I'm fucking irate over this because a ton of my mapping was done with the double-move sail. So now I have to backtrack every single goddamn space of sea to make sure I picked up the proper items all over the place. God fucking damn it that's going to be tedious.
It's even worse; there are some events which only trigger during the daytime. I just found a Basket Star
by swimming in the North at B3(a3), next to the seaweed.
Found a new event in a spot I had already mapped (happened to be using the Latin Sail at the time, but I doubt that matters).
On the barter log, does anyone have the fish after Dark Moray and the one after Armored Shrimp? And if so, do you recall where you found them? I'm also missing fish before and after Niphon.
Trade goods, still missing something between Ivory Netsuke and the 500-En Coin, and a pirate drop between Foreign Goods and the Bloody Flag.

Darian you're breaking my heart.
Also, I'm strongly considering resetting my entire game. I've thought about just going with a Rest use, but the 5 levels knocked off isn't exactly going to make me feel better about my progression point and party choice (still have to level the backup party). And I have a strange compelling to see how much easier the game is now that I've tried the party I initially thought would be great vs. the party I know I'll end up needing (while still having what I want for the most part).
Gladiator (Uses Wide Hit and superior Club and Sword weapons to become the ultimate one weapon normal attacker)
Hey, XoB - can you explain that one to me? Aren't all of the Buccaneer Chase abilities dependent on wielding a rapier (or a gun), so you're giving up a bunch of usefulness to switch in Gladiator?
After Dark Moray is South Urchin. Rare drop, but it was in South Sea area to the West if I recall.
There's also 100 En coin and 1000 En coins, so if you're missing that...

Bucc, Prince, and Gladiator up front. Hoplite and Arbalist in the back. Though, I might reconsider that and put Bucc in the back for the Hoplite to be able to sub Ninja.
Prince is gonna sub monk. Arb is gonna sub zodiac like I already have been.
Depending on hte row, the bucc will sub gladiator or arbalist (just to try the suggestions above).
Considering cutting the gladiator to put something else in, hurf.
I'm also heavily considering making my third run through an all Pirate affair.
Pirate/Gladiator
Pirate/Shogun
Pirate/Ninja
Pirate/Arbalist.
Pirate/Monk
Pirate/PRINCESS
Pirate/Wildling
Pirate/Lady who can duplicate body parts
Pirate/CYBORG
Pirate/UNDEAD BARD.
Sounds like it could work and is pretty similar to the party I used for most of the fifth stratum.
The only issues are the ones you normally get from a party with no Hoplite and no direct healer: When things go bad they go really bad. You might have a hard time killing certain FOEs.
Seriously though what do you need to know? All the English guides are being written...probably.
You can fumble through the rest and figure it out pretty easily.

A lot of what I've seen online is referring to classes and skills by their direct-translated Japanese names, as opposed to official NA names. So it could get confusing.
Okay, so I just started EO3 after giving up on EO2. I just got to the 3rd floor.
My party is currently
Front row: Hoplite, Prince, Gladiator
Back row: Ninja, Monk
I'm mostly happy about my party, but having both a passive and active healer proved to be good and terrible at the same time. The monk is being really helpful on more difficult fights as she's keeping my hoplite alive, but on random battles she's pretty redundant compared to my prince. I thought about switching her out for a Zodiac, but won't they face the same problems? Useful in boss/FOE fights, damn near useless in random fights?
All that's left is Lianne, now holding the front line with 20 hp left.
Quickly, she uses a Nectar on Olivia while Narmer dives into the mud once again.
Two more nectars are used for Erina and Sophia while Narmer shifts his hiding spot around.
Again, the only choice is to attack at random.
Spot 1. Miss
Spot 2. Miss
Spot 3. Miss
Spot 4. Hit
He surfaces, but no one is left to attack him this round.
I can just tell that he's winding up for a Fin Smack to kill everyone at once this time
There's no time to shift positions, so all my front line attackers attack from the back row.
Minimal damage at best. All that's left is Lianne, shooting point-black right at him.
She hits him square on, knocking him down for good.
He dropped a Volt Whisker, so i've upgraded Lianne's weapon yet again. She's really the powerhouse of the team, it's crazy how much damage she puts out. Maybe i've specced her wrong, but my gladiator, Erina, is kind of lagging in the damage department. She also misses a TON.
Doesn't help that these enemies keep blinding everyone as well. Oh well.

His Majesty has taken several of our crew out to see in order to see if it’s a viable method for earning money. I would have gone along with him, but he insisted that he would be fine on his own. We both know that he was just trying to protect me from having to go out onto a boat. I can’t afford to let my personal hang-ups get in the way of protecting his Majesty. I’ll have to do better next time.
For now, though, I’ve led the others into a Labyrinth at night. As expected, we didn’t run into any of the green birds, and we’ve managed to do a fair bit of exploring. We met a strange girl who pointed us to a campsite in the area, so that’s where we are now, recuperating after a trek.
Another thing of note is a swordsman we ran into warning us about several of the strongest monsters in the stratum. Apparently giant lizards roam the second floor, and they have poisonous bites. We would do well to avoid them, I suppose. There truly is no end to the number of dangers the Labyrinth poses.
We’ve determined to set out again after an hour or so’s rest, before the sun rises and the Largebills start showing up again. Hopefully we can discover the entrance to the third level before too long.

Man, never thought I’d miss the ocean so much! Couple of minutes after we cast off and it’s like I never left the seas at all.
Of course, I did it with a bunch of green landlubbers in tow, so most of the day was spent making sure they didn’t scuttle the St. Eris the instant we set out of port. His Royal Fanciness also surprised me a good bit – he managed to handle himself fairly well and also keep the ship running. The girl with the bow though – Sidney – she claims to have been on a ship before but you couldn’t tell by the way she runs things. ‘S far as I’m concerned, that she didn’t fall off the side of the boat is a small miracle in and of itself. Clay did her work well enough, but there’s some sort of intense look in her eyes that gives me the creeps.
Anyway, since we were in no condition to deal with any of the seas’ somewhat more severe conditions, we spent most of the day in the coastal waters nabbing fish. Turned in a decent haul, even if I do say so myself, between that and Farmer we shouldn’t have to worry overmuch about cash for a bit.
I did catch sight of his highness looking at the lighthouse. Apparently he’s heard the stories about the bird up top. When he asked me about it I told him all the horror stories about how the bird wrecks any ship that approaches it from the east.
“Then it doesn’t destroy ships that come from the west?” he asked me.
“No need,” I laughed. “The currents there do that for it. There’s a reason the lighthouse was built, after all.”
But now I don’t half wonder if I planted some dumb idea into his head to figure out a way to approach the lighthouse. Eh, he’s not taking the St. Eris to sea without my say so, so he’ll have to run any funny ideas through me first.
Right now though, I stink of fish more than usual. The others are apparently pulling an all-night in the Labyrinth itself. Well, good for them. I’m gonna see if I can’t get the smell of fish guts out of my clothes.

That, or I could tie it’s shadow to the ground to prevent it from running, but at this point I’m more worried about us running. Heh.
Oops, Alexis is calling for us to resume our trek. Guess I’ll finish this later.

Don't take my advice as word of law, but I prefer going 5 points into the skill that restores HP at the end of the turn (if the prince has max HP) followed by 5 points into Triumphant Call or whatever that is, to make HP restore after battle. Monarch March I'm going to skip this time (HP recovered each step taken). Negotiate is a great healing skill, granted it has to devour buffs you put on people. If you're sub-classing monk though, skip Negotiate. Aim for Protect Order (which requires 5 points in Rally Order which is shit, which requires 5 points in Guardian Order which is actually good). Protect Order restores HP each round it is active based on your TEC stat. The higher the skill, the higher the % of TEC is healed. And the higher your TEC, well, you get the picture.
Edit - Also, the first heal skill I mentioned, the post-battle heal, Monarch March, and the skill that heals when you buff people all do fixed amounts of healing (they don't scale). None of them jump above 100 HP, as far as I know.
Why oh why would you ever start a new file on this game unless you wanted to redo the map?

Was it not clear that's what I was doing when I got into it last night? If I'm going to level up people from level 1 to replace the party members I'm not pleased with I may as well start over.
Besides, I'm going to be placing all sorts of notes and markers and shit on my sailing map this time.
I thought I'd try out a Chasing Buccaneer since my party had 3 characters who attacked with the same weapon type, but it seems almost all the Buccaneer's other abilities don't really mesh with their Chases? I had a few points in Trickster but I don't get any TP back when I use Chase or hit with Chases, and while I haven't tested it out I imagine stuff like Lady Luck and Swashbuckling don't work either since they're only for normal attacks.
Is there any way to improve Chasing, maybe with a subclass, or is it kind of a deadend street?

I just find it wasteful to the extreme. The game has perfectly fine mechanics for starting over without wasting your maps.
Should've said something last night! And besides, I'm Henroid. X-TREME is my middle name.
I did want some perspective though, in regard to seeing how easy the game is when you've already experienced the latter portions of it. I'm the guy who would roll a new character in WoW for a class I already max-leveled just to see how major changes affected the class from start to finish (only twice did I actually remove high-level characters in this regard).

That, or I could tie it’s shadow to the ground to prevent it from running, but at this point I’m more worried about us running. Heh.
Oops, Alexis is calling for us to resume our trek. Guess I’ll finish this later.

Gotta love the Kagerou skill.
Edit - Also, the first heal skill I mentioned, the post-battle heal, Monarch March, and the skill that heals when you buff people all do fixed amounts of healing (they don't scale). None of them jump above 100 HP, as far as I know.
Besides, I'm going to be placing all sorts of notes and markers and shit on my sailing map this time.
Is there any way to improve Chasing, maybe with a subclass, or is it kind of a deadend street?
Should've said something last night! And besides, I'm Henroid. X-TREME is my middle name.
I did want some perspective though, in regard to seeing how easy the game is when you've already experienced the latter portions of it. I'm the guy who would roll a new character in WoW for a class I already max-leveled just to see how major changes affected the class from start to finish (only twice did I actually remove high-level characters in this regard).
So glad I switched out my Monk for the Zodiac. Now I'm doing ELEMENTAL DAMAGE BITCHES.
