I just remember it going to level 10, had no like class specialization or anything and was all "next book will be the next levels and shit like grey wardens!" and then i never saw anything about it again.
seems it was level 5 and under, and set two is apparently may.
I should go thumb though it again, see if it was a poor as i remember.
hey you guys remember that Dragon Age PnP RPG that came out and wasn't very good? they ever make the second book for that or did do as poorly as i figure it did?
There's a free beta preview thing, I think. I haven't really looked into it, but I think I read that somewhere.
I need to hash out what kinda character I wanna build for our next session on Tuesday. My dual-blade ranger was fucking shit at everything and it looks like striker duty is going to be taken-up by the guy who played paladin last time. We may need a tank.
Our options for races are human, human shifter (with an Egyptian theme) and elf.
The campaign is basically medieval Stargate SG1 where the original party walked through a magical doorway in Jerusalem while they were there taking part in the crusades and ended up in a Gailic-inspired British-Isles-looking countryside where a form of proto-Judaism is being practiced and it's connected through the gate system to several other worlds which we haven't discovered yet except for the Egyptian scouts who came through after we did to establish communication with Gailic-land. Apparently the gates have been dormant for 100 years until we showed up and now there's inverted drow (white skin, black hair) taking slaves and all kinds of other shit plaguing the countryside.
It's D&D 4e with modifications where necessary for stuff like fortifying a city and training a defense force.
The Egyptian guys can apparently shift into either jackals or cats. We haven't found out any story reasons for that yet but I'm sure we'll get the background if one of us picks an Egyptian dude.
I only have Player's Handbook 1 so I don't have any info on the shifters.
A swordmage sounds like exactly the kind of thing i wanna be.
I think I can assemble the character via the D&D character-builder without having to read the book. Either that or go to Borders sometime this weekend and read that section.
edit: Holy shit, that $10 I pay a month also lets me print-out info from any of the books! That's fucking radical!
Well since the Assassin is getting a printed build in Heroes of Shadow I expect they'll have a fair number of new feats for them too. (Unless they just take all the already-made Assassin feats and put them in the book, ha ha.)
I assembled a swordmage but he's an ensnaring swordmage, should I change it to assualt?
I want to be an effective party member this time. Last time I was a pincushion. I'm still new to PnP.
Either build can be effective, it just depends on what your playstyle is going to be. Just keep how your Aegis functions in mind when selecting powers.

I'll build two versions and see what my party says.
-Assassins have known to bring their favorite blankie to executions
-An assassin's favorite snack is peanut butter on crackers
-Sometimes, assassins have bad dreams
Doobh on

A bear latched onto my ranger about midway into our adventure. I had to roll a save or so smokey wouldn't begin to eat me.
That was one of the only battles where I held up the lion's share of damage-dealing. Critted the thing with a careful strike and then added some flavor by having my guy get drenched in blood as he impaled it's heart. I never did get a chance to commission some bear-hide armor from the skins I brought back from that one.

I am doing this with Mutants and Masterminds.
Which reminds me I need to get a little more inspiration from pony.

They should've just used True20 but nooooooo.

Printing out swordmage info now.
Made a Shardmind Swordmage/Battlemind hybrid the other day. He teleports things around and gives himself temp HP like nobody's business.

That and being a weapon-based ki focus class.

They're probably going to be more getting bonuses on guild at-wills and assassin's strike ignoring resistance or something.
Not so much stuff like making Shrouds less terrible.
