Watching ice hockey online

The NHL season is starting soon and I don't have cable! Adding to the frustration, I live in Australia.

Is there a website I can watch ice hockey online, preferably for free?

I don't mind paying, but it's incredibly hard to tell what is a scam and what isn't. There are hundreds of sites that just scream "scam" to me.

There are free places to watch but none legal.

Is NHL Gamecenter live available outside of the US?

Is that at the NHL site? I saw that, for 20 dollars a month.

CBC live streams most HNIC games for free on their website. However that may be region locked to Canada.

I don't know about other teams, but Vancouver also makes some games available for free on their website.

You can watch 'reruns' (i.e. not live) on tsn.ca.

For legal streaming, I think you need to stick to NHL.com and any packages they provide (assuming it works down under). Different teams have different agreements with different cable networks so you CAN'T go to nbc.com (or hulu) and get them all.

The TSN option might be good cuz of the time difference.
