Sorry if this has been asked and answered but Im lazy as hell.
I have a very fast PC and also a PS3.
I would prefer to play this on the PC as thats where I prefer to do my gaming.
I HAVE heard a few things around that the port is shitty.
With that being said the port would have to be EPICLY shitty for me to go with PS3 instead. For example, I got all the way through Saints Row 2 on the PC (a pretty shitty port) and I had a ton of fun after I got used to the wonky controls.
I think you probably heard that the PS3 port is shitty. Because apparently it is.
I have the PC version and it looks and runs amazingly. (Granted, I have a Radeon HD 5870.)
I can vouch for the PC version also. It's a solid port, I've heard some people suggest that is it the best version of the game.
In in a whole nother league as Saints Row 2 (a much much better league).
so yeah, Painkiller+Knife Gloves is pretty much the go to strategy for most psychos
Yeah I just read the Giant Bomb review of the game and Jeff Gerstman talks about how annoying the psycho fights are. I can see where he is coming from, but I think his problem is not enough knife gloves. They are the mini chainsaws of this game.

To me, I've found there's always something that just completely decimates a certain psycho. Sometimes it's so random you wouldn't expect it.
For example, I pulled out a watergun/flamethrower on Seymour Redding (the mall sherrif) just because I was running out of shit to throw at him. The flamethrower ended up completely destroying his life bar as if he were made out of polyester.

Yeah the psychos seem to have achilles heels, the problem is there is so many weapons in the game and they are scattered all over the map, figuring out what weapons are effective against a psycho without referring to a FAQ is just painful trail and error. It would be nice if they have some logic to it or a hint was provided in the psycho waypoint description. I found there was nothing my Knifegloves couldn't handle.

Really disappointed that none of the magazines seem to boost the Tenderizers' durability. They are by far my favorite weapon. Fast, strong hits, great PP gains, and Chuck turns into Kimbo Slice.

Laser Sword and 4 to 5 Survivors decked with merc assualt rifles is this games I Win button.
the defiler has a really slow startup swing and the laser sword has a long followthrough, the knife gloves are ideal not just because they do a lot of damage but because you can swing quickly and you don't have to wait for a long animation to finish before you can dodge back again.

Yeah I honestly didn't understand that bit about the Giant Bomb review. The psychos in this seemed fine to me. If anything they were more interesting than the DR1 psychos I think. I suppose they didn't exactly re-invent the wheel here, but it seemed to me they at least tried to make the fights a bit more dynamic than "it's a crazy guy, he has a shotgun, prepare to be shotgun-stunned to death."

Those are exactly the same problems I had with them. I stopped making Laser Swords because honestly you just end up getting grabbed thanks to the wide-ass swing they have. Wolverine Gloves all the way! The Defiler is slow, though it has a pretty decent special attack (hold X for a really wide swing that kills lots of zombies)

I love when iTunes and Video Games sync up perfectly.
For the Most Dangerous Trick psycho fight music
I had itunes running in the background and Celldweller - Switchback came on at the same time the game started playing the exact same song. I had to laugh. The timing was too perfect

Two swings from the knife-gloves are about the same as one jump attack from the Defiler. Against stunned bosses, either one will work.

There are actually a lot of viable things you can do against the psychos. 90% of the complaints about them are because of how bullshit they are when you don't know the game and how things work. I beat every psycho like a pussy now and usually never take damage - that's because I know the game very well.
Are there Queens in this? I know there were in Case Zero, but I'm nearing the beginning of the second day and haven't seen any in either of my playthroughs so far (this is the farthest I've gotten)
There are Queens but you will only get the cutscene that enables them if you are doing the Cases / giving Katey zombrex. I believe you get the queen cutscene after delivering Zombrex #2.

If the host saves on a memory card or internal memory (Not the HD) it won't disconnect.
Is the Client able to save onto their own HDD if the Host is saving on a memory card?
Ya but they only save when they quit anyways
So no matter what the client cannot Save during coop except when quitting? They either get immediately disconnected or can't do it at all?
Just asking because after the game freezing for us after 7 hours, we don't want to risk losing all of our progress again. (I know you can't save story progress in coop, but performing a save is what "banks" which cases you have completed in co-op for the Achievement).

Actually I used the spiked bat/defiler for most of the first part of the game. I only found out about the drop kick in the one psycho that really needs it (if you've fought him you know what one that is). I only knew to do that because of Dead Rising (it's amazing how much this game mimics Dead Rising).

Really, really easy
Even taking him on by myself and not using the motorcycle at all
I was super-frightened to face him after I heard horror stories earlier on in this thread

I'm pretty sure the client has the option to save at a bathroom too, but I don't know if it will disconnect him. There hasn't really been a reason for us to try this out, because of all the "host save disconnect - issue". If the client gets disconnected he does get a chance to save, so it's only a few wasted minutes.... which is much better than 7 hours wasted.

When he stopped to spin around on his bike, I'd sneak up behind him and nail-bat him
Nail-bat has been my primary weapon the entire game. I've actually not really been making any combos other than that, which is what I figured would be my problem with the game when I was going for the combo Achievement in Case Zero
Still having loads of fun though

Different combo weapons are better in different situations and even where you are in level. For example the Lightsaber is pure farm material as is the paddle saw. But once you level up the paddle Saw is not very good, because it's initial good thing is the huge amount of PP you can rack up with it (It's also very survivor unfriendly). Some like the late game BFG are just amazing though and are not just good for killing zombies: they are also brilliant for leveling quickly.
It's really about the situation, some are superior to others depending on what you're trying to achieve.
I just don't like carrying shit to maintenance rooms, that's all
Stash things in the back of your inventory, then pop into a maintenance room when you can. Hell, more than half the shit I built got made in the one just outside the safehouse.

For games when I'm just shooting for achievements or goofing around, I'll carry around funny-but-useless stuff. But for when I'm actually trying to do something and I don't want to get screwed over, I just cannot take useless junk items. As a standard loadout, I carry a couple sniper rifles, an LMG, three knife gloves, the book for Healing +50%, and two Painkillers with another slot for random healing items. And on top of that, I usually also carry a blambow because even though it doesn't actually kill a whole lot of zombies in one shot, it is totally awesome for just getting fat chunks of them out of my way.
As a result, I don't have to worry about getting jumped by a psycho at a bad time because I have all the ordnance I need in order to deal with any and all psychos. No more game overs for me because I wandered into a danger area I'd gotten a message about and activating a psycho fight.
Although my first encounter with Snowflake was pretty funny.
After something like four games of goofing around, I finally went for playing the full story. I'd never, ever had the Snowflake bit show up, so I had no idea where it was or how the fight worked. Well, I had four survivors with me. One had a shotgun and the other three had sniper rifles. The fight started and I killed the crazy weird guy in about a minute, but then Snowflake is still running around and now my death squad has no other targets. So I actually had to frantically flee the area in order to keep my survivors from shooting the poor tiger to death.
Then I came back a while later, got mauled a bit, tamed the cat, then gave it my kid. Don't know if that would make somebody the most awesome parent ever or the absolute worst parent ever, but I did it anyway.
In fact, the only psychos which give me any real trouble are
the annoying snipers out on the Strip. Not necessarily because I couldn't think of a way to deal with them, but because it seems like you can only reach one of them for hand-to-hand combat and each sniper takes an entire sniper rifle to beat. And you have to find the EXACT right spots to fight from so you can't get grabbed by zombies while aiming and the snipers can't instantly and perfectly counter-snipe you. Once you find the right level geometry, you can plug away at them and not get hit. But fine-tuning it usually means at least a couple of hits and it's just annoying to keep getting knocked down by those guys.
And I tell you what: the psychos in this game are utterly horrifying. Yeah, DR1 had some kinda messed up folks and bad deaths, but cripes, they really turned it up to 11 for this game.
Slappy. SLAPPY. Aside from the horrifying mask and creepy everything else, the part where he turns the girl mascot's head and you hear a bunch of wet crunching... I physically cringed. It was that horrible. Not to mention the crazy face on the guy screaming "SOOOOOIIIIIEEE!" right after breaking a guy's neck via hanging. Or him later falling on a table saw. Or any of a dozen other awful, awful things.

Slappy is the best psycho ever. I don't think they can possibly top him.
I will be curious to see what they come up with for Case West though. I'm kind of wondering where that takes place...
My best guess is some Zombrex research plant or something, but you kind of lose the "lots of different, crazy weapons" concept that way, so who knows.
so my girlfriend just found out that there's two more hidden stashes of Zombrex in the underground. She believes she found them in a couple of Garbage bags down there, but isn't 100% sure where

Currently in Day 4 in Dead Rising 1's Infinite Mode. I found this handy guide that tells me when survivors/psychos spawn and what they drop. I'm hoping I have enough time to get to the food court to kill Steven before that "freeze up if you enter/leave the food court on day 5" bug can take effect.
