at least 2 people to dedicate their production toward units that do or at least have potential to do lots of splash damage. because you see in 4v4 late game there will be lots of units fielded and splash will be more effective.
but no one listens they just keep buildin marine marauder
Not a bad job on the actual commentary but it would be really nice if you could reduce your scroll speed to prevent jerky screen movements.
Sure, I can work on that. I forget that can be jarring to the observer if I'm zooming all over. Maybe I'll try using the keyboard arrows to scroll when I cast, see if that is more smooth.

ugh, 2 gate into cannon contain. how ugly. I bet he was going to cannon up and go into voids if that failed.
If someone contains you as Toss, your best bet is to build some cannons and a small army and then go Voids, because their base is probably undefended.
I beat a Terran who contained me by doing that (and secretly expanding using a Warp Prism).

Yes, cannons on the cliff and a few zlots to block would have been enough to hold the contain to then tech to prism or void and decimate the main, I don't disagree with that strategy.
And stalkers are not a good strat vs a zlot rush. 1 stalker or 2, but the vast majority of your force better be zlots. Micro all you want, but you'll die.
Get some tanks, or haven't the silly clowns figured that technology yet :P
I hear they still gather their vespene gas with robots instead of teleporting it directly to thier CC/nexus.
Protoss space is basically a fly-over sector, full of militant religious zealots still clinging to their Psi blades and their Khalas.
On a related note, depending on how many cannons there are, hallucinate can be a good early way of breaking a contain, if you're sticking with warpgate units. Immortals do pretty darn well too.

counter as in - the units are there, but they're now in black and white. Its obvious to everyone except the AI that they're halluciantions, you have to micro around it.
Even playing as a Toss who will Hallucinate - I think they should explode or at least have the AI drop firing on hallucinations when they're detected.
Otherwise, unless you are micro'ing your ass off, they may as well be real units that don't do damage. The AI doesnt know the difference, and will fire on them.

Hey man, we're still trying to make a unit that shoots more than 5 distance. Did somebody misplace that upgrade at the Core for the Dragoons? Yes, yes, 9 distance collosus. still does shit against a 12 distance tank.

i dont think this is actually true. im pretty sure if you have detection, the ai will priority target non-hallucinations.
