I'm debating on cosplaying Lady Deadpool, since I can't bind my chest down to actually cosplay Deadpool. Although that depends if I can find a friend to help get the outfit together. Since I can't sew at all, but we'll see how it goes. If all else fails, or it's not to my liking by PAX then Little Sister cosplay will be my back-up.
Anyways, the idea was. organize a troop, 4-6 people. Complete with yellow suit, black boots, gas mask, and fa-breeze with holsters. As yall can more then likely see we're I'm leading this too. Would say running around on Saturday as a yellow blob of CDC cleanup crew, spraying people with Oh. Fa-Breeze or water if they don't want us using chemicals. Get us kicked out? We've got a few more acts in mind. But they are less...Crowd dependent..lol

I'm 99% sure that spraying Febreeze on people without asking them would get you kicked out, and rightfully so.
American Cons are rather hard to get by in it seems. We in japan thought it would be funny, but guess our since of humor different. Well, that does not totally ruin our plans. ty

You could however set something up in advance where you got a bunch of peoples permission here on the forums to "decontaminate" them when you saw them by having them print out a special tag or something to attach to themselves somewhere.
It would be funny to see a bunch of CDA agents swarm someone and spray them with febreeze, as long as they gave permission first.
(That is if spraying anything is allowed in the first place)
It is not that it would not be funny. It is for things like safety, I know that if there was a ton of febreeze in a concentrated area I would start to feel sick and I know there are others who would feel the same way or possibly be allergic.
It is also so that you do not randomly bomb people with it and cause those around them discomfort. While there might be concent from the main target there was not concent from everyone else. It is not really an American thing of humor, it more about con rules to help protect everyone.
If you really want to go with the plan then you could pretend to spray people with it or find some other way to "decontaminate" them. Just remember that randomly swarming someone might cause some people a lot of discomfort and people respond differently to discomfort than others.
I still have a lot of work for Chell to do but here's some progress on my portal gun! I still have a TON of work to do.
Small test of the LED lights. The gun is barely put together at this point. The color is very bright and looks great in the dark. I'll have the orange lights hopefully by the end of next week.
Work that I got done today. Sadly the gun won't be 100% accurate due to me being terrible at props. Sanding and spray painting the blue stuff will come tomorrow. The white bits will come when I finally get my hands on a hand drill.
I'm unsure of what main costume I should make for PAX Prime 2011. I've been considering something from the few games I've played in past years (Pokemon, Golden Sun, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance) or the cute quirky Recettear game.

Pokemon costumes are easy to recognize and for the most part easy to put together. My Hilda cosplay from last years PAX only took about a week or two to put together.
Then again don't wait till the last minute to do your costume! Plan for plenty of time to do your costume
Aasdfasdfadsf, the shirt should be getting finished soon and if it's up to snuff I'm gonna go into mad scientist mode and get the rest of the costume assembled ASAP.
From prior costume wearing experience, I've found that PAX is actually quite tolerable as long as you aren't going too crazy with the layers. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable I was in costume (was wearing a Clear Sky uniform + tac vest). Really the only meh part was the face mask. It's damn surprising how hot a thin piece of fabric can get just from exhaling.
After playing Fallout 3 and C&C i realized Nikola Tesla is a big part of gaming culture, I decided this year at PAX I'm going as a victorian mad scientist. anyone else want to join in for some mad scientist shenanigans?
yes i said shenanigans please don't pistol whip me
Flashheart, I know my friend will be doing Steampunk Saturday/Sunday. We have a Doctor Who thing going Friday. She would love to get a photo with you and I would too. Love scientist the mad ones and Victorian are the best!

That why I also said maybe water. Water is safe and if anything it would look the part. thank you for info. I'll look into the certain people idea.
you also realize that there are a LOT of electronics in the form of handhelds and phones, right?
Myself, I wouldnt have a problem. But rules are rules and I remember somewhere in the PAX guidelines or FAQ that *any* projectiles (liquid, solid, or otherwise) was expressly forbidden.
Is it funny? hell yes!
is it safe? maybe back in 1972, but not in this politically correct age... >.>
Interesting to see what costumes people are doing...
I was going to improve on my Medic costume from last year but then I thought why not do a new one...
if it's done in time, I am going to be coming as one of the wizards from Magicka

Would love to see someone do a good Recette costume!
You know, these kind of threads make me a little sad.
There are so many good options for girls to cosplay, yet for us guys, there really aren't all too many choices. We did a super-hero costume party a few years back and I had a lot of fun learning to sew... on a spandex dancer's leotard. (If you're going to learn something, why not start with the hardest possible project, right?) I have no problem with walking around in a skin-tight leotard in public, but it seems that the vast vast majority of male gaming characters are seven foot tall, over-muscled dudes in gigantic suits of armor. Even if I could pull something like that off (which is unlikely since I'm only 5-8), that's simply not practical, especially for a crowded show like PAX.
On the other hand, if you're being incredibly specific, there are so very few tall male characters with long curly red hair. Woe is me. :P
I recommend that super hero that Conan has, the flaming C. you get a sweet oven mit!

Considering going as either the 10th or 11th Doctor, but I'll likely be dressed up in my gym leader outfit for the PPL the whole weekend this time around.

pinebark, our group is doing the doctor who thing Friday. Girls are doing the doctors (10th and 11th) and Captain Jack and the boys are going to be Rose, Amy, River, and Harriet Jones and a Tardis! It would always be fun to have more.

Just decided today that I'm going as Daenerys Targaryen from the Game of Thrones! AKA, the Khaleesi. Also just got my Indiana Jones costume together. Don't know who I'll be which day.

Maybe! Like I said, I've got my League costume which will probably take precedence, and I don't have the gear for a companion/TARDIS costume, so I would probably be unable to do anything wibbly-wobbly gender-bendery, but we'll see as the date gets closer.
Gotta say, you guys/gals are awesome. I'd considered doing something but I think I'd need to go in baby steps. I'd actually thought about trying to put together some sort of Firefly outfit. Either Mal (it's all about that coat) or Jayne (since I'm big and he's kinda easy...though I'd have to figure out how to make a not too real replica of one of his weapons (like Vera).
I still have a crush on a certain cosplayer from Prime 2010 who was in a steampunk outfit (also a fan of steampunk!). She looked awesome even though the outfit was pretty straightforward (less is more sometimes!!).

LoneGunman I had a group of Steampunk girls in my group last year and they are returning this year. If you look at my hidden links, the photobucket account has last years photos. Oh and we love the Firefly costume ideas.

Well guess I'll go back to my original idea. Was gonna go as a metro 2033 soldier. Which about 50% of the people will confuse with Stalker.
