plus motorcycle skeletons aren't event he dumbest thing in a castlevania game.

Plus there was a mode where you played as an armoured knight with a revolver for some reason. It was awesome.

I love Castlevania. It's one of my favorite game series. I won't be able to play this because I own neither a PS3 nor an XBox 360. Well, it probably won't be any good, like the other 3D Castlev... Wait, this has already been reviewed and according to Wikipedia it got good reviews?

I really liked castlevania 64- it had strong atmosphere. Also an invincible frankenstein hedge maze groundskeeper. But then I got up to this part that is fucking impossible or bugged out or something involving carrying explosives around.

People on the internet are always going 'castlevania 64 lol skeleton motorbikers sooo dumb'

What is wrong with these people that don't see skeleton bikers as an obvious perk?

The part that makes you walk slowly while carrying nitroglycerin was evil. Any running or getting hit by enemies blew you up. I loved it because it was such a dick move by the developers.

I'm pretty sure the japanese voice of the Belmont is the same one as Char. Which as a UC Gundam lover I think that's nice.

It kind of looks like they got God of War in my Assassin's Creed and then mixed in some Dracula killing with it.

That's not a bad thing either. I may rent/borrow this before buying, but it looks decent.

I am not very familiar with the series (only played the NES games way back when and then a couple on DS) but I would have hoped a name like Castlevania wouldn't turn out to be a God of War clone right down to the primary weapon type and level appearance which it sure looks like.

The weapon is completely different. This one is a cross that whips out and attacks, not shortswords on chains that are magically adhered to your arms by chains. Also, ripping the head off a werewolf would be cool.

Yeah it's God of War fights Edward Cullen with some Assassin's Creed like building jumping/parkour.

Make it not a whip or use the whip for controlling enemies and then swording them to death.

He's a freaking Belmont. You might as well cut off his balls if you think he shouldn't use his whip or not have one at all.

Hmmm...might be good, might suck. I tried one of the 3d Castlevania's, couldn't stand it after I ran through my 4th observatory room. I was like "how many telescopes does Dracula need?"

I started watching the gameplay trailer, and I love how they used music from Super Castlevania IV at the beginning.

Speaking of which, I loves me some Super Castlevania IV and SotN. SOOO MUCH.

Use a totally different combat style maybe? Use the whip for grappling, countering, disarming, utilizing the surroundings in different ways perhaps.

Just something that isn't freaking identical to God of War's chaos blades.

It's a mix between the Cross subweapon and the whip.

Either way there's no way to get away from comparisons of the two games. I would just accept Lords of Shadow on its merits rather than get upset that it's similar to God of War.

    Castlvania is still better, though.

Besides Lament of Innocence did a lot of the things God of War did several years before that game was out. So it's not like Castlevania is straight up ripping it off.

I was somewhat excited about this game, although Fable III, Fallout New Vegas, AND Force Unleashed II are all coming out this month...

But I watched the review on Gametrailers, and my enthusiasm was dampened a little.
