Oh snap. I just rode up to a Swadian castle, hoping that the lord there would accept some tribute from me in exchange for leaving me in peace so I could use their land as safe haven and operating base for raids on the Rhodoks and forest/mountain bandits.
I got my audience and when I told the lord of the castle that I wished to make peace with Swadia, he said, "Do you? Trip on your sword, then, and give us all some peace."
you got told, son
Well the Rhodoks were more receptive to my offer, so the joke's on them. That guy just fucked his kingdom over big time.

Man, all this Android fragmentation is getting really annoying. I really hope Google starts doing something about it. We don't need 3 goddamn Android stores, Amazon and Verizon. :x

Looking for two electronic music videos people posted in [chat] in past:
a) Asian girls leaving kiss marks everywhere, on other people, etc, as sort of a love plague
b) band setup with the female singer in a black bodysuit, various dancers in purple and silver bikinis.
Also looking for general recommendations, because I want something a bit more coherent than my usual fare of MOS/Hed Kandi compilations.

So my mom's been dead 1 year 4 months and 17 days.
He has a girlfriend. He takes her to my mom's nephew's house who is suffering from an illness that has cause him to lose most mobility in his limbs. Without asking if it was okay beforehand. And apparently he tells them he's gonna be marrying her. Never mentioned this shit to me or my sister.
The Game/Music/Application torrenting/pirating scene is actually kind of impressive when you consider that it relies entirely on civilians to maintain the library of what's available.
so, out of 60 people in this program, only 2 were selected for an interview. it's for a very large national CPA firm, and I've never been so proud of myself. here's hoping I can follow through

i realized with tabletop RPGs i want as little mechanics as possible without it just being fully random and arbitrary
the Jenga tower of Dread works perfect in this regard on multiple levels. It's not random, it requires skill and clever thinking, it has intrinsic pacing values as the inevitable outcome of continued success is increased probability of catastrophic failure, but that catastrophic failure causes a "reprieve" effect as a fresh tower is built for the survivors.
do you actually like the fact that RPG character sheets look like god damn tax forms
Oh wait you're actually serious at sales, okay.
Let's say that that's not my main source of interest in rpgs, no. Let's say I'm more concerned about imagining one iconic freeze frame for a character and embellishing from there through gameplay. Is Jenga the delivery for that?
for the past eight months i've been heavily looking into diceless RPG systems and systems with as few numbers (or in the case of Dread, none!) as possible
so things like Amber and Dread and Marvel Super-Heroes and so on
i mean i love M&M/DCA and all but i've realized that my days of having the patience to fuck around with maths and shit is so far gone

absofuckinglutely
okay so, in Dread when you are making an action with potentially catastrophic consequences for yourself (or possibly the story in general), the GM challenges you to "pull"
so you pull a block from the tower, and you put it on top, ala a normal game of Jenga
if you pull and place without toppling the tower, you succeed
if you refuse to pull, or if you start pulling but then stop, you fail but in a non-catastrophic fashion
if you pull and the tower topples, you die (or are otherwise removed from play, or in some instances it makes things worse for everyone)
notice how those just describe outcomes and not events?
that's where the narrative between you and the GM comes in. a catastrophic failure of a tower collapse could be hundreds of things depending on what you are doing, etc. etc.
it doesn't tell you "It does 14 points of damage and you are now Stunned"
it's
SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENS
and now you're dead
what happened?
how did you die?
this is where the description and narrative come in

Just go magic.
Cast harm like a million times in a turn.
Watch everything die.
And then get forced to the back of the train, cause the tech guys are jerks.
But then learn a spell and never need their stupid discriminating train again!
You can tell a lot from somebody by their taste in media.
That's why my OKC profile is just a list of movies and nothing else.
