Hey guys, I've been lurking these boards for a while. I just decided to actually make an account and I figured that this would be my first post.
This is the perfect place for me to tell you all that my team and I are doing a Christmas-time video game marathon that will most likely be several days long and will follow the Mario Marathon formula.
Wait! Who is this "team"?
Excellent question. We go by the name
Boss Battles. This team consists of me and a few close friends who are all big fans of Gabe and Tycho's work and would like to give back.
And what are you doing exactly?
To keep it short and sweet: Boss Battles will be live streaming (via USTREAM) a video game marathon to raise money for the Child's Play Charity organization.
When is this marathon taking place?
We've narrowed it down to either
December 17th or December 19th, we're MOST LIKELY going with the latter though! Future updates and announcements can be found on our website, official Twitter or our Facebook page.
Website? Twitter? Facebook? LINKS PLZ!
I was getting to that:

Facebook -

Wouldn't you like to know!
Actually... Yes. I would.
Oh, okay. Well we will be announcing our games weekly on all 3 of those links posted above. The
first game announcement takes place in approximately 11 hours!
Monday, Oct. 4th @ 12:01am (EST) Games will range from classic titles to more challenging ones, with mini games in between.
You mentioned the Mario Marathon earlier, what's that?
Well the Mario Marathon was an incredible video game marathon for Child's Play that actually inspired us to create this "team", this "project". This past June, the 3rd annual Mario Marathon raised over $80,000 by playing every main Mario platforming title ranging from the original Super Mario Bros. to the most recent Super Mario Galaxy 2 in the course of 100+ hours. If you want more information on the Mario Marathon, check them out at

The marathon will (hopefully) be very interactive, we're working on getting things to raffle and give away. Contests! The will be a live chat stream next to the video stream so we can talk to you guys, because we'll probably lose our minds talking to nobody but each other for days on end.
I have some questions that haven't been answered, how can I contact you?
We also have a FAQs section up on our website that get a little more into detail, but for your obscure questions you can reach us at:

Hope this thread does us justice. Thanks for your support guys, spread the word!
