Map Quest is telling me that Markham road eventually turns into Hwy 48 if you go far enough north. It gets a bit sketchy for me though after the 407. "Main Street Markham S" appears on the map once you go north of 407 and once you hit 16th (which isn't that much further north), it's finally labeled as Hwy 48.
Am I actually going to see a sign that says "Main Street Markham S" when I'm going along the 407? It just sounds so... weird. I'm hoping there will be a nice fat sign that says Hwy 48 too.
Anyone happen to be familiar with the spot I'm describing? I'm trying to get up to Stouffville, essentially (well a place just on the western outskirts of it - still technically Markham)
...man, I'm really cranking out the help topics today...
Satellites say that if you just head north from the cloverleaf at the corner Highway 407 and Markham Road it'll turn into 48 and you'll hit Stouffville Road/Stouffville's Main Street after about 11km. (probably 7-15 minutes north of 407)

[edit] oh and Stouffville is east (right) on Stouffville Rd/Mainstreet from Highway.
If I remember the 407 correctly it says Markham Rd AND Hwy 48
Yeah it does.
Alternatively, if you want to get to stouffville, the 404 is a better choice, usually, and depending on which direction your coming from. From the west, definately. From the east, i guess it depends on where youre going.
