Ugh.
Its wierd how your perception of a system can change in such a short time.
Playing with M&M a few weeks ago, it was a really pleasant, fairly fast running system that just took a while to make a character for. Which was probably because we kept them to simple concepts and powers.
Last two days? Holy fuck this is a clunkt, confusing mess of a system I've ever seen now that I got out of that comfort zone.

Alright gents tell me about Dread. Like, beyond just it's jenga-tastic. From what I've heard I feel as if I could whip it together with just a jenga set, but also that it's incredibly simplistic and would get dull. I'm assuming there are further rules than what has been mentioned in the thread here, I guess.

Sorry I just had a rather long weekend. Three days of faire followed up by rehearsals for another show. Anyways, I believe I'm good for tonight if everyone else is, but I don't know what the case is there.
Man, there are so many games I would like to run right now. I really want to try the new Gamma World. I picked up a copy of White Wolf's old Mage: the Sorcerer's Crusade for some Renaissance-y goodness after playing Assassin's Creed II. I've also had the urge to go back and run a TMNT & Other Strangeness or D6 Star Wars game (probably just one shots)...
Running my first DnD game as DM. I'll be on my fourth session next time we meet. It's been pretty fun.
Any advice on giving special character perks within the 4e system? I made some up with the goal of them being between a background bonus and a feat, but if I want to hand out more is there anything I should strongly avoid or keep in mind?

I think you'd enjoy it. It's definitely scratched all my creative itches and from writing to drawing up maps, to mathing up monsters painting figurines, there is a lot of variety there.
Played the new Gamma World today. It was a lot of fun. I ended up rolling a swarm/mindbreaker which I made a swarm of hypnotoads armed with a giant flyswatter as a melee weapon. The random Alpha Mutations are pretty fun/funny. In the second encounter, I ended up with a stink aura which basically saved the day by allowing me to break grabs/push enemies away.
There's a pretty big element of chance as far as getting good synergy between your origins and your Alpha Mutations/Omega Tech. Getting a computer that lets you hack computers/robots would be super handy in some encounters, totally useless in others.
